A couple of years ago I visited Vienna for NewYears Eve and they were playing the Fledermaus at the opera house, and it was broadcasted outside on a huge screen as well, where hundreds of people watched and listened in the cold night. It was an amazing experience.

It's hard to believe that when these beautiful pieces were written that they were actually "Dance Hall" music. Little did the Austrian population realize that they were hearing yet another genius whose music would go on to be some the greatest in the world. VIVA JOHANN! VIVA MOZART, BEETHOVEN, BRUCKNER, BACH, VERDI, ROSSINI, BELLINI, etc. Bravo to the Austrians, the Germans, the Italians, the French, the Norwegians, the Hungarian, the Swedes, the Czechs, the British, the Americans and the multitude of other nationalities whose composers have contributed to the wonderful Art we call Classical Music. Also a big THANK YOU to the multiple thousands of people through the years who devoted their lives to developing their skills to play and sing these wonderful works.
The people have forgotten the importance in sacrificing time to such great works, instead we live listening to others great works. We need to have faith in ourselves to succeed as great composers ourselves.
Beatiful music, a joy for our senses. Please consider that not all people may enjoy music like this and we need to give them due tolerance. Think that this music is over 100 years ago. Through more than 100 years we have not been able to create music more enjoyable than this. Does this tell you something?

I love listening to this music and letting a story form in my mind. I'm a cartoonist, so in my mind the story was a cartoon story, sort of early disney-esq for the first song. It was a cat in a nice house who got distracted by a loose feather and was chasing it around but couldn't catch it. Eventually it went out the window and down the street, through a park, landing on ship which brought the cat to Euorpe, through a parade, into a subway, into a factory, into a mansion during a 1700's style ballroom dance - the cat would come close to catching it sometimes but something always blew it away. I know this story has been told before but it's fun listening to this music and letting the story form in your imagnation...I love getting carried away with things like this :)

Plenty of old, quaint, coffee shops with killer Dobos(h) tortas etc. to nibble on with ur tea /coffee right where lots of great thinkers, composers, and authors put their talented best on paper too.
+Mike Chalmers Vienna is quite easy to get around in. The roughly circular Ringstrasse goes in a ring around the old city with amazing buildings, including the huge ornate opera house in view as you pass. Many Viennese speak English, and not a few with more knowledge and articulation than many in the U.S. It is reasonably affordable with great history. I would return there in preference to Berlin, Paris, or Barcelona - which of course are all must-visit cities. I just find it more manageable. Barcelona, partically Gaudi's buildings and parks, should be on everyone's list and of course Paris already is. Berlin is great and unique in many ways, and home to a thriving creative art scene - just for ease of living I preferred Vienna.

Not all composers of this time composing with computers. Thsi composer is the youngest at the history of music. At age 4 she was a professional composer and her own written compositions in her first sonbook are released at Hal Leonard. At age 5 she was a professional concert pianist, wrote also pieces for symphony and release her first album. At age 6 she won 3 Awards for composing, her music and her talentl. My husband played the persona muta in Die Fledermaus and every time I listen to the overture now it brings back amazing memories

It's hard to believe that when these beautiful pieces were written that they were actually "Dance Hall" music. Little did the Austrian population realize that they were hearing yet another genius whose music would go on to be some the greatest in the world. VIVA JOHANN! VIVA MOZART, BEETHOVEN, BRUCKNER, BACH, VERDI, ROSSINI, BELLINI, etc. Bravo to the Austrians, the Germans, the Italians, the French, the Norwegians, the Hungarian, the Swedes, the Czechs, the British, the Americans and the multitude of other nationalities whose composers have contributed to the wonderful Art we call Classical Music.
Also a big THANK YOU to the multiple thousands of people through the years who devoted their lives to developing their skills to play and sing these wonderful works.

came here to listen to grandads favourite artists. had a stroke today 28/12 at 91. he is my closest mate and last grandparent. for basically to have him half of my life is a blessing of 42y, he loved strauss, hope nothing happens overnight so stressed but thi sooths the pain
I love listening to this music and letting a story form in my mind. I'm a cartoonist, so in my mind the story was a cartoon story, sort of early disney-esq for the first song. It was a cat in a nice house who got distracted by a loose feather and was chasing it around but couldn't catch it. Eventually it went out the window and down the street, through a park, landing on ship which brought the cat to Euorpe, through a parade, into a subway, into a factory, into a mansion during a 1700's style ballroom dance - the cat would come close to catching it sometimes but something always blew it away. I know this story has been told before but it's fun listening to this music and letting the story form in your imagnation...I love getting carried away with things like this :)

+Mike Chalmers Then save ur pennies & go! They got Mozart stuff everywhere but they know that the Messrs Strauss were way cool too! Plenty of old, quaint, coffee shops with killer Dobos(h) tortas etc. to nibble on with ur tea /coffee right where lots of great thinkers, composers, and authors put their talented best on paper too.
+Mike Chalmers Vienna is quite easy to get around in. The roughly circular Ringstrasse goes in a ring around the old city with amazing buildings, including the huge ornate opera house in view as you pass. Many Viennese speak English, and not a few with more knowledge and articulation than many in the U.S. It is reasonably affordable with great history. I would return there in preference to Berlin, Paris, or Barcelona - which of course are all must-visit cities. I just find it more manageable. Barcelona, partically Gaudi's buildings and parks, should be on everyone's list and of course Paris already is. Berlin is great and unique in many ways, and home to a thriving creative art scene - just for ease of living I preferred Vienna.

Minha filhinha de quatro meses já ouve, aliás, ouve desde o ventre. Estudos apontam que crianças que crescem ouvindo músicas ricas em melodias tem melhor desenvolvimento cognitivo.

Thsi composer is the youngest at the history of music. At age 4 she was a professional composer and her own written compositions in her first sonbook are released at Hal Leonard. At age 5 she was a professional concert pianist, wrote also pieces for symphony and release her first album.
At age 6 she won 3 Awards for composing, her music and her talentl.
She works with real instruments.
