Took me over 30 to finally marry the one girl I could never forget. This song was 2 years before her and I met but when she would be down on herself, this song would make me think of what I wanted to say to her to bring her back up. We went our own ways (I was military and was transferred, she went off the college, I was 19, she was 17). But though we both had gotten married, life events made it possible to do what we should have done 30+ years before. We been marred now for going on 15 years. After my mom died 24 Feb 2023 my father used to sing this song a lot. He even wrote down all the lyrics from listing and pausing the song. Took me over 30 to finally marry the one girl I could never forget. This song was 2 years before her and I met but when she would be down on herself, this song would make me think of what I wanted to say to her to bring her back up. We went our own ways (I was military and was transferred, she went off the college, I was 19, she was 17). But though we both had gotten married, life events made it possible to do what we should have done 30+ years before. We been marred now for going on 15 years.
