    Your knack for overcoming issues is inspiring. I've been limited to spraying outdoors (solvent-based) during the 5-6 months a year that temps, pollen, wind, and humidity permit.
    I don't do well in conceiving solutions, but I sure know one when I see one!

    Simple, inexpensive and effective spray booth venting!
    You inspired me to go down the Solarez I can’t believe it’s not Lacquer path and I am using wipe on processes. No spray or overspray. That fits the footprint of my basement shop under my residence. Venting a spray booth in my basement a bridge too far. I also adapted your downdraft table design for sanding and it works great! I get many excellent tips from your videos. Many thanks!

    Been fiddling with something similar! Using an ikea portable vinyl closet thing for $12 that got a square cut out of the back. Zips shut to keep dust to a minimum and flash off before moving. It’s tight tho, but can hang a set neck.
    Thanks for all these DIY vids they’re great inspiration!

    Great run through of your booth jig, Chris. This reminds me of the spray mount booths the ad agencies I used to work for had for mounting presentations. I know I could figure out how to build one of these from your video, but if you added a plan for it, it would make it simpler...and I could continue to support your RUclips efforts.

    Hi, I just watched your spray paint booth video (I am a subscriber and try to catch your videos as often as I can). I know you do new guitar builds but I am just getting started with building guitar bodies. I plan to learn more as I go and hopefully do entire new guitar builds.. I will be retiring in the next few years and thought I’d give this a try as a hobby. I don’t know if you have any suggestions for a project I am starting. I bought a 1980’s Korean Bullet Stratocaster that is in good working condition, with a poor finish, and it was cheap. I want to strip the old poly finish and refinish with a new flamed maple stained drop top. I am having trouble getting the old finish, very hard poly finish, off. Any suggestions how I can strip the body finish? Thanks Bryan

    One question I have is not really related to the spray booth, which I love. I am building another guitar and my last one is just a cut out blank. I am still confused of this centerline thing. everything I see or read says to use the glue line but what if I can't or don't want to? I just wish I could get a more detailed reason on this or a link to a good tutorial.

    • @gbish6906
      @gbish6906 2 года назад +1

      Every guitar has a centerline, however it doesn't necessarily need to be at the glue line, granted you're using a 2 piece body. I think from an aesthetic and ease of reference standpoint, the centre glue seam makes the most sense and is the cleanest looking (if your finish is transparent or translucent). But if you think of a 1 or 3 piece body, the centerlines are definitely not at a glue joint and there's no issues there.

    • @Viktory2k1
      @Viktory2k1 2 года назад

      @@gbish6906 OK, I cant use the glue line due to knots in the body blank and it will be painted so where do I start? All the videos and lessons I looked at say to start at the neck pocket, well, I don't have one because I have to have the centerline. It's like going in circles chasing my tail. Thank you for that bit of info!

    • @gbish6906
      @gbish6906 2 года назад

      @@Viktory2k1 I assume you are using a template that you will rout against. Your template should have a center line. Place your template on your body blank to find which parts of the wood you actually want on your guitar. From there, you reference the centre line on your template, and mark that on the body blank at the top and bottom. You probably want to pencil the entire perimeter at this stage too. Use a straight edge to connect the 2 marks you made. And theres your centerline

    • @Viktory2k1
      @Viktory2k1 2 года назад

      @@gbish6906 Thank you and I get that part but I have no stencil to go by unless I make one by eye, it is a dimebag darrel clone and I got it on ebay as junk and my other one is a draco look alike that I cut out as best I can with no plans. Thats the issue I am having, making the centerline with out any real plans or stencils.

    • @gbish6906
      @gbish6906 2 года назад

      @@Viktory2k1 you first need to start with a proper template. If you can find one online for what you want to build, great, you can print it out to full scale, glue it to some MDF and do your best to get as close to the line as possible. If you need to modify it to exactly what you want, you can do that too
