I just stumbled onto the KCS Speedway program. Well done. My first exposure to the KCS was in 1969 when I joined the Air Force and was stationed at England AFB, at Alexandria. I met an older gentleman out railfanning and he showed me around the area. I was able to shoot photos of KCS, MP/T&P, SP and even Rock Island. Also made a few trips around Monroe, Shreveport, and other locales. Had a great time. The KCS' latest motive power were the SD40-2 "White Knights". They also painted a few F3's and F7's as well as a couple of GP30's white. Thanks for showing the Speedway as it is today.
Oh well, these good old times. But the Speedway is still interesting. Unfortunately, during this visit, they had tied down several trains. So there wasn't much on the move.
HI MBMARS THEY NAMED THIS CORRECTLY THE SPEEDWAY LOVED HOW THE UNION PACIFIC TRAIN PICKING THEM UP AND LAYING EM DOWN FUN TO WATCH. i LIKE THE NIGHT SHOT THE REFLECTIVE TAPE OR PAINT ON THE ENGINES SHOWED UP NICELY IN THE DARK SHOT AT THE END. THAT FAST TRAIN WITH THE UP ENGINES WAS SO FUN TO WATCH MUST OF BEEN BEING SO CLOSE. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING i APPRECIATE
That's true, some of the trains were incredibly fast, which was cool to watch. At night I use an extra LED light. It makes the reflective paint and stripes clearly visible. I like this effect, too.
Another fine video. Sometimes I have to be careful when I watch your productions with headphones on, (so I don't disturb my girl when we're in the living room together). The soothing sounds of steel wheels gliding on the rails can easily put me to sleep. The beauty is, I can always click it back to have another go at it. Thanks for bringing me to the speedway.
Very nicely done! The only things I found wrong tho were the first 2 trains. 23D does not have FedEx, JB Hunt and Swift containers, same with 22G. 23D carries Hub, EMP, XPO, some CR England and occasional Pacer and UPS containers. The first two trains had a lot of JB Hunt and Swift containers on them, which would be 219 running west and 220 running east. In my area, these trains run as KCS IATDA going west, and KCS IDAAT going east. Otherwise, very nicely done! Looking forward to more videos soon!
Thanks! I don't remember where I had this information from, but you could be right. Many things on NS have changed during the last year and it's difficult to keep track.
mbmars01 its all good, man, no worries. If you ever visit the DFW area at some point to hit up the T&P line or the KCS Greenville Sub, or even the Meridian Speedway, feel free to give me a holler. You can find me on Instagram @thekcsrailfan4854, you can find me on Snapchat @realog_farkos27, I’m also Ryan Farkos on Facebook, or you can always text me at (469) 389-5444. I’d be more than happy to help you out with those symbols. And you’re right, some of the symbols have changed, so I can totally understand if there was a bit of a mix-up
Cool, thanks! I might have considered traveling southwest again at about this time of the year, but the virus spread is too unpredictable and I don't want to spend nights in shady motels or hotels during this period.
Great catches! It would have been awesome to see that NS ethanol train with a CN/KCS combo moving. Looks to me like the train was tied down with no one in it.
hey I think you missed numbered the UP intermodal train a the end I think it was supposed to be UP8099. Because I think I saw that same train the same day as you. I saw him in Brandon, Ms
Oh well, I'm sure you're right. It's always difficult to get the numbers right at dark while filming with the eyes glued to the small camcorder display :) Funny you caught the same train.
@@mbmars01 yeah I saw where you put 8199 and was like thats sounds familiar. but you missed an Eastbound NS intermodal with NS9061 leading and another Eastbound UP intermodal with UP4152 leading
On that day, half of which we had spent in Arkansas, we were en route from Texarkana to Yazoo City and didn't actually railfan the speedway. So the catch at Mound was rather accidental. We saw him crossing the Mississippi River in Vicksburg and chased back to Mound to catch him.
There's actually quite some night action in past Abbeville videos. Night filming isn't easy as I need extra light. There are only a handful places where I can do it.
Oh I don't want to imagine it. To run in front of a moving train is already mindless, but to do it on a crossing with two tracks without knowing whether there might be another train coming behind the first one is outright stupid. I like the Canadian railroads! There will be much more of their power in future videos.
Conductor: I have a train to work with and I'm in Mississippi right now! Girlfriend: Maybe considering a new boyfriend unless you hurry up. Conductor: 1:18
Awesome! I wish KCS came to Georgia more. Love all the high speed action and the 3 engine-1 car local lol. If you don’t mind, could you check out my newest video please? Thanks!

