Idk if it's the shark that is making everything ruined. In real life in a marine ecosystem sharks are necessary to keep it balanced. The prevent over population of fish. I kinda think that it's something else like humans or maybe another sea monster that is ruining the area and the shark is the only thing string enough to survive. Then again I'm probably completely wrong and it's been the shark all along.
