    Very instructive to see how Graeme thinks through the play of the hand. Also I like his suggestion about looking at the variation in the scores that top bridge players get. I had always assumed they would be fairly consistent high scores. It would be reassuring to see that even the best players get some bad scores!

    As for bidding, I would double as south, showing a balanced hand with 15-17. Then we'd find our spade fit.

      EW are playing Strong NT. Double works here but not sure its the percentage call.

    Don't become declarer when defending. There was a plan to hold up diamonds till the 3rd round. This was always going to be declarer's preferred suit, so lead small diamond at trick 2, not a side suit that will play into declarer's hand and kill your KC.

    If partner had led a club instead of donked the KH the contract would have gone down.
