    Wow Nicole, that cactus is on my wish list. My son 3-D printed me a boobie planter, and when I get one of those cacti it is going in that planter, lol. I hope that you had a wonderful Valentine's Day, sending a hugs and love, bye for now.

    Have you tried mixing a little Ceylon Cinnamon in the top layer of soil to stop fungus gnats? It worked great with my Alocasia Amazonica and some terrarium plants. Doesn’t seem to affect the plant at all.

    When I repot my plants I always add the mosquito bits to the soil and mix it in before potting up the plant. This is how I keep the mosquito bits from sitting on the surface and getting moldy. I still have some fungus gnats but I'm pretty sure they are from the plants I haven't repotted yet.

    Fungas Gnats! Hate them! About a year ago I had a big problem, and of course went to RUclips for advise! I watched Adam's (Knotdude) video on the use of Beneficial Nematodes. That was the only thing that worked for me. I tried EVERY other method, but the nematodes was the only thing that worked. It actually keeps working on treated plants for months in the event you bring another plant into your house that is infested. You just need to treat the new plant. Give that a try! No messy topdressing or re-treatment needed!

    I got one from Thailand as well, I believe from the same vendor. Smaller than yours but with roots. My question (problem) for you is...After a few weeks I saw Mary J plants talk about how hers got soft because she forgot to water it. I checked mine and it was soft, I have watered it but sadly it’s still soft (I’ve watered it several times). Any suggestions?

    • @MyCleanLeaves
      @MyCleanLeaves  5 лет назад

      Hmmmm well, maybe it was over watered before shipping? I feel that cacti get soft when over watered and develop root rot
      But if you forget for a long time to water it, that can happen as well.
      I would chop off the soft part and let it callus over for about a week. Then pot it up again.

      No it doesn’t effect the plant.... it’s just ugly. I never gave it a chance to “go away” on its own...I just scraped it off cause I couldn’t stand looking at it.

Tiny willow type leaves and willow size bush needs to be cut back but I lost my pruners... Did I mention it's a pain in the butt plant lol... It would go nice with your boob cacti lol... That boobie cactus got bigger boobies then me lol, I love it! Misquito bits I believe is a bacteria that the larva of the fungus gnats eat and die. You dont need much lol, like a half a tablespoon lightly mixed into the top layer of soil and they wont mold like they do when u mix them in a little bit. I swear by them after battling fungus gnats for over 3 years before I tried them, I did put out the yellow traps when I first started using it to catch the adults too tho. Now I only see one or two every couple months if that. There will always be a few around, I think they are just a part of having plants.
