I’ve practiced with the twin needles and did pretty decent. I was sewing quite a bit but things happen in life to throw you for a loop. I’ve just been diagnosed with cancer. Emotionally I just haven’t been into really anything. I was going to work on some pants today but had other things happening. I really appreciate your tutorials.

Oh Victoria! I am so sorry to hear about this diagnosis. Be easy with yourself, but keep up the fight. I am happy you find some joy in my videos. Sending you a huge hug and tons of healing vibes. 🤗🙏💚

@ Thank you so much. Once I conquer this we will be visiting our grandchildren in North Carolina.

Thanks, one of my used machines came with a (very rusty) double needle so I know it can do it, but not knowing how, I used the zigzag for the swimsuits I made this summer. Now I'm more confident to give it a try next time I need to work on a knit, presuming I can get any of my zigzag capable machines to behave (everyone except the antique hand crank machine has decided to have inconsistent tension issues and maybe timing issues, I need to do some tinkering with hte herd after Xmas when I've got time).

Very timely as I am just trying my first t-shirt like pattern right now. And cool to see you using the same machine that I use!

Yay! You will love this method! I love this model of Bernina. It is THE BEST and only domestic machine I use! 💚

I have tried this on a few shirts. The first couple turned out fairly well except there was a ridge between the two thread lines. I tried playing with tension but it didn't change anything. But then I had the stitches pop in the hem on one shirt. I thought maybe the regular thread just didn't stretch enough so I tried a stretch thread. It worked okay fot most of the shirt then six inches from finishing, it decided to birds nest on the underside and nothing I have tried (new bobbin, tension, rethreading) had worked to keep that from happening over and over. I gave up and hand stitched the rest to sorta look like twin needle on the top till I can figure out how to fix the issue or borrow my friend's coverstitch machine. Any ideas on how to remedy this? Should I just stick to regular thread and not use the stretchy thread? Thanks!

Wow! Don't you just hate when the machine won't do what you want it to do?? I have had the problems with the tension and found by loosening the bobbin tension, that helped a lot. I have had problems with them skipping from time to time and wearing out faster than I would like. Sometime I try sewing from the other direction and that will work better. Sorry you had such trouble with your double needles. I hope it goes better next time. Sometimes it's just not a good day for sewing! 💚

I have some twin needles at work and wondered what they were for/ how to use them. Thanks!
