Man, I love how Naruto really sympathizes with Kawaki. He knows that he had a rough past and he tries to help him get well and get through his trauma. What a nice Hokage/Dad/Man.
I like how not just Naruto, but everyone in the room was concerned right away about Kawaki's reaction. Ino worked with mentally troubled kids with Sakura. Sarada has always been cognizant about people's emotions. And of course, Naruto knows better then anyone what Kawaki's going through right now. Kawaki just being in Konoha away from Jigen (his latest abuser) is the best thing that happened to him so far.
Sarada probably understood that he's dealing with something at the very least that's leaving him seriously disturbed. Maybe she didn't understand to the extent that Ino and Naruto and Sumire did, but she knew enough to be legit concerned and that's enough imo.
Ino helped open up clinics that specialize in helping traumatized youths after the war with Sakura. I think one of the novels Kishimoto wrote brings it up.
The way kawaki just relaxes is amazing, it shows that Naruto hasn't changed and that Kawaki is just a very traumatized child. This scene was very wholesome and the anime delivered!

If you read my comment, I explain why he couldn't. The TL;DR version comes down to public knowledge. Everyone in the village knew Naruto was the Jinchuriki. The average citizen would have felt uneasy about their leader adopting the vessel of the monster that destroyed their homes and families. Other than a few authorized ninja and the other Kage, the average citizen is unaware of Kawaki and his powers. They just see him as an orphan from some small village.

That hugging scene was the highlight of the episode it made me tear up and almost cry ngl. Whole scene in flower shop was on point Sarada concern, Ino and Naruto as well. 10/10 episode ❤
Kakashi: He's not going to give up on his dream... and the real world. His actions attracts his comrades. You feel like you want to help him. The more people supporting him, the closer he will get to his goal.

Naruto and Gaara be having one of the most tragic childhood and found peace at last in their hearts after fighting for it. Now adopting boys (Kawaki and Shinki) with tragic life and giving them the "hug" they have always wanted to feel when they were young. They will never let someone feel the same pain and loneliness or solitude they went through. Damn, Gaara and Naruto came a long way. I am so proud
I can relate with Kawaki, though I have never had a decent father. I have fictional fathers to tell me all will be ok. Ptsd sucks, you are scared from the inside and the terrible things that happened to you will never leave your mind. My older sister saved me from my abusive home and when I saw how normal families are. Ugh its hard to put into words. I felt like a caveman in her home for the longest time. The best part is living with animals. I space out constantly, having flashbacks like twenty times a day but my dog with nudge my hand or my cats will purr against my legs. Hell one cat is so energetic he climbs my body like a cat tower. I am grateful

How many people who carry difficult pasts in their lives are sometimes misunderstood and rejected. Sometimes the world doesn't see that they just need someone to offer their hand and support to help them come out of the darkness and sadness. For these things, Naruto is incomparable, the depth and meaning of this scene is simply magnificent.

That poor kid was having a ptsd flashback/panic attack. (He felt the past trauma/event over again and then his body/mind reacted.) I know someone who used to have these bad. Their heart would speed up, they'd start sweating/breathing fast, they felt like they had to run away and freeze up/stay still all at the same time. The mind gets overloaded with thoughts and panic. It's a hellish feeling. He was able to sort of hold it together impressively considering.
He doesn't love kawaki more. He's just helping him feel safe after being traumatized and hugging him to calm down from a panic attack. How does this show he doesn't love boruto much? He isn't showing any more affection than he would to Boruto or anyone else

Kawaki deserves the love and affection he's getting since he has such a traumatic past, but Boruto was shunned by Naruto ever since his dad became hokage. To the point where Naruto couldn't even attend his birthday even though he's like what 12 years old? Kawaki shows up and Naruto is suddenly able to be home in order to "watch" Kawaki when he couldn't make time for his own family bc of his Hokage duties before. He even sent a shadow clone to his daughters birthday but he's able to be in person for Kawaki just because Kawaki is seen as a "threat". In reality using that logic Boruto is just as much of a threat since he has the same karma seal but Naruto doesn't pay enough attention to his biological son in order to realize that. The only difference is Kawaki is being hunted by Kara, which is a fearsome, twisted organization they don't know much about besides for messing up Kawaki mentally. I dont wanna bash Kawaki since he's probably my favorite character but it'd probably hurt Boruto seeing his dad suddenly have all this time for some stranger that tried to choke out the class rep and literally escaped prison.

