    Amino acid (supplement to build serotonine like “SeroPlus” from “Pure Encapsulations” or other brand), vitamins, minerals, gastro intestinal support (probiotics), essential fatty acid, antioxidants (essential oils or smoothies), anti-inflammatories, detoxification (not at the begining, but later in the treatment).

    I took duloxetine for 2 years after diagnosis of fybromialgia and depression (every other desease has been cut off after many examinations). I was supposed to have this therapy for 6 months, as my original GP said. I am living abroad, and here only psychiatrists can prescribe such meds. Covid came and doctor suggested to keep duloxetine for more. Then, when I asked for suggestion regarding starting to decrease the dose, he made me go off 30 mg cold Turkey on December. I started to feel in a nightmare again with all the possible withdrawals, mentally and physically. Now I am starting a natural/homeopathic therapy prescribed by a valuable doctor in my city, who said that antidepressants and their being cut in a sudden put my body in a high acidosis, so I need to alcalinise it. I hope I will solve all of this.

    Hi there, i've been on lexapro for years and have weaned down to 5 mg from the maximum dose of 20. Getting off of the last 5 mg feels terrible as i've been off of it for about 5 days. I took my first dose of seroplus (1 capsule) today and the relief washed over me like a warm blanket. It's great so far. I fully understand everyone is different, but is there a ballpark range of time you'd recommend staying on the seroplus? I'm an active person, eat as clean as i can, sleep is terrible, but i am taking vitamins (a little info about my routine).

      To anyone who's curious, i took it for about a month then noticed the symptoms were manageable without it. However, i was also taking:
      B comlex (pure)
      1000 mg of methylfolate (thorne)
      Zinc (pure)
      Vitamin D (pure)
      Vitamin C (ester c)
      Epa/dha oil (pure)
      Magnesium glycinate but going to start taurate instead (nootropics depot)
      Bacopa monnieri for serotonin upregulation (nootropics depot)
      Cordyceps for dopamine upregulation (nootropics depot)
      I also take 200 mg of lamictal for bipolar2, 25 mg of metoprolol for SVT and .25-.5 mg xanax as needed.
      I highly recommend the stack i provided (minus the scrips of course).
      If you respond well to the bacopa and cordyceps it's a very good combo for the SSRI problem. The seroplus is good too, i take it sometimes

It did helped me in reducing the physical symptom of my anxiety, but somehow it didn’t helped with my emotion and overthinking. So, I bought a probiotic (my family forced me to take supplement and the pharmacist convinced me that probiotic helps with anxiety). But, I’m not planning to stop my Valdoxan at all. Can I take both of them? Antidepressant+Probiotic? And how about Multivitamin? I want to cry cause I can’t wait until next appointment in 2 months and ask my doctor.. 😭😭😭

    • @alicewleemd

      It depends on the quality of the probiotics and multivitamins. A good probiotic is quite safe in general. Perque Digesta Guard Forte 10 should be fine. Another helpful product I have used with good benefits for many patients is a liquid supplement called Ion Gut Health by Ionbiome.com. If you have problems with your GI system, a liquid supplement may be more easily absorbed: Brainchild Spectrum Support Minerals and Brainchild Spectrum Support II Vitamins Lemon Lime flavored. if you don't eat vegetables, then it may be helpful to have some smoothies that allow you to absorb nutrients more easily. Good luck.

      @@allisonchainz82 hi Allison
      Thank you a lot for reply.❤️❤️
      I am also on 15 mg!
      My story goes like this:
      I was on on mirtazapine for about 3 years I was first on 45 than gradually I went to 30, than to 15. I was on 15 for about nine months. I had no issues coming down from 45 to 15 none whatsoever. I was in 15 for about 9 months and back in August of 2021 I started tapering using water. I went from 15 to 0 in four months. Again, with no issues in those 4 months. I was fine for another 3 months after taper. Than in March I plummeted over night in extreme anxiety depression and insomnia. I went back to 15 mg of Mirtazapine thinking I went too fast.
      What are your main symptoms coming off this drug?
      How long it took you to come down to 1 mg?
      Thank you

  • @WickedHowl
    @WickedHowl 4 года назад +9

    First, thank you for this video! I especially found it helpful when you described the hyper sensitivity effect. You also mentioned that you can get very sick in about 3 month's time after lowering the dose (too fast); this has happened to me, and then it happened again at 6 months. Do you know why this happens, why are the symptoms so delayed? And how can I predict if these difficult symptoms are coming in 3-6 months, if at the beginning of the tapering I actually might feel a bit better?

