- The Washington Commanders are one of the favorites to land Myles Garrett after he requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns. Logan Paulsen and I discuss the tremendous impact Garrett could have in Washington, and what we'd be willing to give up in a hypothetical trade.
Plus, we discuss whether Cooper Kupp is worth pursuing for the Commanders.

It’s hard for me to say no to M. Garrett. I trust that AP and DQ will make a decision they feel is in the team best interest. If they decide to roll the dice, I’m all in. If they decide not to, I’m all in. I’m just waiting to see what happens this offseason.
This is such a weird answer that a few of y’all make. “In AP we trust”, I get it but for the sake of a convo (just what this video is) think on your own and have an opinion.
I feel what you’re saying as well, but this is my opinion, and how I actually feel. Do you know how long we had to endure incompetence in the front office because of Dan Snyder refusing to hire a relevant GM? We haven’t had a great Front Office like this since the days of Bobby Bethard. 14 wins in one offseason is something Snyder couldn’t achieve in over two decades. I don’t have a problem with anyone else forming their own opinion on what actions they think Washington should make. All I’m saying is the person Josh Harris is paying to do that very thing has proven to be capable, so I choose not create mocks anymore because I personally don’t feel the need too. I’ll just wait for the results and then state my opinion afterwards.
Adding Garrett is a no brainer if the price was acceptable. I just can’t see the price being reasonable unless they like one of our DL guys. 2 #1s plus seems a bit steep for a team building for the future. I think our only hope for this is to happen is if he really wants to be here and refuses to agree to an extension with anybody but Washington.
I think it was Bill Parcels that said he ran a 3-4 defense to avoid having to overpay pass rushers. He said he could scheme up pressure with more athletic linebackers as well as have them in coverage when needed.
Oh. You mean in the 1990's?! It is 2025!!!!
Different time, same issue. Why depend on one or two players to do something many can do? Especially at a lower cost. There’s also the real threat of injuries.
Because “many” can’t do what he does. That is the entire point.
3-4 defense never worked out for us before.... I'll take 4-3 any day
U can't put a price on guy that says f the money, I want to win. He's got the right mindset, let's go get em
I have a feeling Myles Garrett is going to have to not show up to OTAs, and force his way out. Which might drive down the price a bit, all in on adding him. He’d strike fear into that Philly o-line
5th rounder for Kupp all day long.
I think it comes down to what other moves are made. In a vacuum, it’s easy to say Yes but we have so many needs.
We got a #4 draft pick bust at DE with Clenlin.. 16 total sacks in the same amount of time Myles got 102 sacks!!! Upgrade immediately...Fowler is cool but he's 31 years old. Armstrong and Myles are a crazy combo and letting Payne and his huge cap go is a must!!! HTTR
Armstrong, Fowler, Ferrell are all guys that play really well as robins to a Batman. There was no Batman in 2024. Myles would be the Batman and all our robins would thrive in lesser roles
We need a Myles Garret or a DE or DT of that caliber , It would be nice to have Cupp , but at the end of the day, JD5 has the ability to make D. Brown look like an all pro .
JD5 's favorite part of the game is looking off the S and throwing open his #3 receiver .
Not worth giving up First Round Picks, how many years will he play or be healthy?…..We have a very Deep D line Draft Class, trade away on our D Linemen Payne or Allen for more Picks. We need youth on the D and O Line.
TRIPPING!! You not getting no star player that late in the draft when we select. Rather go with the proven generational talent..
@@xxxxxx-ux2wz, you can get some stars. There are some dawgs to be had, but he's still tripping. There are Myles Garretts in this draft, that's for sure. Go get Myles. Period.
Cooper is a hard worker and a smart football player we would be a great piece
His cap hit to the Rams is roughly $30 million in 2025 and $27 million in 2026. His cash salary will be $20 million for 2025. We might be better off waiting to see if he's cut and then trying to negotiate a more appropriate price considering his age and injury history. There may be better uses for this amount of money.
No, if everything else was in place and need just a few players here and there then yes. We are still building a team, not there yet. There are some excellent foundational players in the draft that can help us get there.
Yes we should
Dlinemen are deep in this draft class no need to give a lot up for One player i dont care eho it is. We need young guys
Garrett, yes. The price is worth the it for a player that can impact the game as much as he does. Kupp? No. If they release him, I am all for giving him a reasonable deal. But not trading assets and giving a sizeable contract to a player on the wrong side of 30 with injury concerns.
