Amazing match between these two ladies. Ito has proven once again that she is the real threat to China in the coming Tokyo 2020 Olympics and in the years to come. Her flat backhand and forehand drives are causing problems to Chinese players. If she keeps her consistency and accuracy, she'll no doubt be a big problem to China. Can't say anything less about Chen Meng. She kept her poise and composure after being down 3-1. I didn't see her prove anything besides being mentally weak in the decider. Not the first time that can be observed. An arear the Chinese excelle usually is being mentally strong, thus I can't see Ito competing in Tokyo unless she improves in that field.

Chen gained momentum after she started to consistently feed long loops to Ito’s backhand. Ito’s forehand was phenomenal in both aggressive smashing and effective countering. Her backhand is tricky and speedy but didn’t handle Chen’s high-quality spin well enough to get the win. I also feel Chen was a little flat-footed, hopefully just because of the pressure. Ito continues to be the biggest threat to CNT and I think we all look forward to what comes next.

Her trump card is the BH pimples which impact unpredictable counters, blocks and flat, speedy punches. Now she's thoroughly dissected and effectively neutralized. However, it's not an easy task coz the Chinese are NOT fighting fire with fire (same rubber combo & blade) but gone up to a higher level of power, spin and accuracy that's gonna leave the other countries miles behind unless they work hard on the same principle. For Japan, besides Ito, the other top rated girls are clearly miles behind. That shows the difference between hard-earned basic skills and tricky shortcuts. After all, this in fact is a constant see-saw battle which we, as table tennis fanatics, love to watch and cheer with excitement.
seems to me the difference is Ma Lin and his secret instructions. CHO = serve back spin next time, CHO + clap = serve top spin, CHO + 2 claps = surprised serve, CHO LE CHO + clap = serve and third ball attack. xD
Qsxft Hanes I don’t think so, secret signals had been used for ages ago eg. wearing hats, slogans , hand signals, flags etc. Maybe this is one of the reasons why it is allowed the coach shout to their players to give instruction in between plays.
Although losing after being 3-1 up is a bit disappointing, What we've seen from Ito in this tournament is a very good sign that she is still as big a threat as ever to CNT, she just needs to play at this level and consistency more often.

I really prefer seeing women play high level table tennis, their footwork is uncanny, their side steps are so quick, it almost looks like they are sliding.
Mima chang was a bit inpatient towards the end. A time-out should have been called when she had two points behind . Chen Meng played a great game and she got all the momentum after coming back from behind.
Ito has improved her serving, her returning serves to her backhand, her defense against looping, her backhand and forehand punches are more lethal. Do these improvements really give her technical advantages over CNT? If so, she will overcome top chinese players in the near future, maybe 2020 Olympics. Ma Lin sure is noisy as a coach. It's almost as loud as Harimoto sometimes. I get that it's the Finals, but even Chen Meng is staying quiet most of the time. His habits from his playing years are still there lol. Still an amazing game from both players.

The turning point is exactly at 5:5 last game. That Ito's miss shows she got tense and rush because of her desire to win. That ball was a bit short and she should not go in and try to flat kill it. The moment I saw that shot, I know she is done for the match. Too bad for her but it is a price to pay for the lesson. Keep going~
Blocking the serve, ITO blocks the serve with the shoulders. Let's take a look at the slow motion. The ITTF is forbidden to block the serve. The ITO was blocked by the shoulder when serving. The referee should be fair. Why not launch the eagle eye?
The ITTF stipulates that it is not possible to block the serve with any part of the body. Everyone pays attention to the use of the shoulder to block the line of sight before the ITO serves. Obviously blocking the serve!
To be fair though, Wang Liqin, Chen Weixing, and even Xu Xin used to hide their serves with their shoulders. At least you can still see the point of contact with Ito's serves. I mean, look at Par Gerell. I don't know how he gets away with his serves.

