I'm embarrassed to admit that I've just now discovered the music of Dan Forrest, a modern master.
I'm sincerely grateful to have lived to witness the death of atonality and experimentalism and the renaissance of serious music that mature people can actually enjoy.
It's interesting to notice that this renaissance has taken place from the bottom up. The major philharmonics and opera companies are yet trying to force feed the audience "advanced" music, while smaller ensembles are playing inspiring music.
    Hats off, ladies and gentlemen!

movement was one of the hardest oh my lordy, just to keep everyone together on those fast notes :P half way through i had a pinkie cramp hahaha ( violinist ). Still was an awesome experience and after the 40 minutes were up I was shaking so hard it was crazy and super hungry, but I will never forget that moment when sanctus kicked in and we were so perfectly in tune, with this wave emotion coming over me and I had this big dopey grin on my face.
    God Bless you Dan Forrest.

Very beautiful, just heard about this work tonight, and got hooked instantly, and bought it! Wonderful recording btw and it is a joy to have contemporary composers who manage to remain contemporary while producing something that still sounds classical. 10/10

I'm singing this with the UMKC Conservatory Concert Choir (directed by Dr. Jennaya Robison) and this is by far everyone's favorite movement! It's so lively and fun to sing!

I think this is one of the best songs I have sang with my University's choir (St Edward's, under the great hand of Dr Morris Stevens). Thank you Dan Forrest for this beautiful piece! It was a pleasure to sing tenor for this song.
And even though Psalm of Ascension is also beautiful, you should maybe reconsider some of the parts for the tenors there...having us all the song between passaggio and a high A, all full voice, is a little bit stressing -beautiful, but stressing hahaha.
    Thank you for your musicianship!

When your playing percussion but 3 days before the concert they tell you, that you have to play both percussion parts at the same time.
    Yeah so that's happening.

    2. Vanitas Vanitatum
    원문 (라틴어):
    Vanitas vanitatum, omnia vanitas!
    Cogitationes mortalium timidae,
    et incertae adinventiones nostrae.
Umbra sumus et lux tua, Domine,
    in aeternum.
