  • Father Day is here again.
If I could turn back the hands of time, I'd do these things.

I miss my dad so much. He died 2 years ago. He was 92. What a life he lived and incredibly great stories he told. I could, and did sit with him for hours listening to everything from him growing up during the Great Depression and how they had to sacrifice for the war effort during WWII as a kid. How at 10 years old he did man’s work on his Uncles dairy farm. He told me about the good times and the bonds he made with his Army buddies during the Korean War. He talked about the buddies that didn’t make it. I’d listen to his truck driving stories for hours. I sure miss him, but so thankful I had him for so long. Happy Father’s Day to all you dads!

As a grandfather now, I look back at the time I raised my son with great fondness. Father's Day allows us to contemplate our fatherhood. The good, the bad and the ugly. Mistakes were made but, I like to dwell on the good. My son, with his parents' guidance, grew into a great man, husband and father himself. He has two boys, a great job and a wonderful wife. I like to think his mom and I helped with that. If success is defined by the way your children grow up and succeed, I consider myself a good father. This Father's Day, I will celebrate the success of my son as a father and the guidance he received from his father!

Success is the wrong word, the current world requires money to succeed, good school, good college or even pay for sports for a scholarship. I reckon there are great dad's that are poor with honorable children that may drive a dump truck. I suppose when your son divorces it's your fault as well.

@jimjab3631 Success according to Oxford dictionary-"The achievement of a goal."

@jimjab3631 Man, you must have been slapped way too hard as a child for you to have such a cynical view of fatherhood. Fatherhood has nothing to do with the amount of money you make unless you're priorities are twisted. I hope you and your father find happiness on Father's Day. It sounds like there's some tension there!

Excellent video Mick excellent! You gave a lot of words of wisdom! I have two sons one is 45 the other is 41 soon to be 42! I always worked had decent job sometimes a real good job! I wish I had spent more time with my boys especially the youngest because I feel like I neglected him! So I call him and talk to him occasionally and try to get some common ground! My oldest he liked everything I did guns hunting bows plinking at the range with 22s and other guns! But my youngest he didn’t like much of this so I have regrets! But I see them as much as I can now! I pray God gives me wisdom and a strong desire to serve them and others. To love my neighbor and serve God first and then my family with all my strength and love! God Bless You Mick happy father’s Day!❤️

Don’t wait for the government to tell you to appreciate fatherhood. Presence in life requires no external programming. Embrace your gratitude spontaneously. Tell your Dad you love him and let him know what you’re up to. It’s what he really needs.

I wonder if people could create a "National Day of Men's Reflection" for men the day after Father's Day to be honest with oneself and evaluate where we are in our lives and what we want to change that we can. I know myself i have made the mistake of not living for my life but just working for a "someday to make a life for myself" type of mindset. Now being over 50 and recovering from what seems like 50 years of health issues i again am back to working on getting my health back and even having to find or rediscover my life after losing my dog Buddy of over 10 years back this easter Sunday. It was literally just an hour maybe after burying my dog that i remembered i had got him originally as i had no reason to get out of the house and i am back to the same damn position without him.
And i do enjoy listening to your ideas or insight that you come across for life and want to say thank you for posting these types of videos.

Great message, thank you. I'm very deliberate about zooming out and really soaking in things with my son. He's turning 4 in a couple of months. Holding him is a big one for me. I know one of these days he's going to stop asking me to. So I soak it in every time. He's such a cool little dude. Enjoying the ride❤
    Happy father's day, sir!

Just a observation mic, I lived in the here and now when I was younger, believed in that mentality. Well the fact of the matter is for ME MYSELF this was about as selfish as could be...once I became a father...anyone can be a dad. I could consider a regret or a learning tool, as I live through things being quite relevant to the mentality of life here and now, do not confuse this with the reason you must live for the past the present and the futures that pass to my children 5 of them, I didn't have to live for this or that at the moment simply because my children where always aware of what here and now was whilst understanding what before had and after may hold, I told them only truths no matter what, so I can actually say I have no regrets and my children know who and why I am who I am because they where in it with me.❤ Happy Father's day y'all
