The chilean military was trained by the prusians in the late 1800's. Today is the only country in the planet to keep the prusian style uniforms and military traditions alive.

It can't be performed properly if you can't goose step. Maybe one day our world will not be a bunch of snowflakes. Hopefully one day, you guys can host a full Prussian tradition again. I am happy for Chile to have and keep it's traditions, but most Germans don't want any association with its militaristic past and are grateful for living in different times, where our army does not do public parades. To those who don't know Chile was a rising power back in the 1890s I think and when Otto von Bismarck united Germany they wanted to align themselves with Germany and Germany sent military advisors to Chile to update their old french tactics and not only that, they also changed their uniforms to the ones used by Germany hence why Chile has a Prussian tradition.

0:40 this makes me feel nostalgic. Cause I had a Chilean commander at my local Canadian army cadet regiment and we did practiced some forms of the German/Prussian goose step. Our commander even played "Prussia's Glory" at some of our military parades.. Man I was just amazed by marching proudly as one of the boys with Prussian military descent and I will teach the Prussian goose step to my children so that the tradition is never lost!
Maurice Samuel authored You Gentiles (1924), In this book he expressed his tribes dislike of the goose step. Their dislike of certain military traditions and practices existed before a certain political party came too power in Germany.

Not just Chile but many South American countries adopted Prussian and German military traditions and style. Paraguay and Bolivia come to mind.

0:40 this makes me feel nostalgic. Cause I had a Chilean commander at my local Canadian army cadet regiment and we did practiced some forms of the German/Prussian goose step. Our commander even played "Prussia's Glory" at some of our military parades.. Man I was just amazed by marching proudly as one of the boys with Prussian military descent and I will teach the Prussian goose step to my children so that the tradition is never lost!
Maurice Samuel authored You Gentiles (1924), In this book he expressed his tribes dislike of the goose step. Their dislike of certain military traditions and practices existed before a certain political party came too power in Germany.

Chilean guy here, we love the parade, every September 19, is the national day for for The Army, so we have this parade, they show it in TV, and it´s a family tradition to watch since is part our National Day (September 18).

Let a Chilean go and revive Prussian traditions in Germany. Emilio Körner brought these traditions to Chile in 1800. Germany deserves to have its traditions back.
Als ex FWDL kann ich dir nur sagen das das ne common misconception ist, so gut wie alles an unserer Truppe ist per se Deutsch nur mehr an echten Deutschen Traditionen ausgerichtet was man zbsp. an unserer Heraldik und Farben erkennt die aus unserer Mittelalterlichen Geschichte stammen. Deshalb ist dieser "Postkrähen" Kommentar den man manchmal liest ignorant und respektlos, der color code ist älter und deutscher als das Kaiserreich.
Preußen is durch und das ist auch gut so wir sind hier nicht in der NVA, unsere Truppe war noch nie so authentisch Deutsch wie jetzt.
Preußen/Kaiserreich ≠ Deutschland 🇩🇪
Btw Stechschritt gibt's bei uns nicht da wir keine Linieninfanterie mehr haben von daher gilt der Preußische Gleichschritt für alle Truppengattungen.
