Bobbie was such an inspiration of Love and Loyalty and of course Perserverance. May he rest in Peace and frolic over the rainbow bridge, Thank you for bringing this wonderful story to us.
I'm loving this series. It has a similar feel to me as a book I found at a garage sale. It was a hardcover Reader's Digest with a copyright, I think, in the 50s? Maybe 80s. I think it was called, "Animals You'll Never Forget" or, "Animal Stories You'll Never Forget"- either way, if you can get hold of this book, it might be a good jumping off point for future stories if you wish to do any more of these. My favourite in that book was about Ruffles the Myna, who sat with healing soldiers during WWI and talked to them to keep spirits up. There were several other stories in there worth exploring, like Buddy the "first" seeing-eye dog (specifically, she was THE ambassador dog to legalising and normalising the idea of service animals), or another about a seal that turned up on an English beach and bonded with the humans there to the point he would literally cry when his human friends had to leave for the day (the author of this story puts a LOT of emphasis on how when this seal cried, his tears simply poured out of his eyes unlike us, whose tears come from the corners of our eyes). I really cannot recommend that book enough if you want more stories featuring extraordinary animals, and it makes me furious every day to think that I lost that book to someone being a careless jerk who stole it, then abandoned it in some nearby woods where I didn't find it again until it was completely consumed by fungi. I also lost several Peterson field guides in this robbery.
What a loyal dog! And then there’s our dog who will go anywhere with anyone. He proved it by jumping into some random people’s car and traveling with them for several states before we could find him. He’s loyal too…it’s just to every single human being that’s ever existed and ever will exist! 😂😂😂
I love this story since unlike some others it has so many people who back it up. That the way stations the family stayed at along with so many other people verify not just that Bobbie did do all of that but how. I only found your channel yesterday and am very much enjoying it
Traveling over 2,500 miles across the United States [A] Bobbie the Wonder Dog (1921-1927) was a dog who is acclaimed for walking 2,551 miles (4,105 km) on his own to return home to Silverton, Oregon, United States, after he was lost while his owners were visiting family in Wolcott, Indiana.
I remember a book I read once that might have been partially inspired by this story but only partially. The book followed a dog who ended up getting lost and all the twists and turns in the dogs journey trying to get back home. Eventually ended up losing a leg and getting adopted by this kid and his father. Someone took a video of the dog reacting strangely to one particular song (it was a song his original owner played on the piano every morning). The original owner saw the video and messaged them and started visiting them and the dog regularly and she ended up falling in love with the widower father and they got married. Anyway the book was called "Roam" I think
❤❤❤poor Bobby only lived for6 yrs😢I guess the trek back to her home just wore her totally out! Bobby should not have been exploited for "surviving" her ordeal! Bobby needed a quiet, secure life😢
He did start this week saying that this is a week of daily uploads specifically to honour specific extraordinary animal's stories, so I think it's safe to assume he'll go back to weekly uploads after that.
Bobbie is such a good boy

Please do one on Smoky the Yorkie!
Smoky (c. 1943 - 21 February 1957), a Yorkshire Terrier, was a famous war dog who served in World War II

1 litter, 15 puppies, all male 🗿
IKR! I wonder if any of his blood line still exists. 😊

He did start this week saying that this is a week of daily uploads specifically to honour specific extraordinary animal's stories, so I think it's safe to assume he'll go back to weekly uploads after that.
Be patient.
