Hey Sharon, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the time and effort you’ve put into all of your videos - you’ve helped SO many countless people, including me! I’ve watched all of your videos, and somehow ended up with an offer for a DClinPsy place on my first go applying - your videos have been a crucial part of my journey. Like you I only had one interview and wasn’t expecting it!! On a separate note, I don’t know if you know how important and valuable it is to see Asian (and mixed heritage) representation in the field - it makes me feel like maybe I do belong here. THANK YOU!!
Hey love the video as always! Just wanted to say as a Trainee CAP we are all supervised by clinical psychologists (and have to be per the course guidelines etc), but yeah you do have to work in the role for a bit before starting the DClinPsy if that’s the route you want to take 😊
Brilliant and informative video as always Sharon, keep going you've got this!😄 Thank you for your authenticity as you vlog your journey to being a psychologist, very inspirational! Your journey gives me hope that one day I too will be a trainee clinical psychologist 😄 (Currently working as a mental health crisis response worker and doing my psychology MSc) x
@@SharonB yess! no problem, post as much as you can! Also dont take pressure! thankyou for replying to me. as a 14 year old who dreams to be a clinical psychlogist, you are an inspiration, and i am subscribed cause your videos are great and give a good insight on psychology. also i had 2 questions if you wouldnt mind, how long as in how many years does it take to become a clinical psychologists who can see patiants? than how long to become a child clinical psychologist? thnx! and is being good at maths important? cause im really ba at it i dropped math in highschool ( alot of freinds did ) so it wouldnt be a problem ryt? like i know there is statistics, but like i can calculate basic stuff and we have calculators as well right?? thankyou again! also i just have a suggestion, maybe you can try telling us how often you are gonna post, like once a month, once a week , once every two months like that, it would let us know when to wait for your video. Have a good day, looking forward to your reply!! :) ps: you have such positive vibrations!!
Thinking about it. I'm following the Channel to try to get as much intel as possible. 15 years ago I went back to University to study a PGCE to become a Primary School teacher. One year intensive, the structure of the curriculum sounds quite similar to the conversion course. Parts are done in an academic setting, and other times you are hands on. It's very intense, you literally have no life outside of the course.
Loved this Q&A, so informative. I am a couple months away from graduating from my MSc conversion course and have worked part time for over a year as a classroom teaching assistant with a couple weeks of volunteering work in mental health in between. Do you think this would be enough experience and education to apply for the DClinpsy this year?
Hey! I've watched ur previous videos and seen that u recommend becoming a healthcare assistant to gain clinical experience. Question is do you need any experience to become a HCA? What experience did u have when u first got the job? Also, thank u so much for all ur videos. You've helped me so much and I don't think u genuinely know how grateful I am! :)
Hey! Thanks for watching! I had some volunteer experience working as a befriender for people with dementia as well as personal experiences of looking after family members with dementia

Thanks for subscribing! One of the biggest challenges of the DClinPsy is managing all the varied demands so it sounds like you’d make it through!
Hello Sharon! Watching you from Philippines!

Thanks for watching!! Education wise I think you’re all good but I would build on your mental health work experience and try to get a paid role!
