Good catch on defn of reducible- what is even cooler is that you and the class caught it! I always appreciated those moments when I taught. You make very few errors and your class is following.
I was in high school probably around when you were and the rational root test was indeed in my text book. I believe Descartes rule of signs was in that same unit. Really enjoying your lectures.
Thanks, glad you are enjoying the lectures. What you said reminds me that I was actually looking over my high school "math analysis" notes a year or two ago and I couldn't believe what I saw. My high school teacher actually taught us basic elements of both abstract algebra and real analysis. I hadn't remembered that he had done that. There was stuff in there about groups, rings, and fields and then there was also stuff about epsilon-delta proofs. I guess I just assumed at the time that it was part of the standard curriculum.

Thanks! It does feel like I'm making more and more errors as the years go by though!

In mod p irreducibility test how to choos prime p??
Usually it is best to just try low values of p and see if they work or not. Sometimes, however, no value of p works.
@@billkinneymath Yeah okay Sir...So we have to check one by one from small p...
@@GopinathShanmugam Yes
@@billkinneymath Ok sir.. I understood.. Thank you so much sir
Hello Sir, which book you are following?
Contemporary Abstract Algebra, 9th edition, by Joseph Gallian.
@@billkinneymath Thank you sir for your prompt response
