@@mahendramagar850 I am glad you liked it, I don't have any quails these are all Wild Quails which all around in California Forests, and mountains. We are in Spring Valley and they scattered around the Sweetwater Lake
We live in a Wildlife Refuge territory, so hunting is prohibited and I have no idea what the taste is like. However the hawks around here know very well, LOL. I have seen them in the frozen section of the grocery food supermarkets, but I have never tried them.
I am glad you enjoyed watching them, you are correct watching wild birds and animals in their natural habitat is much more joyful than watching them in captivity.
They are only in inland suburban areas, typically in places with thick bushes so they can safely nest and lay eggs. I lived for 20 years in Clairmont and I never saw them there, as soon as I moved to Spring Valley I see them all the time.
Good idea but we are in a community under strict rules and we are not allowed to have any farm animals, otherwise I would have also kept a few chickens.
@@knowledgesource101 quail are much less noisier and take less space. I know people keep them in their appartments without the neighbours finding out. Only males crow, and their call isn't even that bad, but you dont need males for eggs.
Thanks, I didn't even know they were edible, besides these quails are in protected sanctuary so they can't be hunted. Our house is inside the California Wildlife Preserve so all animals including coyotes and rabbits are protected.
They actually feed off the normal Wild Bird Seeds which contains a variety of different high nutrient seeds. The Purina that you are talking about is for farm raised Quails not wild Quails.
This is wonderful and amazing. I learned some things and I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Me and my boyfriend wanted to watch a documentary about quail and you delivered thank you for your dedication ❤️🙏
I am honored, Thank You!!
@@knowledgesource101 as you should 👏
Thank You!!
You are better than National Geographic at this point. I did not know how smart the quail are. Good information. I like your video. very informative.
Wow, thanks!
What the Quails going on round here!!
Yep, and that is why it is California's State Bird.
I am watching your video as a wild quail family is walking by my patio eating seeds. I have learned a lot from your video.
That is awesome!
The same here in Crescent City CA . 5/5//24
Amazing footage, Great Job!
Thanks a lot!
Thank you so much 💖
Thank you so much 💖
You are privileged. I love these little ones. Tnx for caring. I’m learning about them from your videos.
I am glad you enjoyed watching them, and indeed we are so lucky to have so many varieties of wildlife around us.
Outstanding work my friend i will follow and thumbs up. Your dialogue was very captivating!

20:33 actually that one looks more like it's panting. My quails also do that quite often when it getts hot (I live in the south of Spain :D )
Thanks
They taste really good

Thank you, i’m glad you enjoyed watching them
I loved it, thank you!!!
My pleasure. Thanks for your feedback.
You have done well with observing and learning. Do you know anyone who has had wild quail breed with their free ranging domestic quail?
Thank you, I don't know of anyone, and I was told they are protected and no one can keep them in captivity, but I have not verified this info.
In Korea, chicks were born by natural incubation of quail in an artificial cage. It's even more wonderful to see quails in nature.
I am glad you enjoyed watching them, you are correct watching wild birds and animals in their natural habitat is much more joyful than watching them in captivity.
You know a lot about quail! I'm inspired to find birds in my area too now :D
Thank you, and good luck spotting some in your area.
Just a suggestion, when placing water out for the Quail place the water on a plate... and they'll drink it. They won't drink the water from a bowl
Great idea, thanks
I love quails and this video is amazing good job 👍🏽
Thank You! I love them too they are so magnificent
Been a California resident for 36 years and never seen one of these quails before
They are only in inland suburban areas, typically in places with thick bushes so they can safely nest and lay eggs. I lived for 20 years in Clairmont and I never saw them there, as soon as I moved to Spring Valley I see them all the time.
Interesting 😊
Indeed they are!
They also live about 2 years in captivity. Like most birds, they have a high metabolic rate + shorter lifespan. Like me xD
No my friend I Hope you live very long, healthy and happy.
What part of Southern california are you in ?
We live right next to the Sweetwater Reservoir in Spring Valley California
If i were you i would buy a small hutch/coop and keep a few quail. You could enjoy their eggs as well as simply watch them whenever you want.

Bird seed? My quail prefer Mexican food.
Good choice! I love Mexican food. I could use a taco right now ;-)

This is in the High Desert in Southern California in Spring Valley Lake!😊
What no Purina game bird chow, that's what they're supposed to be fed! Not bird seed!😠
