Walking Tour - Santo Stefano di Sessanio

A walk through the alleys of one of the most beautiful towns in Abruzzo.
The town, which now has 115 inhabitants, has been gradually emptying over the last 50 years.
However, in recent times a lot has been done to restore homes and to attract tourists and residents again. Unfortunately, the 2009 earthquake destroyed several buildings including the medieval Medici tower, the symbol of the town.

Hello Anthony Ny, the town's population is 115. Small villages like this lost about 90% of the population in the last decades. A lot has been done to attract tourists and residents in recent years. Unfortunately the earthquake of 2009 destroyed many bulidings including the medieval Medici tower which, as you can see, are still under repair.