Pay Dyami Brown!! His getting better n better
I would Tag Dyami,
Sign Tee Higgins
Draft a WR in 3rd Round
Go after Miles Garrett
Bring back Chase Young at a cheap contract
Draft A DE In 2nd Round (Draft is DE Rich)
Draft an OL in a 1st Round Pick
@@FootBall-f4d1m tagging dyami is insane. No one in their right mind would pay him even half of the tag price.
I've always felt that there are great players you can trade for, then there are HOF layers. For an HOF player like Garrett, the only people not on the trade block are your Team captains.
Darius Slayton would be Better in this Offense. He just turned 28, dont have to trade for him and hell be cheaper
Hard NO for Myles Garrett too much Draft Capital and im not giving up a Frankie Luvu yall crazy
That’s a weird rumor… there’s no way Frankie would be a want for Cleveland.
Give them Jonathan or Daron Payne not Luvu
Both, if we could get them. I think Garrett is a no brainer AS LONG AS we don't have to give up 3 first rounders or something crazy. As far as Kupp is concerned, Peters is smart enough not to mortgage the farm on a player who hasn't played a full season since 2021. You can pretty much count on him missing 1/3 of the season.
I'm not completely sold on Cooper Kupp because we already have that type of possession + receiver, and his name is Terry McLaurin. Plus Kupp has had some issues with injuries. Maybe they'll complement each other, but I feel like a speedster or a big receiver is what's needed to stretch the field
Terry really isn’t that. Hes not the best route runner, he’s more of a deep threat.
Give them our 1st, 3rd & Jon Allen
Nowhere near what Browns would take for him.
Cleveland is in rough cap shape. They can’t take Allen’s contract back.. strictly picks and if it’s a player or 2, they’ll be on their rookie deal. Quan Martin & BRob is just my guess
@ yeah Jon Allen was just wishful thinking. They don’t want his big ass.
@@terrycoye3373 you’re prob right. Just saying how far I would go. Would love to get Myles but not worth two firsts imo.
Don’t give up any early picks
Is the free agent market more promising for an edge rusher?
I know Cleveland isn’t just gonna give him away but he is going to be 30 and need a new contract and Myles Garrett won’t go to a team that isn’t gonna win. So with that said there is a leverage game to this we’ve seen plenty of trades where the perceived outside value might not match the industry view. Trent Williams in his late prime went for a third and change. Young Brian burns went for two seconds. Dhop in his prime went for a second and an injured RB. There’s a lot of factors here. Plus a Garrett trade actually doesn’t relieve Cleveland’s cap situation as much for 2025 and 2026 as much as you’d think. I think 29 a third and a 2026 second and a fourth. But I will say this if Cleveland truly wants to hit a reset like they should and this is wishful thinking I will preface this getting someone like maybe Denzel ward with Garrett and going hey next years 1 and 2 and conditional 4 that could turn into a 3 next year could really benefit both parties Cleveland can get a blue chip prospect at the top of this year not force a qb and have plenty of capital to move up for an arch manning or whoever next year and really build this out
Along with draft capital this year like a 1 and 2
Pass on this ….
Myles Garrett has demonstrated that if he is unhappy he goes public, and that he has no loyalty. PETERS DOES NOT WANT THIS. Which is why we cut our kicker, Peters does not want anyone making waves.
I would like to have Myles Garrett, but I don't want to give up too much for him. Two number 1's is too much. And having to add another player in it is too much
You boys remember Albert Haynesworth? He was awesome with the Titans, absolutely unstoppable!! Rarely works to take other teams stars, build through the draft.
Oh please stop it!!!🙄
@ you gotta have a better argument than “oh please stop it”.
The better argument is everyone knew Haynesworth was a dud and a terrible pro and Garrett is the consummate professional, works his ass off, and has produced beyond the expected level of a guy who went #1 overall as a DE. The hell is wrong with yall? 😂😂
I’d be very surprised if a non-rookie player is attached to the Myles Garrett trade. One of the very few attractive reasons for Cleveland to trade him is to get out of cap purgatory.