其实大部分时间 在顶级比赛中有中国队我们都大概知道输赢是哪方的, 大部分（笑

請注意看ITO 08:14 發球,她是側身幾乎170度,球高拋後往自己的肚子前墜,這時候你若沒站在對角根本看不到擊球點,但在主審位置卻是可以看到發球,這也是主審沒判遮球主因。而右手持拍者往往會選擇往左靠才能短暫看到擊球位置,但這時ITO若發個急旋直線到對面,而對手直撲往右接球必會造成接不好或失誤。或者對方若站中間一點,根本被側身遮住看不到擊球點而出拍且失分。是否有遮球?吊詭是她也並不是每球都如此~~

雙方都打得不錯,只是ITO因CM後來居上,而失去贏球信心,但她到最後都沒手軟放棄值得稱讚。反觀曼昱與SS到最後就崩潰了。個人覺得教練的臨場指導策略有關,相信MA LIN一定在技術細節與心態的調整給于很大協助,這點從CM的勝利感言有特別提到。否則憑SS的實力,至少可以4:2就擋下ITO。

Ma Lin sure is noisy as a coach. It's almost as loud as Harimoto sometimes. I get that it's the Finals, but even Chen Meng is staying quiet most of the time. His habits from his playing years are still there lol. Still an amazing game from both players.
That’s Ma Lin yelling “jolley” when Chen Meng wins a point? What’s up with that? Terribly annoying. That’s worse than them clapping robotically after they win points. That was an awesome match, in spite of the noise by one of the GOATs!

王曼昱最近的状态平平，没有去年的猛，因为输太多内战。输内战还没关系要记得别输外战，她应该要懂得调整自己。至于孙颖莎是后面打得太急无谓的失误太多，跟士气如红伊藤打就得做好每一分的战斗，每一分都要赢的心态，不能让自己轻易地输掉每一分。第六盘孙颖莎己有崩盘的迹象，教练在她被对手逆转的第五场后没能解决她崩盘的心态，第六盘小孙算是轻易地让出了胜利给对方，这是不应该的。伊藤表现得非常好，让两位小魔王得到应该的教训。

@@tungtung808 摒開国籍，伊藤的優点在於失敗後，勇於求变，不拘泥於一種形色，軍無常勢，水無常形，所以过去很多選手常勝她都必被她翻盤，中国教練团还未能真正壓制伊藤，她不像平野石川等技至此已，在多場对戰中国主力是主導了比賽節奏，只是手感不稳定自殺球太多，直接影响勝負，但若求穩定打相持就不是伊藤美誠了。假以時日若尅服手感問題，对手就頭疼了。

伊藤雖然沒拿冠軍，但是她潛心閉關，一出來就直接KO中國年輕一代兩大新星王和孫(而且都沒讓她們拿到三局！)
對付陳夢也是領先到最後，忽然閃人被一波帶走，足見其心智尚有鍛鍊之空間。但雖然最後一哩路難走，至少已經可以望向頂峰，伊藤未來表現值得令人期待。
陳夢拿下冠軍，可見王者風範，這張奧運門票應該是緊緊抓在手心了，但陳夢卡關了好幾年，相信這時刻她的心情一定比我們想得更複雜。
有趣的是，我覺得中國教練團應該一點都無法鬆懈，連續兩年在瑞典，伊藤讓女隊吃了這麼多虧，而且還是在中國傾全隊之力研究她的情況下，還能屢屢有跌破眾人眼鏡的表現，教練團更要戰戰兢兢才行，畢竟東奧已經是在倒數中了，再不想出對策，在地主氣勢加持、伊藤那種人來瘋的加持下，誰都不知道會發生什麼事。
因此，雖然這場比賽有輸贏，但是我覺得兩方都有收穫，打出來的強強對抗，也為東奧拉開一場令人期待的序幕。
伊藤自己受訪時説，打法不怕被冒防覆制硏究，因為不拘泥於形式，水無常形，次次求变，果真説到做到，国乒壓制不成功，仍是所有国乒心覆大患。可敬可佩。

To be fair though, Wang Liqin, Chen Weixing, and even Xu Xin used to hide their serves with their shoulders. At least you can still see the point of contact with Ito's serves. I mean, look at Par Gerell. I don't know how he gets away with his serves.
