I can tell you bro, Jonah was a legend.
I am from NZ. I played rugby
from 5 years old. I remember when Jonah first
appeared at age 19.He was a giant 6’5゛ and over 260Lb. And he was fast. Legs like tree trunks. No one could stop him. People were scared to tackle him.
He was like a steam train.
The All Blacks secret weapon, he won many games for New Zealand.
    We all loved him.
When he died in 2015 it tore a hole in the hearts of all of New
    Zealand.

Hands down the best there was. The goat in rugby rip mate. Met him twice when he was coaching the cardiff rugby club near my way in wales. The size and speed and power on him and the amount of players it took to try and deal with him. He makes it look easy but people forget all the top rugby international teams were the best of the best and he just smashed through the lot!

He passed away in 2015 due to long term kidney disease and a heart attack I believe. He was 6'5 261 pounds, he ran 10.8 for the 100m, and at the time in Rugby there where no guys his size that could move like him or run as fast as that. Now there are lots of guy's in the game his size, but I don't know of any that match his speed. RIP Jona Lomu.

There are certainly Jonah Lomu like players out there, the Tuilaga brothers, Savea brothers, etc, but still not quite like him. A semi fit Jonah would still dominate today. People forget that he still dominated in the early 2000's, and the physiques and weight of players were no less impressive then as they are are now. The wallabies fielded one of the largest backlines ever, each of them 100+kg with the likes of sterling Mortlock, Ben Tune, Latham, etc back in 2000. He had no problems steamrolling them.

Lomu was a Tongan grew up in NZ and like many Islanders be it Tongan, Samoans, or Fijians, many are able to be given a much better opportunity to play for bigger countries because of their athletic talents.
It's like MLB getting the best baseball talents from South America.

When he exploded into our tv screens, news paper and onto our rugby fields, I can say, we were freaked at this guys talent.
Much love by NZ, and respected in the world of rugby.
Might never see another player at this calibre ever again. Rear Talent. Rip "Big Fella." What a joy to watch, pubs, sports clubs, homes shook as he hit the ball full speed. Woooow.
Mc Caw was the all black captain, tackles anybody, none gets past.
He said, surely I can tackle him, easy. He said, took him on, came off second best there first time meeting him on the field.
React to Christian Cullen#15(retired ab full back)retired AB Captain, Mc Caw, best captain I believe, he would be a contender to goat of rugby, if Lomu never existed.

Thanks for your inquiries on who is the GOAT in rugby. To be honest, there are only two rugby players, Jonah Lomu and Rupeni Caucaunibuca, who is considered the greatest, but one thing that causes a division among rugby fans is the time period both players played in. In rugby, there are two era being measured that caused a major shift that saw rugby becoming a major sports and players getting bigger. One era is before it became a professional sports, during Jonah Lomu's time, teams in its cities or even national teams didn't have experts in nutrition programs or physical workouts compared to the professional era, during Rupeni Caucaunibuca, which happened around year 2000, where players got bigger, faster, and stronger and finally got paid. But you might ask why Lomu is strangely bigger than the rest, well, his Polynesian of Tongan ancestry. And there are a lot of big Tongans in the NFL. To give an proper example of this to rugby great playing style, Lomu is like Walter Payton or Bo Jackson. So powerful and fast for his size, but Rupeni Caucaunibuca is like Barry Sanders. Shorter than Lomu, yet had incredible speed and incredible elusiveness.
    PS
sorry for the lack of respect made by those trolls on your previous inquiry, as you know, every family has one rotten apple. However, I like to welcome an American like you to our rugby family that truly loves fans across the globe. Checkout this FB page:

Jonah was the youngest New Zealand Rugby Union player ever at the age of 18. He played the majority of his rugby in New Zealand however he did spend some of his time playing in England as well. During his time playing he was diagnosed with a kidney disease that he kept playing with. He passed away at the age of 40 due to this disease. In New Zealand and possibly around the world he is considered one of the greatest of all time.
This a link to a haka that his former team mates that former school mate profomed at his funeral that will possibly show you so of high regard he was held in New Zealand and around the world.

Funnily enough, Jonah was a New Zealander and it's generally non-New Zealanders who think he is the GOAT. Like you said, he's similar to Bo Jackson. Bo wouldn't be considered the greatest NFL player compared to being the best freak athlete.
