I find it interesting that actors like Johny Depp and Timothée Chalamet have a certain feminine quality or appearance that women find irresistible. This corresponds with men like me who find the character Chani attractive in her subdued warrior attire than when Zendaya is wearing an evening gown.
@@MFM230 Well it's simply more attracive when people are compfy in the archaic feminine and masculine aspects in life. You can say, it's a normal trauma response of attentive people, to the devastating results of a long systemic lean towards the rule of hurt (toxic) masculine principles in too many societies. It affects all people. Just watched Dune Part Two yesterday. I love the new take on Paul and Chani. There is a lot of angst and added tension to really make you buy into the story more than the book gives them. Chani being more of a fleshed out character helps because every loving moment between her and Paul is earnest and intense. Definitely more layers and I can't wait to see what happens between them next❤❤❤❤
I suspect that the "narrow way" involves sacrificing himself so that she can be the real leader to lead her people to paradise. I hope I am wrong and that they end up together again but the director is thoroughly going in a direction of destroying the Messiah myth.
@@TheMarshallEvans Doubt it. Dune co writer Jon Spaihts said Messiah will focus on palace intrigue just like the book and that it'll be about Chani and Irulan trying to stir the fate of House Atreides. Denis is a lifelong Dune fan. He may tweak characters but he's not going to alter it to a large degree.
There are many Paul + Chani videos on YT but this one is the best IMHO, superb choice in music to accompany their very touching love story. Well done! ;-)
I don’t think they have a good love story. Paul is out for himself. The movie makes him a lot more sympathetic than he is in the books. Also, what he did to Irulan was cruel. All the characters are flawed but the movie made Paul a lot more likable. Even in the first part of the dune books, he’s arrogant and acts like he knows everything. And chani forsakes EVERYTHING (her culture, her home) that she cared about to blindly follow Paul even after 61 billion people (i think it’s around that number, the number always stuck out to me when it was like billion) this wasn’t a love story it was teenage infatuation/obsession and unhealthy. Like yes, she definitely helped him and did a lot of important stuff for him but ultimately Paul was an awful character and the second she dies he abandoned his children, the thing she literally died to bring into this world. that’s not love. Paul started out as a “hero “and then honestly just became the worst and was only ever about Paul. and his son has to correct everything that Paul did because of Paul’s selfish actions. I feel like a lot of people mistake the authors message and I had to read a lot of the interviews the author gave to make sure that I wasn’t crazy because everyone saw Paul as this hero Until it’s like at the end the book one when you’re like oh shit, he’s not the hero. But the movie makes it a lot more romantic because in the books even her having/being determined to have the children, part of it was love, and then part of it felt like spite to Irulan/the imperium. Paul took Irulan as his wife. Not chani. He never made her his wife. She stayed his concubine, and although their children are legitimate and recognized his heirs, he didn’t keep any of his promises. And he didn’t even tell chani that she would die if she had the children like he didn’t give her the agency to choose. Jessica tells chani that “they call us concubines, but the histories will call us wives “ and that doesn’t happen. Paul could have made it happen. But he didn’t because it wouldn’t benefit him. I’m going to get crucified in the comments but I just don’t see this as love. The movie makes it look good but this isn’t a love story. It’s a horror story/sci fi. I love the chemistry that they have on screen, but I mean this is like romanticizing Ava Braun and Hitler imo. Except hitlers wife didn’t play such a huge part in the genocide. “All Carismatic leaders should come with a warning label” But yeah in the movie they look great. But this isn’t a love story or couple goals. And the fact that people see it as this beautiful love story honestly makes me question a lot of things, and I feel like Herbert would just be horrified in the same way that The writer of Lolita was completely horrified when people would dress up like Dolores and come trick-or-treating at his door.
That was truly beautiful. I know these fan-edits from, well, Basically any TV Show or movie set to music are super popular and everywhere but this one is the best I've ever seen. It's on a 'whole nutha level' 😁

Huh, I absolutely love Dune, but truthfully the writing of this pair is not the greatest, it's like a standard young adult fiction romance, which is... boring. Which is interesting, because Herbert's style of writing women is rather good, definitely better than some sci-fi authors. I always thought he could cut the number of scenes in books with Paul and Chani, and write more about Atreides family, their military, Corrino (especially Irulan!), Harkonnens, or even some more about Ixians, or Bene Tleilax... Oh, one can dream~

In their culture there isn't a such thing as mistress. A royal concubine is basically an official position. Even if it is a lower one. That's why the children they have are seen as legitimate instead of bastards.