My understanding is Garrett let them re-do his contract to help them and now he costs more to trade than play for them against their cap. So if we pick up part of his salary to offset needing more deaft capital, it could work out. If they want more than a 1st for 2025 and 2026, its too much. You could argue there is no Garrett at 29, I'd prefer only giving up a 2nd in 2026 instead of a 1st. We do have competition, but Detroit lost their coordinators, Bears have new coaches, NE and Raiders has iffy QB. Minn has Darnold. Others are in cap trouble like Dallas.
2 number one picks and the number one salary at that position in 2 years, requires the GM saying I can't do better with those picks. Adam Peters doesn't sound like that type of GM.
Craig, how many years would you say Garrett will play at a high level? I'm all in if he can provide atleast 3 years
I would take Saquon for this team over Garrett 😂 The man rocked us but he’s so damn talented.
No on cupp. No on letting go of Luvu
Get Myles asap.
Give em Jon Allen and Payne
Wish list: trade for Garrett..2025 1st, 2026 1st or 2nd and Jon Allen
Sign Khalil Mack on a 2yr deal..draft an explosive RB
This team sped up the time clock with how they played this year. We need to construct this roster to beat philly..I think those 2 edge rush signings does it.
2 round 1 is too steep.
My concerns with trading for Garrett is price. The price of something is always at least partially determined by the demand. Garrett is going to be in demand by every team that thinks it's near championship level - which is probably half the league or more because alot of teams are delusional. And not all of those teams are run by smart people. Someone's going to offer up the entire farm for this guy, and I don't want to stay in that bidding war. The thing that made trading for Lattimore compelling was how cheap the price ended up. That's not going to happen with Garrett, I don't think. Someone is going to pay an eye-watering price.
Cleveland says they don't want to trade him, but they absolutely should. With the Watson cap disaster and no QB in sight, Cleveland is years away from contention. They should absolutely trade him and restock.
The Browns dont have enough cap space to take on 2 players in a trade. I would consider 2 firsts and a 3 or 4 next year
Feel like this is a no-brainer to go after Garrett instead of Kupp...just my opinion though
I thought we shoulda traded for cooper cup when we got lattimore
No way they’re expecting a 2nd/3rd for Kupp. Well maybe a 3rd but if they’ll let him go for a 4th or 5th. & Rams are willing to pay some of his contract. Kupp would be a great addition. Myles is a no brainer, but two 1st’s is too much. HTTC
Take Myles and draft a young WR
I would rather trade gor Garrett Wilson
Garrett yes Kupp absolutely not. If we going to trade with the Rams trade for Puka. 😊
I’m not trading SAINRISTIL either
NO!!!!!! Garrette NO Max. use those draft picks and $$ elsewhere. I consistently get 29Ersery, 33 Omarion Hampton, 38 Grey Zabel , 45 Savion Williams, 50 DeoneWalker, 55,Xavier zRestrepo, 69 Jack Bech,75 Maxwell Harriston, 136 Andres Borragales, all with rookie contracts leaving most our cap $$ to grab DJ Reed, Chris Godwin, Ronnie StanleyKalil Mack, Demarcus Lawrance and resign some of our current players. Seems much more balanced and less risky. Just my $.02
Good report. First of all, we are the Washington Redskins. We will always be the Washington Redskins. And if the current owner doesn’t understand that then we’re in big trouble. That means the stain from the previous owner will forever affect the karma of this team. We will never win. We will be cursed forever. Because we are the Washington Redskins. Secondly going and getting good players from bad teams has never ever worked. Why do you wanna follow the same formula that Daniel Snyder followed when he went and got Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith and countless list of other players name players and paid them big money and gave up number one draft picks. Why would you want to do that. You’re just doing what Daniel Snyder would’ve done. That’s why we are the Washington Redskins. Build from the draft the next two years number ones Alabama will produce a line rusher Georgia will produce a quarterback, I mean quarterback. You see this is what I mean by following what the old owner did these bonehead moves. These obvious moves. This is why great teams are great because they make their own way. Look what Tom Brady is doing in Oakland he is surrounding himself with good people football people, and they will make good moves. Last year we made good moves. Our best players came from the draft. Yes, I understand Bob, the Bobby Wagner yes Bob Wagner was necessary to bring in and to keep hopefully to keep as a coach later. But the go and get good players from bad teams that is that sets a precedent that will forever destroy our team. We want team players. Right now we have a brotherhood in the locker room. That’s important. Right now we have nobody making tons of money. You bringing these big high-quality money players And the team will suffer. You gotta understand