The fact that naruto would go out of his way to help people like kawaki because he understands what they went through,even thought it meant death like what he did with gaara,is proof that he deserves to be hokage and one of the greatest anime characters of all time
If Boruto had started out like this, with this arc... I think more people would have been willing to have given this anime a chance. Because this arc is really really good. Its referencing so much of the original Naruto story beats, Kawaki is an interesting and troubled kis, and - it gives Boruto a reason to be a bit bitter towards his dad. Gives him a reasonable character flaw to get over.
It's these type of scenes that cement Boruto as a successful follow up to Naruto. Not only giving us a interesting story with new characters, but showing us the totality of growth Naruto achieved by the end of Shippuden.
I feel like when Naruto hugged Kawaki, he poured his own chakra into him, clearing his anxiety and calming his thoughts. This show can get really spiritual, considering that chakra exist within every living being.
Sage of six paths create Ninshu to connect people spiritually through chakra. He believed that by sharing chakra with one another, people could understand each other's feelings and thoughts promoting peace and unity. I wish Naruto showed the role of Sage of six paths more.
Damn, as someone who has had panic attacks before, they nailed this feeling down well. Showing him hyperventilating, eyes wide, almost ready to lash out in a fight or flight kind of manor. Naruto handled this well too. Just a calm its alright before hugging him. Didn't scold him or over-react. This anime man, its been incredible. Loving this arc so far.
I’ve many people take this scene as a way to trash on boruto and naruto’s bond/relationship. “Naruto loves Kawaki more than Boruto”😑I think some people need to understand that it’s easier to comfort someone who has had the same hardships as you. Just because we haven’t seen Naruto do this to Boruto doesn’t mean their bond isn’t strong.👍

How many people who carry difficult pasts in their lives are sometimes misunderstood and rejected. Sometimes the world doesn't see that they just need someone to offer their hand and support to help them come out of the darkness and sadness. For these things, Naruto is incomparable, the depth and meaning of this scene is simply magnificent.

That poor kid was having a ptsd flashback/panic attack. (He felt the past trauma/event over again and then his body/mind reacted.)
I know someone who used to have these bad. Their heart would speed up, they'd start sweating/breathing fast, they felt like they had to run away and freeze up/stay still all at the same time. The mind gets overloaded with thoughts and panic. It's a hellish feeling. He was able to sort of hold it together impressively considering.

He doesn't love kawaki more. He's just helping him feel safe after being traumatized and hugging him to calm down from a panic attack. How does this show he doesn't love boruto much? He isn't showing any more affection than he would to Boruto or anyone else

Kawaki deserves the love and affection he's getting since he has such a traumatic past, but Boruto was shunned by Naruto ever since his dad became hokage. To the point where Naruto couldn't even attend his birthday even though he's like what 12 years old? Kawaki shows up and Naruto is suddenly able to be home in order to "watch" Kawaki when he couldn't make time for his own family bc of his Hokage duties before. He even sent a shadow clone to his daughters birthday but he's able to be in person for Kawaki just because Kawaki is seen as a "threat". In reality using that logic Boruto is just as much of a threat since he has the same karma seal but Naruto doesn't pay enough attention to his biological son in order to realize that. The only difference is Kawaki is being hunted by Kara, which is a fearsome, twisted organization they don't know much about besides for messing up Kawaki mentally.
I dont wanna bash Kawaki since he's probably my favorite character but it'd probably hurt Boruto seeing his dad suddenly have all this time for some stranger that tried to choke out the class rep and literally escaped prison.

it's so heartwarming how Naruto calmed kawaki down by hugging him and letting him rest, Naruto. is so warm and sweet. I think after this moment Naruto will be like a home or comfort place to kawaki
The fact that naruto would go out of his way to help people like kawaki because he understands what they went through,even thought it meant death like what he did with gaara,is proof that he deserves to be hokage and one of the greatest anime characters of all time
If Boruto had started out like this, with this arc... I think more people would have been willing to have given this anime a chance.
Because this arc is really really good. Its referencing so much of the original Naruto story beats, Kawaki is an interesting and troubled kis, and - it gives Boruto a reason to be a bit bitter towards his dad. Gives him a reasonable character flaw to get over.

It's these type of scenes that cement Boruto as a successful follow up to Naruto. Not only giving us a interesting story with new characters, but showing us the totality of growth Naruto achieved by the end of Shippuden.

I feel like when Naruto hugged Kawaki, he poured his own chakra into him, clearing his anxiety and calming his thoughts. This show can get really spiritual, considering that chakra exist within every living being.
Sage of six paths create Ninshu to connect people spiritually through chakra. He believed that by sharing chakra with one another, people could understand each other's feelings and thoughts promoting peace and unity. I wish Naruto showed the role of Sage of six paths more.
The music during his ptsd scenes sounds just like the intro card from the movie US
Damn, as someone who has had panic attacks before, they nailed this feeling down well. Showing him hyperventilating, eyes wide, almost ready to lash out in a fight or flight kind of manor. Naruto handled this well too. Just a calm its alright before hugging him. Didn't scold him or over-react. This anime man, its been incredible. Loving this arc so far.

I’ve many people take this scene as a way to trash on boruto and naruto’s bond/relationship. “Naruto loves Kawaki more than Boruto”😑I think some people need to understand that it’s easier to comfort someone who has had the same hardships as you. Just because we haven’t seen Naruto do this to Boruto doesn’t mean their bond isn’t strong.👍
People are just using this to take potshots at Boruto. It's pretty annoying and dumb.
