Your video is extremely useful for students. In Canada, we put our laundry into the dryer most of the time but we may hang something delicate like silk pillow case up. I myself don’t have a dish washer but many people in North America prefer to put their dirty dishes into their dish washer after they eat. ❤🎉

@bbclearningenglish: Excellent video. Here is the example: Turn on: Please turn on the radio. There is an important announcement from the goverment. Pick up: If you want to make a better cook you have to pick up the right ingredients. Clean Up: They are going to clean up this mess. Throw away: Asif throw his past incident away. Wash up: I will wash up your clothes right now. Put Away: Put the knives away from the kitchen. Take out: I took out your letter. Hang up: If you want to hang up your clothes please put them on a washing line. And finally here is the missing phrasal verb in this sentence: Make sure you put the toys away when you're finished playing with them
👍 Excellent examples! 🤓 Here are a few minor corrections: - If you want to BE a better cook you have to pick up the right ingredients. - Asif THREW his past incident away. - Put the knives away IN the kitchen.
Author if you read this comment, please explain the use of followed by. For example in providing Verbs followed by the gerund. Why this translation: verbs followed by the gerund. Or is the translation wrong? If followed is a participle it means the verb follows (somewhere). If the 2nd form of the verb means the verb followed in general. But in this case both are wrong.
'Followed by something' is an example of the passive. You can learn more about it here: www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/course/intermediate/unit-12/tab/grammar
