@unionempirex LOL, omg both of them are so hurt, they might not be able to play the 2nd half. - Hockey player with both knees destroy, fused, spin, a dozen missing teeth... and still plays gentlemen league at 55.
Oilers fan here he does do that alot but the only exception is the hit from lucic he didnt act hurt at all he just got sent off bc of concussion protocol
There's a great one from 2003, Leafs/Senators 1st game of the season. Late in the 3rd Corson accidentally taps Chara with his stick and Zdeno drops like he was shot.
When someone fakes an injury when I replay clearly shows they weren't even touched it should be an automatic 20 game suspension. It would stop this shit real fast.
Let’s be real, Hasek was the most believable one here. If anything, the melodrama he gave it added to the authenticity. I think if he waited like a quarter of a second longer and didn’t get up as quickly, no one would have known
I hate divers. Have some respect for the game and have some respect as an adult. Inexcusable. Also, terrible by the refs. If you don’t actually see it, don’t make the call based on the player’s reaction.
Those skates have absolutely 0 padding around the ankle area. That slash on Thornton I think was real. Looked like he got hit on the ankle and that would kill especially if your weight is already on it. Only one I am iffy about on this list. The leverage on those sticks is more than it looks like.
Still can't see how Kovalev's was a faking an injury moment. He gets chopped in the back clearly and goes down, that shit hurts so I wouldn't put it past him that time. 2nd one obviously yeah that was a fake, but first one honestly should have been suspension worthy and the fact the refs call nothing there is a joke and shows how good modern hockey is compared to the shit we got in the 90s lol
They embellish because a lot of referees fall for it. The embellishment penalty has helped but refs rarely call it by itself, almost always 2 players get penalties.
Sometimes having a stick come up near your face makes you have a reactionary response that takes few seconds to me sure that you didn’t just get cut up
Pre-emptively... I wait to see the highlight of: Alex Kovalev faking that his hand is fucked, while the ensuing opposing rush scores Edit: Ayyy I was right! Last highlight of the vid!
This is why I think penalty calls should be reviewable by the penalized team. If overturned the team originally penalized should get a 5 min power play. Sure would discourage embellishment a lot more…
The bruins are the most delusional team out there. Terrible, biased commentators. It’s embarrassing. Now they’re going to be a lottery team. Put looch on the first line lol
No doubt a lot of these are blatantly faking, but flinching during a high stick is just a natural reaction to something coming that close to your face. I've had this happen numerous times while playing hockey where the stick never touches you but you still feel something hit your face, so naturally you flinch and reach for your mouth/nose. But I mean, not every player is gonna pull a Voracek and tell the ref after he see's the replay.
Let’s be real, Hasek was the most believable one here. If anything, the melodrama he gave it added to the authenticity. I think if he waited like a quarter of a second longer to fall and didn’t get up as quickly, no one would have known
Let's be honest, though. This is relatively rare in hockey, especially when you compare it to, say, soccer.
Or basketball
you cannot compare a SPORT to a jog in the park
It's pretty much because you can get a penalty for doing this. Soccer would be a completely different sport if "embellishment" existed.
@@cbcreate8984you can get penalised for diving in football (soccer) - happens pretty frequently

Forgot about Mike Smith and his many "Injuries" he miraculously heals from in seconds

The Marchand all star game moment was so god damn funny
Hockey players faking injuries just hit different
It is anathema to being a hockey player, indeed.
it's amazing how people don't talk about how much of a diver Jumbo Joe was
That one dive always made me think he was a giant bitch.
Ah, the last one. Probably the most famous embellishment ever.
Kovalev deserve that, he fucked Quebec Nordiques Joe Sakic and finally back to haunted him LOL
Who was the player?

2:18 That is a slash that couldn’t have crushed a grape! That one was funny and you could tell the goalie was faking it
he wasn't expecting it, so it's not as much of an embellishment as you might think
@@collasalbot7900 That is most certainly a huge embellishment
Always very hard to watch the last clip 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome video!

The Mike Ribero one is unironically one the funniest things I’ve ever seen
Oh the satisfaction when Murray scored lmao
When soccer players become professional hockey players...
The last one is the definition of karma
2:55 "call a dive"
Meanwhile, Stamkos broke his leg mid-game and still tried to stand. Absolute stud.
Leave it to Marchand to dive at the all star game lmao
the dallas goaltender selling the marchand slash was comedy gold

this is such a short compilation, imagine soccer, baseball, literally any other sports length off they did this!
When someone fakes an injury when I replay clearly shows they weren't even touched it should be an automatic 20 game suspension. It would stop this shit real fast.
They don't even do that for blatant cheap shots, maybe only a couple game suspension

One thing I love about hockey is they don’t flop very often
4:55 not sure about this 1
Marchands all star was a trip.
Shoutout to the Blackhawks announcers for calling out their own player's embellishment
Maxim Lapierre did a fair amount of embellishing in his career and this is coming for an habs fan

there needs to be off ice reviews with a 5 game suspension if found to be faking if the ref's didn't make the call on ice

That last one woulda been fine if his teammate didn’t run into him
See, at least for hockey the compilation is under 6 minutes, but you could have a 6 hour compilation with other sports (sorry soccer and basketball 🤫)
What I've come to notice is half of these clips Come from the "tough" ones or the big mouths.
😂 😂 😂
What a great way to instantly lose all respect for a lot of players. I've got no tolerance for this, leave it to the soccer players.
we all knew ithis was going to be full of Marchand antics
Amazing there not one fake injury to Sid, might be saving that for a full video😂
Marchand being a pos even at the all star game is just as Marchand as even Marchand can be xb
Marchands a rat but it’s pretty clear he was doing it as a joke. None of the players take the all-star game seriously so I doubt any of them cared.
I didn't know soccer players was in nhl
I don't think Kovalev was faking an injury. He got stung and was a bit weak willed in the moment.

Marchand may not of slashed the goalie, but still why tf would you hit the goalie w your stick in the first place
Plus it's Marchand. Goalie's just giving him a taste of his own medicine. Nothing wrong with that.
