I gave my sister a book recently "A river of golden boys" by A. K. Mulford. I actually gifted my sister 12 books, 1 book for each month. I picked them out and wrapped them and she gets to open one book on the first day of the month. It's so much fun! I researched and came up with new books which she loved! I would reccomend doing that for a loved one!!

For the record, I would watch the "Off With Your Head" book tag. 😆
The last book I gifted someone was a copy of 'Elsewhere' by Gabrielle Zevin to a long-distance friend of mine, so we could read together! It was a favorite of mine and very impactful to me growing up and she expressed interest in reading it too. It will be interesting revisiting it to see if I still recommend it!

I used to also shy or cringe away from giving "cliché" answers. But then I came to embrace them because they became that for a reason. They are typically so well written and have resonated with so many people in so many ways that we have to applaud the authors for that! Especially since many of them connect to our childhoods, which are extremely impressionable years.

    My answers to the tag:
Favorite Picture Book: Pandekagekagen by Sven Nordqvist
Book Series I Loved as a Child: Pedersen & Findus by Sven Nordqvist
Worst book I've read or tried to read: Hitman Damnation by Raymond Benson
Favorite reading or book memory: The release party for my own debut novel

    1. I don't really remember any picture books from my childhood. So I'm going to pass on this one.
    2. The power of five series by Anthony Horowitz. I loved ravens gate growing up, it was the perfect blend of exciting, scary and suspenseful. And to this day I still enjoy it, but it's not as epic as I remember.
    3. Ready player 2 is the first thing that pops into my mind whenever I think of 1 star reads. God I can't believe that book exists sometimes.
    4. I really don't know, pass
    5. The Martian
    6. Vicious. I need that book to be adapted in some way, shape or form like yesterday.
    7. Sade from where sleeping girls lie. I think she's awesome and I think we'd probably get along.
    8. I guess Japan, but I can't really associate that with a book.
    9. The ultimate history of video games. It's exactly what it says on the tin, and it's super fascinating.
    10. I never like these questions because I know I'd just be super awkward. I'd love to meet Phillip Pullman, but hang out with him, no.

The last book I gifted? Actually this is a 2 for 1. My mother came to visit during April, and I'd set aside some books for an upcoming unhaul. I decided to offer her my Illumicrate edition of The Ivory Key, with the blue sprayed edges and note from the author. She seemed more intrigued by it than I was. And because my brother's birthday was coming up right after she was due to fly back home, I gave her this Wizard's Spellbook (I can't really remember the title) which I think was basically a fan made binding of random spells set for the Harry Potter universe, which my brother is a huge fan of.

My book memory was reading Hamlet in high school😅 my English teacher was also the drama teacher and I was in the drama club. While they were rehersing a scene I wasn't in, I was working on homework. To be clear, I loved Hamlet. It's such an interesting look into paranoia and mental illness. Anyway, I got to the famous "To be or not to be" soliloquy. With the context, I realized for the first time that it's about suicide. As a teen who struggled with that, I found the poem relatable. To this day, I recite that poem over and over when I get in that headspace. That poem is able to put into words an experience i cant seem to put into words. even with the old English, it's beautiful. I've looked up every word so when i recite it, i know exactly what I'm actually saying😅 that poem single handedly made Shakespeare classic as far as I'm concerned

I have 2 younger cousins who are graduating high school this month. One this weekend and one next weekend. I got them both a copy of OH The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss. I feel like that's a perfect graduation gift. When I was like 14, I said I hoped I got it as a grad gift. My grandparents bought it then, then gave it to me when I graduated. It's one of the few grad gifts I still have. I always notice it on the bookshelf or remember I have it at just the right moments. When I'm feeling down, I read it a few times and remember that someone believes in me and that the ups and downs are equally normal and important in life. I could literally recite that book almost entirely from memory
