Love your video! I was a specialty hoe too (and I'm gonna start using it from now on). I decided on pediatrics. It is sometimes overwhelming because there's a lot of interaction and then I just need my 30 mins of not talking to anyone on my way home but I like it. I never really thought about radiology but I remember I found it fascinating to look at scans during anatomy classes and figure out what is what. If I was to think again, maybe I'd consider radiology too. Thanks for the video!
Haha. Use away. Never did paediatrics but loved my paeds radiology block and almost went into it. The kids were cute but didn't think I would be able to handle the parents long term.
I have been moving between 3 specialities during my medical student years so I felt so related with the "specialty hoe too" Now I'm between two: Endocrinology and Radiology. (Sorry Neurology I had to let you go LOL) I loved your video the reasons you said its the same reasons why I love Radiology: 1. Work enviroiment I'm exactly like you I hate the beep I wont be able to live in a emergency room 2. The Scope of practice: not being exclusively in one medical field and also I love doing radiology reports 3. Practical Skills :Same I like surgery but no for a lifetime and radiology makes you go and be there for awhile and I love that, 4. The Nature of Job: I loved when you said that makes you wake up in the morning and also the Sherlock Holmes so perfect 5. Less Patient Interaction is the only one makes me balance between Radiology and Endocrinology, I really like be in touch with the patients and spend time with them, I know sometimes its super hard to handle everyday because you can get involved too much but I dont know I like to have the contact and relate the tests and diagnosis with the patient But I have 4/5 so definitely I'm moving more and more to Radiology I loved your video and channell I think you will make me decide the right choice :)
From what I've observed of radiology, I disagree with 4. That's the thing I like most in medicine, i.e. detective work, but radiology rarely does any detective work, they generally can see the answer straight away and don't even need to read the patient's history. I much prefer the more analytical style of thinking and detective work seen in internal medicine, neurology, rheumatology etc where you actually have to think about the case and integrate information to get a diagnosis, rather than the instantaneous pattern recognition done in radiology.
@@vans4lyf2013 no it's false . You do detective work every time in radiology because you have plenty of different disease with the same images. Radiology is like a playing puzzle
Great tips!! Yes, radiology is very hidden 😂, which I've always found kind of strange...lol. I'm very happy for you that you found a specialty that makes you happy!!
Thank you for the video and the test link, both are very useful! I've always liked psychiatry, but my temperament is terrible for that specialty. Radiology has always been a close second, and I may have a offer in a good radiology school in a month or so, I think I'll go
Thank you so much ❤️ so helpful. F2 in New Zealand and struggling to choose but relate to everything you said! Don't know whether I want to do dermatology or radiology but I'll take the test and maybe it'll tell me what to do 😂
Thank you on your enlightening video doc I’m considering radiology for so many reasons And the top of my list is the self doubt I have to deal with constantly when I have to deal with patients I absolutely do not like it Do I need to deal with this as a radiologist also Plus do I also have to be super good at anatomy I’ll really appreciate your feedback
IOM UK TB test results i had the report Negative TB and only chest x ray abnormal. short bandlike opacity in the left lung base. i had IGRA test is Negative. could i apply work visa for UK please tell me?
Can you share how did you know surgery is not for you? I'm also a doctor facing difficulty in choosing specialty. I was in OBGYN training and it was too much stressful for me. Now I'm confused between Cardiothoracic surgery and radiology and imaging. I don't like too much stress.
Hi there. Don't let that discourage you. You do learn these things with time and also, depending on what subspec you do and where you work, you can avoid doing any procedures entirely 😊
Hi Guys, here is the link to the test

I absolutely do not like it
Do I need to deal with this as a radiologist also
Plus do I also have to be super good at anatomy
I’ll really appreciate your feedback
very helpful, thanks ❤️
Thanks for watching. Glad it was useful
Super helpful video! Can you post the link to the personality/specialty test you used?

Thank you
I've put a link in the pinned comment. Thanks for watching!
Great video again!
How great does your anatomy have to be for radiology?
Thanks. Anatomy doesn't have to be great to apply/start, but will need to be by at least the second year and will get better as you progress.
IOM UK TB test results i had the report Negative TB and only chest x ray abnormal.
short bandlike opacity in the left lung base. i had IGRA test is Negative.

Cardiothoracic surgery training is usually long, and IMO surgery is generally stressful
Which test is it that you did for speciality shortlisting in the end of video?
I've put a link in the pinned comment. Thanks for watching!

What test did you take?the one that you mentioned at the end of the video?

Do you have to be very smart with your basics to get into radiology???
I think I'll also call myself a specialty hoe from now lol. What specialty test did you take? I couldn't find the link anywhere. Thanks!
Haha. I have put the link in a pinned comment above. Thanks for watching :)
Fantastic vlog! What camera did you use to film this video and what software did use to edit this vlog?
Thanks. All my vlogs are filmed using my iPhone 13 pro camera and edited using final cut pro. The regular videos are filmed using a Sony ZV1 camera.
Please give us the link to the test

I am strongly inclined towards radiology but I don't think I have good motor skills for procedures.

@@thesavvydoctor6729 thanks doc, that gives me hope 🥺
