I left 4 questions blank on the Chinese reading but I did answer everything else, I didn’t think I’d make it that far tbh
I didn’t feel the compulsive need to repeatedly check my answers on my English reading once I was done with it, but I was still scared I didn’t catch a mistake so I found 1 or 2 and corrected them (usually I find 3-4) and it made me feel so much more confident in getting full marks. I also wrote a really good informational writing that I barely planned for, and I noticed a minor performance boost in my speaking exam (the teacher also said that he knew I would get full marks for the reading aloud part of the exam so he just gave me 20 marks right off the bat). The hardest part of the reading SA (summative assessment) just happened to be the part that I glossed over when studying, confirmed my answers with the straight A kid in my class who actually studied (unlike me) and they matched so I’m pretty confident I got it right. Funny thing, my grades are actually better than him in most subjects, it’s just Chinese and general studies (which is taught in Chinese) keeping me from the straight A kid title. He’s admitted himself that he has no chance of beating me at all in English.
I took my math midterm on 2 hours of sleep, I didn’t study, had no books for the entire year, forgot to bring my eraser, and was writing with a blunt pencil…. I got a perfect 50/50…
The teachers made a mistake in the English listening SA because they accidentally left the 2nd half of the audio out resulting in answers getting leaked early via my input (I can infer a hell of a lot, (I got 3 of the 5 questions that had missing audio correct and the reasoning was spot-on) and even when that fails, I always have a hunch on the right answer) and multiple other students chipping in with their hypothesis and/or Google searches (they took my word for it cause I had the 2nd highest marks in my entire grade for English). Now everyone knew what the questions would be and could prepare for them (I had friends who couldn’t really keep up that well so I think this helped them). At first they promised free marks but then they made us redo the section. It didn’t matter which one since everyone was prepared anyway.
Chinese listening went well. I was also saved by the bell when I didn’t study for the speaking SA
