Hello! I was wondering if the bag was lambskin or calf? I am finding two different answers from sources such as Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and the bottega site.
@@la-nw6yz hi! Thank you so much for watching my video! It appears I was wrong; it is NOT lambskin leather. I reached out to my SA just now, and she confirmed it is Nappa leather. Most of Bottega Veneta's leather goods are either calfskin or nappa, and this one is the latter. Thank you so much for your question!
@@pamela_jiyoung Hi!I just spoke with my SA as well and she said it is a Nappa lambskin leather! LOL apparently Nappa is just the way they treat the leather and tan it in the sun.
Thanks for the video ... and ... especially for filming the bag so close. Because I was curious how those straps are made ... if they are attached by sewing etc. So ... thanks to you ... now I know more ... about this stunning piece of craftsmanship.
Thank you so much for your support! This means so much to me. There are two bags I want to share on this YT and will be working on those videos within the next two weeks !
Hi, love your bag! I'm debating between purchasing this in either plaster or tapioca color. I've only seen the plaster color in person since owning the BV pouch in plaster (white). In your opinion, do you think the tapioca color for this bag leans more on the yellow or beige side?
Hi Jessica! Thank you so much! From what I remember looking at the photo my S.A. sent, I would describe the tapioca as a beige yellow color. but it is still in the warm color palette. If it wasn't for the scrunch I mentioned in the video, I would've definitely bought the Tapioca color, it is so gorgeous!
Hi! Thank you for your question! No color transfer at all! I babied this bag like crazy! The S.A. told me the same thing; that there will be color transfer over time if wearing with jeans and to be careful. When I wear black or jeans, I always wore some sort of outerwear like a jacket or coat so the bag was protected. Or I just avoided wearing jeans with the bag and styled another outfit.
Yes I agree! For me personally, suede is too sensitive a material and I'd ruin it so quick. I prefer leather for sure! I've seen this bag in black in YT videos and IG pictures, and it looks stunning. Wish I saw it in person though
Hii somebody knows if the bottega veneta padded cassete bag is more soft then chanel classic flap bag ( lambskin leather)? Please I hope somebody answer me if so I will buy a bottega veneta padded cassette and that will be my classic flap bag
Awesome video !! have subscribed to this channel ! @Ana Aravalo I have compared to a Chanel lambskin leather bag and the Bottega chain cassette is softer! I just bought the chain cassette and out a review up if you’d like to check it out m.ruclips.net/video/pGCoxHYQMz0/видео.html
Hello! The nappa leather is really soft and puffy. I've been very careful with this bag, so as of now there are no scratches or marks (whew!) If one is not careful, this leather can definitely scratch, so I really baby this bag.
@@pamela_jiyoung that's what i was kind of "afraid" of ... the leather looks so juicy and supple. i was wondering how it would hold up as a daily. thank you P!
I bought a counterfeit one for only about 250 dollars. I think they look exactly the same. I don’t know, I feel weird. I really like the design of this bag, but I will never buy this for 2800 dollars
Yes for sure these brands are not cheap. I would've loved to spend less by purchasing on the preloved market but I am not familiar with going through those platforms. It's definitely something I am looking into doing in the future though. I was ready to purchase this one with the money I had saved up at the time, and it was a way to treat myself. So for me, it was worthwhile. But $2800 is a lot money!
@@pamela_jiyoung I also treated myself with the Bottega Veneta Cassette. For me I can’t really buy a cheaper version of the bag due to the texture or having the feeling it’s not authentic. It all depends if you are willing to spend money or not and also if you have the money. In general with any designer bag. With pre loved/ pre owned sometimes it’s still near the price of the actual retail so it’s best to just buy it new unless you get lucky with getting one in great/ good condition and with such a low price. Overall I hope you been enjoying your BV.
@@kisyeuh Thank you so much for sharing Keisha! And yes I agree with what you said, definitely with the preloved vs new, and going the route of latter. When I went back to BV I spoke with my S.A. and she said it was still an always sold out color, so I definitely still love mine. And I hope you're enjoying yours as well! May I ask what color you selected?
@@pamela_jiyoung I wanted the fondant colour at first and then I started getting into the colour plaster. I ended up getting the fondant colour since that was the one available at the boutique I went to. I also noticed there is a back order with a lot of the colours people go for.
@@kisyeuh Oh yes that one's gorgeous with the gold hardware. For me it was either fondant or caramel. At the time when I purchased mine last year (right before the pandemic), the caramel color was available first, and I had to buy it, since it was difficult to find.

it says calf padded strips on the bottega website so that is why I am left confused

@@pamela_jiyoung What do you think, would it be better ... for this wonderful bag ... to have an inner lining - possibly made of a thinner leather ?
GREAT VIDEO! Keep it up. i’d love to see more reviews like this, even for old luxury bags you own because you can discuss the wear & tear too.
