I knew seong mo was a murder from the start when An’s father asked seong mo to save his son. I dunno...I just found something really strange about him. I’m pretty sure most people did. It was just the vibe and his eyes... the person that acted seong mo in that scene is like...one of the best actors I have watched in my whole life

Seongmo grew up running away and learnt to not trust anyone for help. He was also still lacking emotions, sympathy and empathy. So he wasnt a monster, just a boy with no social skills and lacked emotions. He redeemed himself in my eyes throughout the show and I guess I really didnt want to believe he killed those women. He wasnt a hard person to love even after I learnt what he did. He killed not because he enjoyed it but to keep his mother and self safe.
let's talk about how out of this whole series the biggest punishment he got was the love of his life dying in his arms because of him. i'm so sad rn I can't even.
Sometimes I wondered: would the ending have changed if the hands that did the deed was the father instead? But you see, fate is such a funny thing. If Seung Mo wasn't the one, Lee An could have died in that corridor. Because there was no Seung Mo with his new found feelings to hold him and jump off the building. There are so many what ifs, but in the end, I still thought that this version was the best. Because they both managed to make their most beautiful memories with one another, although the price of that was their twisted fates. P.S I really love the way Seung Mo says "An". It's sooooo full of love, doting, guilt, and all kinds of other jumbled emotions. It tugs at my heartstrings. >
I am sad only because even though Seung mo😭 couldn't feel any pain and emotions he still treated Ahn like his own brother. Even if he wasn't very open about his affection Ahn knew that his hyung loved him. It's so sad because they both only had each other to rely on and now their relationship is broken😭 and so is my heart💔💔
Seung Mo started to feel pain and emotion through the years. Why do you think he became a prosecutor, took cases related to what he and his mother went through? It maybe by selfish reasons, but he still did everything to help someone, his mom and then later on Lee An and then Jae In. Cause he really thought that his biological father would have been blame for the fire and murders but it went sideways since the construction company wanted to cover up quickly that they did sloopy work in constructing that building when they had safety problems. At the end Seung Mo really felt pain and emotions, he felt everything. I still think that he had Alexithymia and wasn't a psycopath. If you look up information of this dimensional personality trait, Alexithymia, then you will understand Seung Mo better. Also, a person can have Alexithymia for many reason, so in this case I think Seung Mo had it cause he was born and raised in a basement for the first nine years of his life and the only people that he had were his mom, who practically hide her emotions to survive, and his biological father who was someone that probably had the same condition as him, but still didn't had or portrayed any kind of positive or negative emotions.
Seung mo started feeling when he saved Ahn. That's the whole tragedy of it, he gained the ability to feel at the worst moment possible, right after he had done something truly horrible he wouldn't ever be able to take back; and the consequences of that act shook him to the core.
I feel what Ahn is trying to say here is he wishes someone would tell him they’ve grieved and resented and guilted enough for things to be okay for them. Because now this is how their lives are. This is the new normal. And they are waiting for things to go back to the way they used to be no matter how deluded that may sound.
I wish writers could've shown 13 years leap when he's freed and they all get back together step by step. I'd like to imagine this ending as heartbreaking and yet an open ending like when he gets out.
Just completed it... And the only part where my heart ached is seeing song mo bheind the bars... i really want a happy ending... Till end i really wished song mo wasn't the one... It had to be a lie... But i guess I'm just a happy ending person... Although I Know it's just a drama... but still it make me sad...😞

This series ending was an absolute shock for me. Also for many incidents happened in it like Jisoo, Seong Mo, his mother's suffering etc. My heart felt heavy and this series haunted me for days.
True, he started his life roughly, even he did something really bad, but he did it because he thought it was the only way for him and his mom to be free. He tried to pay his sins with become a good brother for Ahn. But still, it will be hard for Ahn to just forgive his brother when he found out the truth 😥😥😥
I came to search for this ending as I couldn't hold back my curiosity since I felt sth strange about Seong Mo and suspected him as the culprit. I was only in the half way of watching Episode (3). LOL...I guess...watching a lot of Kdrama helped me catch the hints here. Anyway, I like him though.
I really hate how this ended. But I also hate that how all of these things make sense now. The amount of times I got goosebumps and crying while watching, this drama is very impressive, I must said.

Wish the writers could have thrown in one more twist that Seong Mo only thought he killed those 3 women. Somehow he wakes up in their room, with the knife, the microwave about to go off because his father found him and dragged him in there and set everything up to look like his son did it. Then maybe him thinking he did kill the 3 could result in his emotions being born and he's terrified thinking he did it. He notices the microwave and escapes. Just something. And then in the last episode he finds out his dad was the culprit all along.

seong mo didn’t SA or kidnapped anyone, he killed people just to save his mom, and he had a lot of regret and remorse. not saying what he did was right or excusable but it’s not comparable to his father.