NS 1008 1039 and 8177 were caught in my home town Tallulah, LA it’s nice you went down there man.
Awesome, I remember Tallulah very well. This was a fun trip.
Excellent video. I'll be watching and following as move from location to location.
Many thanks! Just keep following this journey. There are more parts to come.
Another great video!👍👍

mbmars01 yeah that’s totally understandable. That’s the big reason why I haven’t been out trackside very much so far this year
Those are great catch I never seen a brand new locomotive before. Killing until the next one.
I actually saw several of these in just a few days, which was surprising. I'll see that I can work on the next one soon.
Nice catches! I actually railfan on the KCS Vicksburg Subdivision too between Vicksburg & Shreveport!
Nice, I hope you typically have better weather. I liked the area, but the weather was really bad.
@@mbmars01 - I just caught iZ-ATLA (which was 225 earlier yesterday evening) on that subdivision. I live on that subdivision.
Nice. Really appreciate the overhead shots. Sort of like seeing a model railroad. Thanks for sharing. 🚂
Nice! You're welcome!
Great catches! It would have been awesome to see that NS ethanol train with a CN/KCS combo moving. Looks to me like the train was tied down with no one in it.
It sure would have been nice, but he didn't look like he was to leave soon.
Very nice! Thumb up and subscribed!
Great, thank you!
Great video, nice catches.
Cool, thank you!
THAT SUCH FRIEND, HAPPY FOR SO SUPER WONDERFUL VIDEOS, FABULOUS TAKE, FABULOUS MACHINES, EVERYTHING IS SUPER, PARENTS PLACES, GREETINGS.
I'm very happy you have fun watching the videos. I appreciate your feedback.
Another good video... Thanks
Cool, thank you!
Man that is a really old NS engine
Cool video, nice to see the KCS.Too bad there are so many idiots crossing in front of trains but your right it happens all the time.
Thank you! Yea, I don't understand it. It should be well known by now that a train cannot stop that quickly.
You saw those UP engine on their way to and from Atlanta
I used to live along this route. Way back then it was running under the Illinois Central banner.
Ah I didn't know it was under the umbrella of IC. I'm surprised it didn't go to CN when they merged IC into their empire.
I think it also operated for a time under Illinois Central Gulf
It will be interesting to see what becomes of this line if the CP acquisition of KCS goes through.
... and what the paint scheme of the new company will look like. The KCS "Belle" scheme is one of the prettiest in modern railroading in my opinion.
Love the video as usual
Very cool, thank you!
I caught CSX Q580 with a Union Pacific C45AH Leading
7:28 is twit the word I'm looking for?
Pretty cool train
Awesome video!
Great you enjoyed it!
Gostei muito desse vídeo.
Excelente! Parabéns!
Muito obrigado!
Super work.
Great, thanks!
awesome video
Cool, thanks.
JUST ANOTHER QUICK OBSERVATION i GOT A BIG KICK OUT OF THREE ENGINES AND ONE TANK CAR. i LIKE THE VETERANS UNIT THANKS FOR INCLUDING IT. TAKE CARE
Unfortunately, the veterans unit didn't move so this was the only shot I could get of it.
This is awesome!!!!
Cool, thank you!
@@mbmars01 you are very welcome !
Keep 'em coming!
I'll try my very best - as always :)

11:15 Seems like a lot of power for 1 tank car. ;-)
Lol, certainly.
Car is filled with a little Neutron material
what these cars are..at 15.40? thanks mbmars for another great 4k video....greetings from germany
Greetings back! These care are called coil cars - they have coils of sheet metal under the protective hood.
Ah..ok. thank you...
You're welcome.
It would be cool if you did Nite action on the Abbeville sub
There's actually quite some night action in past Abbeville videos. Night filming isn't easy as I need extra light. There are only a handful places where I can do it.

Cool, thank you so much! Greetings back from Georgia.
Did u catch Q580 on sunday my bday, i did in waxhaw. CSX leader 4023 beating out an AC4400CW, And a gevo
Happy Birthday! No, I didn't catch Q580 recently.
i wish i was there with you

Lol, that's a good one. This is what the speedway has been made for :)
@@mbmars01 hehe 😂
I saw speedway, as soon as it was posted I thought it was a nascar thing considering it said speedway. Nope
ikr as a fan of nascar and trains be like
Lol, that's why I put "Trains on the ..." in front of it :) I can't help it. They call it the Speedway.
You caught NS 8098 conrail in disguise as a UP!! And 8099 southern in disguise as a UP!
Haha. that's funny. I didn't think of that.
Imagine telling yourself from 5 years ago that it would become CPKC
I certainly could not have imagined it back then.
Three big engines pulling one car? That's not nice, but did you like my attempt?
Only the first one was actually running.
Yeah, it's funny to see a train like this.
I live near the KCS Heavener sub and we have been seeing these brand new ETs like crazy.
I was surprised to catch several of them during the few days I spent in that area.
I really enjoy your videos. I am trying to get by on my social security so I can not help with your expenses.
Many thanks. Just keep watching.
Where are you seeing the trains
Well, the locations are all mentioned in the video.
Awesome! I wish KCS came to Georgia more. Love all the high speed action and the 3 engine-1 car local lol. If you don’t mind, could you check out my newest video please? Thanks!
Yea, I know. They are rare here. I see, you caught my favorite NS heritage unit recently :)
