I was at a tattoo convention many years ago. I saw this woman that had a beautiful full back piece (a lion and cubs). It struck me as so beautiful. I asked her if I could take a picture of it. She said "you're not going to copy it" (in a really snotty way). I looked at her like I just smelled shit then turned and showed her my back, I was wearing a halter top. My back is covered, full color top to bottom. I then just kept walking. Suddenly her tattoo wasn't so pretty to me anymore.

when i was like 11, i went to a houston astros game and after the game, ray knight threw balls out to all the kids at the dugout, i got the last ball, and a grown ass man took the ball from my hands. ray saw it and yelled at the guy, and went to go get another ball, but it was the last one on the field. he said sorry and signed my shirt, but i cried all the way home. i STILL remember that feeling, like 40 years ago. my first major disappointment in adults as a child

Thats so f*cked up. I had a crazy guy try to do that to me at a red sox game when I was a teenager. At batting practice I got a ball David Oritz hit. Grabbed it on the ground and as I brought it up to my chest and showed my friend this crazy guy tried taking it out of my hands and tried ripping the ball away from me. I was actually in shock for a second like wtf is happening but luckily I held on and started going like “wtf are you doing man?!” He stopped but that whole time during batting practice before the game he was running around trying to do the same thing to other kids and people. The security guard saw him and I believe kicked him out before the game even started. I honestly dont understand grown as$ adults who do sh*t like that. You see it a lot at all sporting events. I remember this hockey video of an NHL player trying to give a little kid a puck but since theres that giant plexiglass wall he was to toss it over and this dude kept stealing the pucks from the kid. The NHL player kept throwing pucks to give to the kid and the grown as$ man kept stealing them, he took like 3 or 4 straight pucks from the kid. The NHL player eventually got the puck to the kid and I believe gave him a stick too. As an adult now, even if I caught a ball or something myself, I would give it to a kid near me (which you will luckily see some people do)

This was a huge confidence booster for me in 20s. That said.... the idea that you will ask a person to sit elsewhere when they are already sitting there is definitely main character syndrome. It’s wrong to accuse someone of not having a disorder because you don’t see then acting like the stereotypical person that has anxiety. A lot of people doing normal things mask it and take meds. When the husband passed, I could feel the grief in that room. The wife begged to go with him (she died a couple days later). I had to lock myself in the charge nurse’s office for a few minutes and put myself together. I couldn’t imagine going through that grief and thinking to record it on camera.

I saw a 38 year old man (he was a SO of a family member) pretend to act “traumatized” and go on and on to everyone who was visiting their loved one who had been airlifted to the hospital after being hit by a drunk driver because he went into the hospital to detox from alcohol for 2 days a week earlier. He hung out there all day trying to convince people how hard his life was when mommy and daddy are paying every bill he has. Then when people ignored him told everyone he was suicidal because he could only stay 2 days at the beach for his birthday now instead of 3 because they had to go visit the family member in the hospital.

Having social, anxiety and learning, how to navigate the outside world should not be like that just going to the grocery store and shopping is an exercise for people with anxiety just getting out there and pushing yourself to do the normal things that you find scary that is challenging your anxiety and getting you used to the outside world the way she is doing it makes no sense to me
