- In this video, as requested and promised, I go exploring the "process" somehow which lead to making the patch I showcased in my previous video.
Here's a bunch of links to my music, to my gumroad, and to many other things
linktr.ee/Platipo
and here's a link to a topic in the Vital Forum, just about these patches, with also the patches themselves to download
forum.vital.au...
in a world where everyone now wants to be a youtuber instead of a DJ and meaningless copypaste tutorials with zero substance are the norm, this one was truly helpful, educational and refreshing. you enlarged my brain with this, thank you and keep it up!👽👽
And this was quite a compliment :)
You know, I would rather be a producer instead of a youtuber, but you may see how in over a decade, my SC profile hasn't grown as much as my yt channel in under 3 years... and now I wish I could spend more time making yt videos instead of teaching maths :(
this tutorial came like ordered for me, your channel is super cool man, I appreciate you sharing all this knowledge.
Thank you very much, these comments make me wish harder for the time and headspace needed to get back on youtube.
Glad you liked it, hope to be making more soon.
This is how I learned years ago. I took my laptop to a friends & he made music & sounds for a year on it while ei did a lot of washing. & he talked out loud a little & answered questions ..
Vids like these are way better than edited ones for getting a feel of what's being done!
Love it! thanks
this is amazing! I only did similar sounds on modular synths, but I never thought use vital for do that kind of sounds it's a rally powerful synth
Glad you liked it :) in the end the distinction between modular/semimodular and the like is getting blurrier and blurrier when we look at the end results.
Now I'm getting an idea of how to make these patches. Thank you for taking the time to show us how you do it.
My pleasure, let me hear what you come up with :)
very unique tutorila, the work flow and ideas are thing I will have to try to incorporate. thank you.
Thank you very much :) happy you found it helpful.
Ah thanks for reminding me about the map function, for some unknown reason I rarely use it, have to start to use it more.
Oh well, it is quite amazing, as someone mentioned in a comment to another video, Vital GUI would deserve an award, and the way the mod remapping is integrated and its possibilities are just brilliant.
mad scientist phenotype???
cool vids
Well... somehow :D thanks
you are a very good sounddesigner and musician :D and you have a great taste for music software hehe
Thank you:)
This is so awesome, gave me a new perspective to mess around with this plugin. I will be attempting to do this next time I'm on it but I can't say it'll be as good as yours.
Practice makes perfect, or at least a tinybit less bad everytime :) if this helps, my first attempts weren't really that great, and that one I made the previous video from took almost 2 hours to make... Let me hear what you come up with :)
Damn, that's awesome, although quite difficult to follow. Mille grazie maestro!
Thank you, I wish I was a better teacher and a better video editor and I could make it easier to follow; anyway, it's not intended to be followed to the letter, just to give a general idea, hope you could bring some of that home :)
@@platipo , Indeed, made a few experiments and they all sound pretty cool although I didn't have the minor-scaled remap shapes and tried with other shapes. Very cool in a darkpsy context as you said. Look forward to more videos from you!
Oh yeah, forgot to ask. Do you have any musical project?
Well... of course I do, you can find two of them from my linktree in the description, one is my old sorta outdoorish psychedelic techno project Neonbug, and the other is Eùoé, somehow closer to darkpsy and more experimental and disturbing stuff.
Making those remaps yourself is pretty straightforward, anyway, if you're feelimg lazy, you can download this patch and get all the remaps/shapes from it :)
Cool! Thanks for this dude. I made a patch adding my own audio as wavetable. It's amazing what you can do with this. Then I pair it with Behringers Neutron, and holy shit lol.
I've been messing around with Vital for a few weeks now, and haven't read anything or watched any videos yet. RUclips randomly threw this one my way, and I feel like I've learned so much watching this. I tried to pick apart a few of the presets but couldn't really tell what was happening with the more complex patches. But I feel like I kinda, maybe can start to understand it better. I suppose it's time to really take a deep dive in and try to learn more about Vital. Thanks!
p.s. your second link in the description is missing.
Thank you, fixed it :)
Check out Platipo' older vids, there's a goldmine of vital Vital information 😉
You sir are a madman. Subbed 🙏
Thank you :)
I am so helped by this video. Others should be too.
Thank you so much platipo!
Thank you :)
bravissimo, iscritto! :)
Some of those sounds remind me of work done by Morton Subotnik.
Most of those done with the harmonic series wt for sure. Anyway yes, for a reason or another these things often happen to sound westcoastish
Thanks :)
My pleasure :) Hope everything is clear and understandable.
i wanna show this to my friends on acid
I'd show them the other one, that 45 minutes or so free running patch.
feel like just watching this video is killing my cpu lol can't imagine my laptop could handle this
Surprise surprise :) I recorded this video running bitwig, a few plugins for my voice, OBS, and all on a 10 years old PC :)
where can I get the minor scale wave form ; - ;
It's surely in some of my packs, can't remember which ones; you could even just download this patch and get it from it, or you can easily make it yourself, the LFO editor is a breeze :)
