Lovely. Summer thunderstorm on the horizon - those lend drama. And welcome relief - I fondly remember the 100+ heat and sudden downpours with streets flowing 3" deep curb to curb and lightning blasts in the desert, San Manuel High School 1956-1959.
What if a day later he say "Ha! Gotya, I shot this on the mini".

No that is some quality imaging from a large sensor. Maybe with a Mavic you might get close.

Gearbox... I just moved here at age 66 now. Yeah, I try to forget I live here everyday. I'm helping my family, but OMG this is tough. I liked this video for sure, and I've driven through (emphasis on through) Arizona many times. But the heat can be absolutely brutal. Yesterday (July 30th) was my best day here - thunderstorms, pouring rain, and finally cooler air. I only wrote this to you, because I'd love it if you game me more reasons to be here.

After watching this I’m just amazed that simple drones like the mini 2 or 3 are able to achieve pretty similar footage! I don’t know if I would notice any huge changes between these
The big reason to pay more is to get low-light footage but we're at a point now where it isn't worth having a HUGE Inspire 2 and all the hassle for 90% the same thing. I do really like having the lens options to zoom in though
@@QuickAssTutorials only video recording in low light sucks, its amazing that you can do perfectly similar hyper-lapses with a mini compared to an inspire. ofc some differences but the difference in price ....
I’d say the mini 3 is like having a flying iPhone, the footage in this video is mind blowing, it’s like a flying cinema rig

Really enjoy your work and have learned a lot. On the topic of the Smart Controller for the Mini 2: Comments are generally a year old and the DJI site now says that controller is not in production. Should I wait, or shop for a refurbished Smart Controller as an upgrade?

Amazing! So gripping. Newbie question, how do you create the amazing nighttime hyperlapse at 1:59. Is it best for a unexperienced guy like me to use built in hyperlast mode on my mavic iar 2 or should I just shoot the scene and then speed it up in post?!
Also, do one use ND filters at night to get those long headlights (like laserbeams) at night or what does that effect?
You have to shoot long exposures near sunset, 1/2 second long. Save them in RAW format, and save the original RAW photos from the hyperlapse, it’s an option in the software.
Then edit the photos in adobe lightroom to recover all the details.
NO ND filters for nighttime, no ISO

I have a DJI Matrice 300 RTK I use for work and your videos have helped me a ton in overcoming my drone anxiety.

Amazing captures and edit! ...hmmm!?? Inspire 2 using 25mm and 45mm lens???
The 45mm is a LOT hard to aim, hard to frame (shooting 5280x2160) and any adjustment is super obvious. Good for simple forward/backward shots but this is hard while dealing with everything the inspire comes with and people looking.
Honestly using 25mm and just cropping is way less effort. Also the 45mm has funky contrast

Unironically the 24/25fps makes it more stuttery than cinematic (at least for mobile view). I hope you try out 30fps/60fps next time!

My comment to QAT... I'm subscribed, and your instruction and videos are so great. But really... it's brutally hot here, and I can't fly that often if at all (don't forget the wind around here). I just moved here (in January), and I feel like a confined prisoner to air conditioning. I'm an older gent, with health issues, so I get it. But I didn't realize it would be this bad. I'll take the critique from Arizonians, but really... why do you live here? I don't want to hear about family traditions (but o.k. yeah, those too). Thanks QAT for great videos though.

Flying above residential properties and motorway is not allowed as well as capturing residents of the hotels around the swimming pool and flying close to the amusement park . It is tempting but in reality ,that is not allowed.
