I absolutely love how Billy and the boys are keeping these old gems alive. I first heard this at Fox Hollow Festival in 1974
The past couple of years I lost a lot of people in my life, my grandfather who I grew up playing bluegrass with and my grandmother who always took me to church trying to put me on the right path. This song means a lot to me, appreciate you doing it justice. God 🙌 bless
Billy definitely has the heart of Jerry for hymns. I was raised southern Baptist, and this song was a staple, like an infinite vibration. When you realize vibration does heal you and help you recall things, it is incredibly important that we pay attention to the nudges of the universe... Much love to anybody out there that needs uplifting. We are seen and heard, even though it might not feel that way. Don't give up five minutes before the miracle happens...

I love how they can lay out this beautiful song, making you think he goes to church 3 times a week. Then the next song sounds like mushrooms on a Wednesday afternoon.

My father owned a garage where people came to drink and play music but it never went without gospel songs throughout the sessions.