    • @alicewleemd
      @alicewleemd  4 года назад +5

      These are good questions. The short answer to your question is that many things are happening beneath your ability to notice at the symptom level. You might notice when you crash metabolically, but long before that (over three months?) the body has been frantically trying to support you.

    • @DrAnnBlakeTracy
      @DrAnnBlakeTracy Год назад

      The delay in the worst of the withdrawal is because these drugs accumulate at amazing amounts within the brain & are 98% protein binding. So they are being held in the system by complex proteins. Therefore the best diet during or after the use of antidepressants is a Vegan diet heavy in fresh fruit & veggies which have very simple proteins because you do not want those protein clumps (Lewy Bodies) to build up in the brain ending in the REM Sleep Disorder as it did for Robin Williams & ending in his death as he acted out his worst nightmare in a sleep state. You should also avoid anything that will increase serotonin, like 5HTP or St. John's Wort, because the drugs have inhibited your ability to metabolize serotonin. You have to work on rebuilding your ability to metabolize serotonin. I have been assisting those withdrawing from these drugs for 30+ years.

    Hi. I’ve been on Zoloft for about 7-8 years for anxiety. It’s been at 50 mgs for most of the time (25 for a few years). Lately I’ve been wanting to get off of it but I’m really really scared. I’m doing good at handling my anxiety now, but I’m scared it’s going to come back. I’m also scared about the withdrawal symptoms. What if I can’t handle it, and what if the symptoms cause my anxiety to flare up badly again and get really bad panic attacks? I want to be able to live my life without the meds, but the process to getting there is terrifying me. Even if I forget to take my pill for one day I find myself feeling super dizzy the whole day until I get my next dose. That leads me to believe that the whole process will be super rough. Also, will my personality change and will I act differently once I get off it?

    I took prozac 10mg for 3 days. First day I was okay but couldn't really sleep. Day 2 and 3 got really really bad with my anxiety. I haven't slept good and woke up in a panic last night. I feel so much worst than before meds. I have klonopin 0.25mg to help with panic attacks but I feel like im losing my mind now. Is it okay to stop cold turkey after 3 days? Is it possible to still deal with withdrawal symptoms? What should I do to ease things. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Im really drowning with worry and have no support.

      You have to find out whats the reason behind your depression or anxiety. It always stems from an underlying condition like; Low Iron, Low Vitamin D, low B12, Not enough healthy gut bacteria etc. As time passes and it gets worse your body may become deficient in whatever the problem maybe. Because Vitamin D and Iron play a huge role in the functioning of neurotransmitters like Serotonin, and Dopamine.

Develop your mental muscles by reprogramming the mind [brain] and boosting the level of serrotonin and dopamine. . Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing anxiety-stress. For a relaxed life without anxiety-stress sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe your natural incoming--outgoing breath and body sensations for around 10-15 minutes. Be as still as possible. Many thoughts will come which is ok--slowly negative thoughts will reduce and your mind will relax with no desire for pills. Mind[brain] are reprogrammed. After 1 days of the above meditation daily start reducing dosage, take very alternate day and taper out after 20-25 days. Take only when needed. Best part is mood swings also reduce after daily meditation. . Avoid watching negative tv and mobile shows.. Do the above meditation daily twice without any doubts and enjoy life without medication. • @alicewleemd
      @alicewleemd  4 года назад +1

      It's not a good idea of wean off Cymbalta when it "stops working" because that just means that neurotransmitter levels are so low that the same medication has little effect on the system. You'll need to gradually go back up on your last antidepressant, even if it "didn't work" and start by building both serotonin (SeroPlus) and some helpful catecholamines (use D-phenylalanine 500 mg caps) before you try to lower very slowly. Otherwise, you can cause permanent damage to parts of your body that depend on your serotonin and catecholamine systems. I believe the whole process requires someone with integrative psychiatry expertise to help you through the process.

      The withdrawal symptoms would be the underlying causes plus the neurotransmitter levels associated with Wellbutrin. With Wellbutrin, I often use D-phenylalanine 500 mg by Montiff or Dr.'s Best and SeroPlus by Pure Encapsulations to support its mix of receptors and neurotransmitters. However, it's tricky, so you should have a doctor follow you closely.

