As a black man born in the Caribbean, raised in the USA, living in Canada...I've noticed one thing, music brings us together. Look at this group and how they flow to the music, it's in their soul. This was amazing to see...thank you for this.
you nailed it. a friend posted this on fb. absolutely beautiful to watch.
Music and Dancing and Fashion!
not really, all they do is imitate us. Its how they get the comments like yours, and attention. Everything beautiful and perfect and original is from us.
@@Rememberwhatyouknow cultural exchange and appreciation enriches us all. It happens because art is valuable and lives by being experienced. When it stops being experienced it dies. Long live art.
@@Rememberwhatyouknow Well THAT’S racist 😤
I did a little desk research and found out that these kids are led by a lady dancer named Moga. They are members of a dance studio called BEAT SURF Tendo in Yamagata, Japan! I read that "MOGA is known for taking her form of 'Soul & Waacking', which is a fusion of a style of dance which originated from the 1970’s TV show, “Soul Train”, and blended with a form of street dance called waacking"... Music flows from humanity and yet transcends humanity's frailties. Love, love, love this!
Beautifully said mate.
Thanks brother
That's what's up!👍🏾
I feel it
Arts are on a palette ready to blend in so many ways. Your research proves!!
The moves, the song, and the clothes. This was literally ✨PERFECTION✨
Dang....I can watch this a zillion times and it always puts a smile on my face
C'est exactement pareil pour moi !!!
James Brown would have loved their energy. This is a great tribute to the Godfather of Soul. Amazing choreography and fun.
Oh yes! James Brown would have TOTALLY been floored seeing this. Imagine somehow he saw it back in his day? I mean it was “taboo” for black people to move like this, seeing a group of Asian WOMEN would have blown his mind .. I think even now up in funk heaven he is seeing this & going “YASSS that’s what’s up! Whoo” hehe😆 Such fabulus choreography, but only pulled off by these phenomenal movers and shakers💃 I liked your comment, so I hope you don’t mind me nattering away🫣☺️🙋♀️
This is great tribute to being black in the face of racism and all other atrocities against ppl of color
James Brown know that his music gives energy. That was the reason why he created a certain way.
No he would have said, “not such a bad imitation, but an imitation no less, next”
Absolutely well said 👍⭐
Being Black and Japanese I'm getting a taste of both of my cultures, the choreography is just perfect and a joy to watch.
Wow, what a mix, what is it like ?

That's pretty cool. Mix races are often very beautiful!
Imagine everyone in Japan being just like you.
Incredible! James Brown would’ve been impressed. Perfect blend of cultures, peoples, movement n’ sound. Incredible dancers and choreography, looking forward to seeing more.
This ain’t James Brown lol.

True.
This is one of the best dance routines I have seen in a long time. They are genuinely having a funky good time!
You should see the Black people they stole it from
As a black american woman who grew up listening to James Brown, I LOVE THIS!! I appreciate that these dancers put every ounce of their heart and soul into this. We really are all one love. More of humanity just needs to realize it. ♥️
whats with that i am a black woman another racist prick
I love how soul music is universal the world loves soul music
Sweet ledonna please give this old white guy a hug. You warm my heart.
Why qualify your self as a black American woman? I'm not black and I'm not a women I'm A human of this planet that grew up rocking to James Brown! All good music transcends time colour and gender.
@@seamoreplant As a child, we were not exposed to other ethnicities who listened to soul music...hence, my beginning statement. In the area I grew up in, anything pertaining to black people in the 60s-70s wasn't celebrated openly. Certainly I'm not a child now and thankfully times have changed. It helps to have an open mind.
I was ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSED!! This chorography was so smooth and seamless, just the flow of it how in sync they were. Just awesome! BRAVO!!!!
Now THIS is cultural appreciation done right- no appropriation here! It warms my heart to see such talent used to highlight my culture. Y'all did the dang thang.

you are being racist just saying this. So you are give these Asian dancers permission, or your approval to dance to James Brown? Nobody cares. Woke Westerners, what a joke. On there way to extinction.
I'm 68 and I go back to my preteen years jamming 🎶 with James Brown. The led dancer in front is so silky smooth, that I can't stop looking at her flow in order to see everyone else. WOW !!!! I've fallen and I can't get up. As James Brown would say , Somebody help me now !!!
Bruh she didn’t miss a step!!! 😮
Cant nobody stop looking at her smooth ass. Why is she not plastered all over every TV, billboard, meme, all over the world?!! THAT is talent.
All of these dancers are great and some absolutely masterful. But somehow the lead dancer in yellow is on an even higher level that’s hypnotic.
Maceo... help me get up!
I feel the same way! Incredibly funky music with dancing to match. So fun to watch, over and over.......can't get enough of it!
It's about time Asian women are represented in these dances. As a Caribbean female, I absolutely welcome their platform!!! Please keep it coming, ladies. Every culture has its sexiness, bring it ladies!

