- You're in French Indochina from 1945 - 1954, this is what the music you and your buddies would be listening to while fighting communist insurgents
People say the Vietnam War (Second Indochina War) has a soundtrack, but the French Indochina War doesn't. I beg to differ.
Guerre d'Indochine
Chiến tranh Đông Dương
La Sale Guerre - "The Dirty War" the First Indochina War described by French Leftists
The government of France forbade the use of metropolitan recruits, fearing that that would make the war more unpopular than it already was. Instead, French professional soldiers and units of the French Foreign Legion were augmented with colonial troops, including Moroccan, Algerian, Tunisian, Laotian, Cambodian, and Vietnamese ethnic minorities.
Kinda reminds of what's going on in Russia...
Vietnamese music is probably just Bolero or something
Apologies for the use of cover singing if you wanted the real deal, but it's the only way to convey this concept in my mind visually without copyright strike hell, I just wanted to get this out of my head.
Basically fighting a war to Fallout 3 radio music

POV: Your a French officer while battling in Dien Bien Phu and but still turn on the radio
This is great!....You may not get a lot of responses but us amateur historians really like this....Hope you do more....
I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Thanks for making it.
You’re welcome, I make most of my videos based off of things that don’t exist that should be made but no one had the patience to do them lol
@@Kabutoes Well Im glad there is at least one person making these videos.
Incredible work as usual.
As Viet Minh reenactor who just started building a late war kit, will you upload one for the Viet Minh side? It'll be great for inspiration
Some of the songs are catchy, I appreciate the acapella from the first song
i kind of made this with the intention to parallel how youtubers make "Vietnam war music" compilations with just American 1960s-1970s music rather than North Vietnamese, so like just through the perspective of the French. I never thought of the Viet Minh side, I think they would just have propaganda music rather than music made from individual expression. I had to pick some user generated music because the originals would copyright strike this down to oblivion.
@@Kabutoes makes sense, that sucks man. thanks
@@Kabutoesmusic are mostly propaganda
I think the more individual stuff are post-war poems

No
Where VN?
depuis 1918 la France n'a plus gagné une bataille, Dien bien Phu fut une boucherie pour les armées Françaises et le clou de cette bataille perdue fut le camp 113 dirigé par un Français communiste que tous doivent connaitre ici