I just can’t- i’ve crying the whole day and I didn’t expect seongmo is the murderer, i thought after they catch guen taek they will become happy,, but i was wrong bye..
I liked people's comments and felt sorry for seong mo, he was provoked by circumstances the cases were covered up and his mother threatened, the only option he felt was protecting her even if it meant destroying all around himself and her to do it. Which is sad really the cover up's went right up high and being isolated for 9 years and emotionally detached I dont think he felt he had any other option. The only part he regretted was that he hurt those others in the fire, but he wouldnt of regretted that if he didnt have Lee An beside him to teach him regret. I feel sorry for Lee An but I think towards there end in this part, he knew what was going on, he knew his brother had set everything up to reveal it all but also wanted to end it all, he wanted to prevent being a monster like his father was, so he needed An to stop him, thats why he kept touching everything leaving clues to what was going on.

Kate Estallo it’s one of a kind in MANY ways but making it a sad ending does not mean it’s one of a kind... there’s plenty of dramas with sad endings too... innocent characters like run ji-soo did not have to die. the writers basically just threw the character away when it was not necessary and did not rlly add much to the actual plot. i was loving this drama until she died, and then kang sung-mo was the real culprit. it was too much heartbreak and sadness to handle. sorry for my rant

Honestly, I hate to say this but i think it was the right decision to let her die because she would be probably the most affected by this and we would be really sad for her, her life would be ruined. And if the writers didn't make Seongmo a culprit, it wouldve been like so many other kdramas. Honestly the plot twist makes the kdrama more memorable and realistic.
He never accused jaein's dad though. After the incident he told police about his father stalking them and also that It’s not jaein's dad who started the fire. He wanted them to investigate properly. It was jisoo's dad who put Jaein's dad behind bar despite knowing he's not the real culprit.
I think he indirectly framed Jaein's dad. He did use his uniform to wipe or placed blood in it, then left it in the hallway.It was then later used as the evidence.

I liked people's comments and felt sorry for seong mo, he was provoked by circumstances the cases were covered up and his mother threatened, the only option he felt was protecting her even if it meant destroying all around himself and her to do it. Which is sad really the cover up's went right up high and being isolated for 9 years and emotionally detached I dont think he felt he had any other option. The only part he regretted was that he hurt those others in the fire, but he wouldnt of regretted that if he didnt have Lee An beside him to teach him regret. I feel sorry for Lee An but I think towards there end in this part, he knew what was going on, he knew his brother had set everything up to reveal it all but also wanted to end it all, he wanted to prevent being a monster like his father was, so he needed An to stop him, thats why he kept touching everything leaving clues to what was going on.

@@charlienoona3151 Agreed it was extreme, then again I think back on it, you escape after 9 nine years and have to constantly move around, no friends no family, no school for too long, changing names constantly, always scared there would be a time you would get fed up with it. Even witness protection is alot safer than what they went throught. It was extreme but I am not sure what other choice he could of made either...

He did that to protect his mother n himself. If he didn't, thn his dad would've done it either way and killed him n his mother. It was his dad's plan but he executed it. Even if intention was good, it cost lot of lives.

Kate Estallo it’s one of a kind in MANY ways but making it a sad ending does not mean it’s one of a kind... there’s plenty of dramas with sad endings too... innocent characters like run ji-soo did not have to die. the writers basically just threw the character away when it was not necessary and did not rlly add much to the actual plot. i was loving this drama until she died, and then kang sung-mo was the real culprit. it was too much heartbreak and sadness to handle. sorry for my rant

@@cynthia612 Do you think Jisoo would be happy with her father and Seongmo in prison ? She wouldve been over 40 y/o when Seongmo comes out of prison, is she gonna wait for him ? Honestly, I hate to say this but i think it was the right decision to let her die because she would be probably the most affected by this and we would be really sad for her, her life would be ruined. And if the writers didn't make Seongmo a culprit, it wouldve been like so many other kdramas. Honestly the plot twist makes the kdrama more memorable and realistic.

So, Seung Mo killed An's father and accused Jaein's father to save face?!
He never accused jaein's dad though. After the incident he told police about his father stalking them and also that It’s not jaein's dad who started the fire. He wanted them to investigate properly. It was jisoo's dad who put Jaein's dad behind bar despite knowing he's not the real culprit.
I think he indirectly framed Jaein's dad. He did use his uniform to wipe or placed blood in it, then left it in the hallway.It was then later used as the evidence.

Seung Mo's dad was the one who took the jacket. It was probably with all the other stuff he planned to use. But Seung Mo came across the luggage bag and thus did the deed instead.
