    Difference between a fuse and circuit breaker-
    Fuse-Needs replacing after it blows
    Circuit breaker-Doesn't need replacing and is resettable

    She was the smartest kid on the show. That's why she was on so many episodes. Mr. Wizard had zero tolerance for kids who weren't smart. He can be mean.

    I often to be afraid of the fuse cause it looks like it makes an explosion.
    But this is a great example to show how a fuse works.

    Same here. Should of figured by her name and earrings but during the late 80s and early 90s some boys had one earing- you usually only see one side of her face. My mind is blown. I always thought this kid would grow up to be gay. Something too feminine about him but its a girl. I always thought it was so strange he has this little gay kid for his lab assistant, like there was weird shit going on off camera. Later on in the show I thought they switched from the little gay boy to a girl. You know like seasons later. That's wild. It was the same person the whole time.

      Fuse is precursor to circuit breaker. A small wire, encapsulated in glass, designed to burn through and break before an overload of electricity damages other components/starts a fire.

      Fuse is de voorloper van een stroomonderbreker. Een
      kleine draad, ingekapseld in glas, ontworpen om door te branden en te
      breken voordat een overbelasting van elektriciteit andere componenten
      beschadigt / een brand veroorzaakt.

    Ok but what does a fuse do? What purpose does it serve... just to go out? What are the consequences of overvoltage without a fuse?? Come on Mr Wizard we want to know more

    • @comprehendnature2404
      @comprehendnature2404 6 лет назад +3

      A fuse is used to protect the wires inside the wall of your house from burning and in many occasions protect your appliance from damage. Such as in modern electric stoves which turns off when the stove is hot and turn on when it is cold. It is a reusable thermal fuse. Without a fuse all your house appliance and the wiring in your walls will burn in case of overvoltage causing fire and burning down your whole house.

      Fuses, and breakers aren’t for over voltage, they’re for over current (amperage) situations. And while they may break, or trip if there’s a fault with a device connected to the circuit, they’re main purpose is to protect the house wiring, not the appliance, or device. A properly made appliance should have its own protections.
