There's a new album by the band Shokran, a cromulent prog metalcore/technical death metal. If Wise Man's Fear is fantasy-core, I am Abomination is Ancient alien-core, Shokran is Ancient Egypt-core. Also I just today learned that they are from my home country of Russia, which surprised me.
Thank you for this comment, I've really liked what I've heard from both Wise Man's Fears and I Am Abomination and I really enjoy Ancient Egyptology. Looking this up now, cheers.
I just got notified that my pre order of the intervals album shipped today. I was flattered as hell at the unexpected shout out. Especially cuz I am really baked right now, I wasn't expecting to be talked about lol. Thanks man!! I feel the same when looking forward to when we FINALLY get new shadow of intent music cuz I know you're the huge fan. I think you'd do a better review on a potential new shadow of intent album than I would. How are they gonna release what I think is the best song of their career, the migrant, and then leave us hangin? I totally agree with you on attack attack. I was never a fan of the reunion or even the 3rd album after Johnny left. So glad he stuck with Bilmuri instead. Great video!
Haha of course man, we gotta help each other out whenever we can you know. I'm hoping Shadow of Intent is just writing epic songs in the mean time! I don't think it would make sense for Johnny or Caleb to go back to Attack Attack. They have so much creative freedom doing their own thing and they're doing it better than what AA!gave us lol
@@AmongTheFence I hope you enjoy the intervals album. The CD didn't come in and I wanted to wait til it got here to hear it all but I probably won't wait lol. For their third release, a voice within, intervals had a vocalist for that one. I actually saw em live in that era but it was very short lived. Then the whole lineup except Aaron quit so he has had different lineups of session people every album since then I believe. I'm with you on alot of instrumental music failing to be interesting even when there is technical prowess. There's like those 3 or 4 that stand out with the songwriting for me and I'd put intervals on top. Polyphia in there for sure too and Chon. I'm picky as hell with it tho.
Thank you so much for watching!! What are you looking forward to this week and what should I review next?!?
Bro you forgot about pallbearer mind burns alive the only thing I can think of that would make up for the fact that you missed this album is review it
Haha dang I didn't even see that one! I'm still planning on reviewing LMTF but I'll probably be able to do Paulbearer too
@@AmongTheFence bro you made a huge typo
Was it memory palace?
