I need some help. I need a noise canceling set to work from home. So id like it to have a muting button not head set. I do don’t understand the difference between the two that are said. Can u please recommend.
Hi @user-jh9pt3xr9k! Thanks for watching and submitting your question. Some headsets include a noise canceling mic that helps suppress background noise around you so when you are speaking, the person on the other end isn't distracted by it. A mute button is available in some headsets. When Mute button is pressed/activated, it blocks out all noise including your voice. No sound will be transmitted while Mute is enabled. What will you be connecting the headset to? Desk phone - What brand/model? If a computer, what softphone or UC/Video platform are you using? i.e. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, 8x8, RingCentral, etc. USB-A or USB-C? Mobile device? Does it support Bluetooth? The more info I have about you set up and what you are trying to accomplish, the better I can help.
The noise canceling is only for the microphone? Does it cancel also in the earphones? I am searching for a headphone who cancels barking noise when listening to multimedia, any recommendations? Thanks, Kris.
Hi Kris, correct. This particular headset has a Noise Canceling microphone. It does not have Active Noise Canceling (ANC) speakers. There are several headsets that include a Noise Canceling mic and ANC Speakers. The challenge is no ANC headset or headphones I've tested blocks the headset/headphone wearer from hearing a barking dog by enabling ANC alone, including consumer models from Sony, Bose, and Microsoft. From my tests, if you are wear an ANC headset and are streaming music fairly loud, it does suppress background noise from being heard.
