I've been seriously pursuing streaming for just under 4 months now and I'm at 135 followers and 5.5 average viewers. I think the tip will help me the most from the video is fostering a very active chat and really engaging with people as much as possible. Already have affiliate, but the only reason I really wanted it was to have transcoding for viewers to be able to lower the quality of the stream and watch more easily if needed! Excited to keep growing the community and meeting new people. I'm sure I can be doing more to better the stream, but it's a slow process and not everyone likes to really give a critical opinion when asked for it, but your tips on being critical about your own content have been extremely helpful. My problems are, when I play a new game or a game I've been playing but not one people want, they leave instead of watching me play the game. I have a character and emotions and chat with people, but they only want to watch if I'm playing a specific game. Ex: I played Minecraft on stream for the first time, and no one wanted to stay unless I switched to another game I play. I still do have around 4-10 viewers, and some joined my discord server.

    • @StreamScheme

Everyone struggles with this, you become known for one game and struggle to change, you just have to do your best to engage directly with chat and make it about you instead of the game.

I'm a filmmaker too and I realized I didn't really like watching streams because they didn't have enough story or interaction. I figured that I could make a story each stream that also bled into a bigger story every month and create a ton of interaction through a bunch of programs that let the viewer completely interact with my PC, like inverting my controls, or shining a bright light in my face so I can't see my monitor, or even shielding me from that stuff; that way the viewer can also become a character in the story. Affiliates don't unlock stream quality, those are filtered down based on active users.

that's why ive been doing research and trying to improve the kind of storyteller/content creator that i want to be.
I've been binging your videos and i could say my last 3 streams after implementing your tips on the 10 minute recording, preplanning talk points and stream titles, ive felt more confident in my ability to stream and entertain in general, which shines through to the audience. my chat has been more active, and ive been able to retain more viewers from raids and to communicate with them.

Thank you very much for your tips! I started to stream about a month ago. Yesterday, I had 5.3 average viewers, with 10 viewers (max.) watching simultaneously. That was such an incredible feeling! I am struggling to attract new viewers during prime time though. That might be another valuable suggestion: if you stream at rather unusual times, you are easier to be found, and those viewers that found you then might come back during prime time. That seems to be working for me: the people which are coming by regularly initially discovered my channel when I was streaming on Saturday/Sunday morning. :)

Got other members of our group who are constantly trying to chase trends and pestering me about playing PVP games.. I do not like PVP, I am not into shooters and frankly, my viewers like the games I play already why should I just jump into a completely new genre just cause its 'what's trending'
Noooo thank you. Not interesting. I am doing three streams a week, 1 to 2 videos on youtube and my time if full enough already. When it comes to the last tip: About Micro-Fame.
I've found that I kinda end up doing that in some servers. Like I'll go around and try to be friendly and say Hi. I basically never mention my stream (cause that's the rudest of manners) but I'll become known and sometimes get viewers from that.
Should I just chill? Like I like going in and having a good time. The Streamers know my name, the community knows me, and I'm usually just the source of chaos that donates a ton to freak the streamer out or sparks up a meme every couple of streams. I don't do it for the chance to get a community that way but I won't deny that the idea of doing that has come to mind before.
Basically I'm just worried about whether or not the final point relates to me, how to recognize it, and how to fix that if it is related to me (I don't want my growth to be defined by my actions in other people's streams).

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 года назад +3

If you’re making friends purely to grow, then that’s what the last tip refers to, it’s a bit manipulative but also often doesn’t even work because people can tell.
If you’re just making friends and having fun, then they decide to support you, then that’s different :)
      Sounds like you’re fine.

for example you build a core viewership playing Horror Games, but in some point you want to play something like Borderlands or Skyrim but you don't want your viewers to go,
so you ask them what they want to see (between these two options).
the important part here is to comunicate with them?

Hit affiliate in July and my average viewers dropped off after due to contracting covid, so videos like this help loads.

I streamed for a few days about 6 months ago. I still have a loyal follower asking me to stream everytime I log into steam. He added me during a stream, love him

@@StreamScheme I can make all the excuses I want and the truth is probably that I’m to lazy to make time for it but I blame it on uni, I do study a lot... It was fun though! I streamed during my break and it was a really fun time

I've been streaming almost every day from the November 1st and tried out Minecraft, Terraria and Enter the Gungeon with a max of 1 stream reaching 2 viewers, but to be honest I wasnt entertaining and my streams were more like "come watch me do nothing" .. someone suggested I should stream warthunder and since I know german I think I'll to incorporate that into the stream, your videos helped me alot in seeing how I could improve, and this video taught me that a schedule isn't just "stream a random game at a set time", thanks!