the mentality of the players. Right now everyone’s on equal playing field. Bring in these money players the other players it won’t be a brotherhood. It’ll only be about the money. This is the NFL. It’s about money. Build from the draft two and three-year players find your talent. Find your talent. Do not get great players some bad teams oh my gosh. That is a formula for disaster. We’ll just be like the old Redskins again with Daniel Snyder losers. Build from the draft build from trades for second and third year players on their way up that have talent and skills and a work ethic. Fine players like Terry McLaurin Real football players. Don’t go for the players 2932 three years they’ll be out and they’ll take all your money in your draft picks. This is a suckers move. Taking these guys whether it be the Dallas dude or the Cleveland dude you see that’s the mistake when you have a defensive coach, you see their eyes light up with these big hitters. That’s a sucker bet. Build from the draft bill from trading for two and three-year players who are proving their worth who are putting in the work the effort the commitment and they have the passion for football. You see this is how they’re gonna break this commander team by sending out these carrots sending out and everyone’s jumping on the bandwagon the commanders should get him. The commanders should get him having a blah blah blah. Wrong bill from the draft bill from two and three year players and approving their worth. That’s the way to build a Super Bowl champion. You see they’re already out there trying to break us down. Hell might as well bring back Daniel Snyder. We are the Redskins. We are five times Super Bowl appearances three times Super Bowl winner. We are the Washington Redskins. This owner is soft. This new owner is weak. He should’ve changed the name from day one. He is soft and he’s weak and he will not build a Super Bowl champion. If they follow the formula of Daniel Snyder. Just change the damn name back to Redskins. If you do that, this team will win Super Bowls multiple Super Bowls. We are the Washington Redskins. God bless the Washington Redskins. God bless the NFL. And God BlessAmerica. Hail to the Redskins hail victory.
I read like two sentences of this and you don’t seem to know what year it is, how football works, who Myles Garrett is, or where the return key is on your keyboard to make this not nauseating to look at.
Neither.
NOOOOOO! What, is this the return of Dan Snyder? Don’t give up draft picks. Allen and or Payne could be traded, but don’t repeat mistakes of the past. There is a strong class of defensive front players in this draft. If you want a Carter type, get a Sumo wrestler!
Send This yrs 1st John Allen + dorance Armstrong and a 2nd next yr
The Eagles have dogs on their team. We only have two. Make the trade.
I don’t remember Garrett doing anything against the Commanders this year!
Lol there's still time to delete this
He was hurt and this is the dumbest possible way to evaluate a player
Don’t touch Frankie Luvuu or Bobby Wagner. You would cut out the heart and soul!
It’s going to take (2) 1st rounders to get Myles Garrett and you do it immediately without an ounce of thought. Also, this draft class is awful which is even more of a reason to trade for him.
Actually this is an excellent and Deep Draft for D Linemen.
Straight no.
YES, Micah Parsons will be a free agent in 2026 and we can outbid anyone.
NO, with the type of auction going on whoever "wins" the auction for Garrett will be a loser because the cost will be TOO HIGH.
Dont mess with the culture, keep the cornerstone in place
Agree
@@yondego4733 Nah, you don't get this kind of opportunity often. Who at pick 29 is going to be as good as Garrett?
Yea we need an xfactor on defense . Do what u gotta do to get him
@@treflips2158right even 2 good players don’t have the impact on a game or season like a player of his caliber . This is a no brainer if u want to compete against a stacked team like Philly !
What does that statement "keep the cornerstone in place" even mean? Jayden is on a rookie contract. Now is the time to load up on talent in free agency and the draft because the highest paid position on the team won't need to be paid for another 3 years.
This potential trade reminds me of the Bruce Smith trade. We had a bad habbitnof chasing shiny objects. Dontnget me wrong, he is a freak but are we that close that one player will take us to the next level???
If this reminds you of Bruce Smith, your talent evaluation skills are as good as Daniel M Snyder's
Kupp is not something special anymore. Injuries got him and we shouldn’t spend a dime on him. Way too many WRs out there who can do what he does at this stage in his career
Chiefs are always in the Superbowl.
There's not Miles.G
They have Chris Jones? One of the few players in Garrett’s class? What is wrong with you people 😂😂😂😂
This guy is a moron they would never trade terry
My fantasy scenario would be pick up Garrett Crosby and Higgins and then draft a couple of big giant all pro O linemen an rb and a shutdown corner……….. imagine! 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