Was on it for 15 years. Started at 75 mg, 10% drop every 6 weeks. Once I got to 45 mg, I started to get depressed. I can sleep up to 15 hours a day and have no motivation. I’m 75 years of age. I have started taking Hi-potency B vitamins and Omega 3. I will also add a mineral supplement to this. This has to be the worst antidepressant to get off. It’s been tough as I live alone. Hi are you suggesting it’s ok to take 5-htp while tapering ssri medication? I’m currently down to 5mg lexapro I tapered from 10 mg every other day to 5mg every day and finding it hard . To me it makes sense to supplement with 5-htp but have been warned about mixing the two because of serotonin syndrome which can be dangerous apparently?!

    I have quit taking 100 mg Zoloft 19 days ago. I feel the “brain zaps” and almost constant dizziness. I’m scared to go back on the meds to taper down because I’m afraid of going through the beginning of the withdrawal process again. Can I just start taking the seroplus to help with the withdrawal without starting the Zoloft again?

    • @alicewleemd
      @alicewleemd  4 года назад +3

      I've tried to do it that way, but it doesn't work very well. Perhaps it's because it takes time to build serotonin, and Zoloft withdrawal can seriously undermine your GI system, which will have ramifications for the rest of your physical health. If you stopped cold turkey, then the GI system loses function suddenly. I'd advise you to go back on the Zoloft, take time to stabilize and build serotonin, and then lower it properly. Otherwise, you could damage your body with the amount of oxidative stress and inflammation that are triggered by the withdrawal process.

    • @brinaynichole2593
      @brinaynichole2593 4 года назад +1

      I haven’t had an GI issues at all, just dizziness, brain zaps, irritability, and insomnia really. But I’m sleeping better recently. The dizziness is almost constant though. I don’t think I can convince myself to go back on to taper, I was so scared of serotonin syndrome while I was sick. My dr had told me to stop taking it. She didn’t even mention tapering. I didn’t even know that was a thing 😞

    • @alicewleemd
      @alicewleemd  4 года назад +1

      It may be helpful to use a liquid form of Fluoxetine and gradually come down that way, making sure that you are building sufficient serotonin through supplements about two weeks in advance of the gradual withdrawal. Everyone is different, so I can't be more specific than that.

    • @cradlecap123
      @cradlecap123 4 года назад +1

      Sean, get the liquid form prozep. I'm using this. If there is a pharmacist in the practice get hold of them, they may have more knowledge. It's easier to do small redictions with a syringe. I wish I had known about this in 2007 did own clunky taper and went mad. Not knowing it was withdrawal symptoms. As I went back on them I felt better after a while thinking I needed them long term and the withdrawal was my OCD coming back bad. It wasn't. Prozac will change your brain. Slow taper. CEPUK is a good general site. Inner compass initiative. At moment I reduce 0.1ml a week or 2 weeks etc... Put your foot down for this liquid, they may say just cut down one pill, day off, 1 pill, day etc... this is dangerous in my opinion. Unfortunately Dr don't know about exit strategies and the NICE guildelines (I think they're being changed) are too quick etc..

    • @cradlecap123
      @cradlecap123 4 года назад +1

      @@seanneedham1019 Hi Sean, tnx for message. Good news with liquid. Is it prozep? 20mg is equal to 5ml. 1mg per month = 0.25ml on an oral syringe. Or did you mean 1ml per month? On a pill 20mg dosage a 10% reduction is 18mg.
      So the liquid equivalent is 0.5ml off 5ml = 4.5ml in the syringe.
      Reducing is so difficult as any feelings as you drop a dose makes u think it's the 'tapering' when it migth just be a bad day with circumstances. I think when you get lower the reduction might need to be smaller as my case. 0.1ml per 2 weeks (roughly). There's also the idea of 10% off the previous dose - ie. 10% 18mg is 1.8mg. Therefore 1.8mg off 18mg equals 16.2mg - However this could send you mad. But I think 10mg and below make the reductions smaller. But it depends on how u feel. Everyone's different. There seems to be some people who metabolise the drug differently therefore there taper is a breeze. I think it also depends on what u r doing. If u r busy and doing something u enjoy with good friends then the focus on yourself if different.
