I'm growing sunflowers in my yard..they are skinny and small butt tall....I don't know if I should make oil 🛢️🪔.!!!!! should I order the big ones to plant in my yard??? I don't know
Sunflower oil is one of the best oils for skin. Fun fact... it can repair a compromised skin barrier within one hour. And it has a calming effect. I am looking forward to trying this as a source of the freshest source of sunflower oil possible. Thank you!
In the process of harvesting my 30+ sunflowers and have been looking to do something else besides roasting. I can't wait to try this! I may try a press and cheesecloth since I'm a clean freak who hates oil on my hands lol awesome vid!
I thought the same: I'll probably squeeze it in a cheesecloth. But it's incredible how simple this is! I'm going to grow even more sunflowers next year (I love sunflower seeds as a snack), and it's exciting to see that I can make my own cooking oil at home!
Planning on growing sunflowers but don't know if my blender can handle this without much water. What if I grind it like when making seed milk and then just let the liquid stand overnight, would the oil separate from the water, like when making virgin coconut oil?
Herb oil extensions please 🙏 . Every one always add to infuse I would like to know a pure way I believe u would know thank u . N ur awesome thanks for this video it was perfect
Hi. Just found your video. I have a question. The blender that you're using, is it specific for seeds or is it just a general food processor? I have a regular food processor and the most I've gotten from sunflower seeds has been more like a coarse flour. Not a pulp
I will be growing sunflowers this summer in support of Ukraine. It would be really cool to extract the oil. I will give it a try when I harvest them. Thank you for this great video!!
So sorry about that dear, it needs small patients. You may need to massage the sunflower paste after blending a little bit longer while adding the water. Mine took a shorter time maybe due to the specie of the seeds. Yours may need a little elbow work and more spoons of water for the oil to be expelled out. I really wish you the very best dearest.
Thank you so much. Too much water will make the sunflower paste mushy, that will prevent the oil from expelling out. It should be one or 2 spoons at a time
Thanks for the video. I gave this a shot but my oil seems quite cloudy. Perhaps I ground the seeds to fine? Yours is quite yellow, mine not so much. Perhaps you roasted them a little?
Did you add water or did water come in contact with it? If you think water came in contact with it, fry on heat until the water is expelled. Again, don't allow the paste to fall into the oil as you massage the paste to release the oil
Onyx Food Hill I added only 3 tablespoons to 200 grams of seed. Is this too much? I used a NutriBullet to grind it so think maybe it ground too small? I was careful squeezing it not to drop seed into it. Will try again this week, maybe mortar and pestle the seeds instead of NutriBullet.
@@Jimbobmoonshiner Nutribulellet is not the problem. Just use a fine strainer and sieve the oil after you finish extra the oil, then reheat the oil to get rid of the water, you should have a brighter color.
200kg of sunflower you may get around 60 -80 litres if you take to oil mill machine. Note: Efficient of machine , spices of seeds, caring of all procedure in farm will determine how much litre you'll get
Wow! I didn't know it that easy. I can easily grow huge sunflowers in my yard. With the oil shortage this is great!
I'm glad it helped.👍👍

You must have the softest hands from pressing out the oil. Tysm for the demonstration! Much love to you 💗
Thank you so much dearie
A very good information however I would like to know how to remove the hard black coat of the sunflower seeds.Thanks.
That was a great video. I know sunflower seeds had a lot of oil in them, but I never thought it was so much you could squeeze it out by hand!
Yes is something you can do at home
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT WAS SO SO EASY. I AM IN..TRYING. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I'm glad it helped, thanks for trying it out
Thanks so much I am blessed to know how to get oils from sunflower at home
I'm thinking it might be easier to wrap pulp in cheese cloth and twist it to extract the oil.
My thoughts too, like a cider press or something 🤔
Wouldn't the cloth soak up oils as they don't produce much
@@dayshagreenawalt3964 I have no idea. Maybe use some sort of fabric mesh? Won't know unless I actually try it.
Thank you very much! This is great! I'm thinking about growing sunflowers and this is perfect!

Thank you so much for this. I'm a writer and this video is perfect for research.
Can you use this method to make fenugreek oil
That is really cool I never thought to make my own. Thanks
Yeah, you can give it a trial
Great, but can any type of blender be used or specific blenders?
Thank you❤️Have a beautiful day with love happiness, smiles and joy!🙏💕❤️❤️☀️God bless you❤️
Thanks
@@OnyxFoodHill ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice effort but how do you peel the seeds
Can you use the residue for anything? Or just throw it out?
You can use it in salads, but I used it as a thickener in soup, it has a nutty aroma.
Feed it to your Chicken or Birds if you have any.
Great video, but I have a question: wouldn't it be much easier if we press the "meal" in a siever?
I think that's a good idea too but I'm afraid the oil may come out together with the thick paste
Thanks and much love
I never knew its this easy

Thanks. No I haven't
What about with a pestle and mortar? Do you have a video showing that?

use black oil sunflower seeds. if the seeds have white stripes on them they do not have enough oil to take out.
Do i need to wash the peeled seed before blending

@@jayde8417 Chickens. Actually it will be incorporate with other food types to have sufficient nutrients.
@@etg9080 you are awesome. Also I think I saw in other videos, it may be used for soil for where the sunflower is, like compost. I may be wrong.
