The "bulbs" are called Neon bulbs. You know them from the socket strip where there is this red/orange lamp in the switch. That's a Neon bulb. It is in this apparatus to arrest high voltage pulses to avoid sparks jumping. They start conducting around 90 volts and can have higher voltage, according to gas filling/pressure inside. Actually, go have a look at "Usagi Electric" 's latest video, it's specificly about these Neon bulbs :)
Thanks a lot! we still use a lot of those in our hospital. I'm looking forward to the next video. We have a big problem getting replacment batteries for the Philips stuff, don't know if you are having the shame problems?
Have you ever taken apart any HP bedside monitor modules or portable defibrillators from the late 80s to early 90s. Used them in icu they seem ED built like tanks. PB 7200 ventilators from same era similar feel, at least from the outside.
I have a problem with this device, the led turns on but it does not recognize any cable, do you know what it can be? :0 I need help at my job :( please

Neon bulbs are used to shunt defib spikes from the input. They’ve been used for decades.

Yeah, when I connect the module to the monitor a led turns on, but it does not recognize any cable :/ what could it be master king?
Check the port carefully on the cable and the MMS module. There's often 1 damaged pin at fault