@@HJKelley47 You mean in the same way that we do wu tang clan and bruce Leroy and enjoy other cultures while robbing them when they selling in our neighborhoods??
Just because I may enjoy a part of someones culture doesn't mean I need to be surrounded by it.
@@HJKelley47 💯 you are absolutely right, the nerve of these ungrateful 3rd world scamming immigrants.
@@EPUEPUEPUEPUThat's your equivalency? "Wu tang and Bruce Leroy? And robbing them in our neighborhood? The Wu Tang Clan (1 rap group from the 90s) made asian culture look good, not the other way around. So the asians should thank them for that.
Bruce Leroy (1 movie, in the 80s) which was mostly black infused culture, only difference they did karate when they fought.. big deal. Still made asian culture look good, not the other way around.
As far as robbing them? Black americans are asians number 1 consumers. We are the reason they are the highest earners in America. Black Americans are the reason they can flee their 3rd world countries and enjoy all the social, political, and economic benefits that only black americans fought and died for. In return they are extremely hostile, disrespectful and racist towards fba's. They own all the "hip hop" clothing stores selling black culture, and follow blacks around like black are the ones stealing their culture. These 3rd world immigrants are the real thieves, and deserve to get robbed.
As for you, I don't know why you start your comment off by saying ( *we* ) , when you know damn well you are not a foundational black american. Most likely you are an immigrant 3rd world fleeing tether like the asians, and you're projecting your jealousy and envy towardsfba's. So stop acting like you speak for us, because unlike you and these 3rd world culture vulture asians, we are not scamming immigrants.
Our hats are off to you Moga_Almeri. Simply exquisite. All of the dancers are excellent and did a magnificent job, but I must say the young lady in the yellow pants was so good, she seemed almost to be having an out-of-body experience. You can't fake that kind of pure joy. Wonderful to watch.
I concur. You can't teach that kind of talent. You are either born with it or not. She's special
That's Moga, she the choreographer. Yellow Pants
I actually get a chill watching this. My late husband used to perform with James Brown's band out of Cincinnati. King Records.
JAMES BROWN was the greatest entertainer of all time.
This was OFF da CHAIN. Never seen such fluid movement, improvisation and synchronicity. and to a James Brown song. These girls NAILED it
- "Never seen such fluid movement, improvisation and synchronicity...."
Except towards the end the video is completely out of sync with the sound - I hope I'm not the only one of the 3,000 commenters who noticed it. As a consequence, the dancers aren't dancing to the rhythm during much of the video. It's a shame, because the dancing is superb and the choreography refreshingly different. It tells something about the quality of the choreography and the dancers that I still greatly enjoyed the video despite the above mentioned problem (which you don't often see on today's RUclips dance videos).
@@adoatero5129 Aight Terence Fletcher😂 so what if it aint your tempo. The whole style here is fluidity and weirdness. The dance moves arent rigid and perfect, they are chaotic and flowy. If they're slightly off beat it actually adds to the overall performance since it emphasises the weird lanky moves. Regardless they're out there dancin and expressing themselves artistically, what does a benchwarmer like yourself sitting on the sidlines know about what they're performing. If you're the 1 out of 3,000 commentors who thinks something is off i hate to break it to you.....but statistically the problem is you😂😂
@@brentrebrab You misunderstood my comment pretty much completely, and as a consequence your comment is pretty much completely off. I wrote "the video is out of sync with the sound" and "dancing is superb". Which part of those sentences don't you understand? I don't know how to say those things more clearly. Is my English a problem? (I'm not a native speaker). I'll try again slowly: I... wasn't... criticizing... the... dancers. I... pointed... out... that... the... video (what you see)... and the sound (what you hear)... are not in sync (growingly towards the end of the video). It's of course not a problem with dancing. The sound also isn't "slightly off beat". At the beginning of the video it is fully in sync, but towards the end rhythm is off a half beat (it couldn’t be off more).
It's kind of cute that you think that the erroneous sound track somehow belongs to the dancing or the choreography, but of course it doesn't. It's just an editing mistake. What probably happened is that someone was given the job to replace the original music track (which consists of the music that was played through speakers in the dancing studio during the performance) with a better sounding track (a studio recording). Unfortunately the two pieces of music played at different speeds. The person who did the editing perhaps watched only the beginning of the end result, and didn't notice that the sound goes more and more off sync towards the end of the video.
- “If you're the 1 out of 3,000 commentors who thinks something is off…”
I’m pretty sure you didn’t read even one tenth of those comments, but correct me if I’m wrong. Anyway, I don’t “think” something is off. I know it is. I’m pretty sure that if you read my explanation above with thought, and watch the video with that explanation in your mind, you too will notice how the sound gradually goes fully off sync towards the end of the video. I suggest that you try to see and hear it, and come back to tell me whether you do or not.
Remember: on my original comment I didn’t say one word about the dancing or the choreography being anything but superb. I only wrote about an editing error with the sound track.
It's not improvisation, but it's awesome.
@@brentrebrab - None of what you wrote was even close to being relevant.

Spot on
I am an Afrophile, Hispanophile and Hellenophile and Anglophile when it comes to dancing and music. Always have been impressed by music and dance at crossroads. James Brown has always made my body unable to stand still. So the music in this is a solid A. However, the woman in the yellow pants is hauntingly awesome. I have been mesmerized by Bob Fosse, Gwen Verdon, K Dunham, Sammy Davis, Gregory Hines, The Soul Train dancers and even Mick Jagger's choreathetotic movements.
