Adrian Tang she was a crow the whole time, she was the princess but something happened and all her subjects/other birds turned black (I'm not racist) and their wings were removed, when she restored peace they regained color and she returned to her normal for. That's why she stretched her arms out at the end. She knew she was going back to normal.
