I got hit by a tornado in South Pekin Illinois 2003 had to sell my sportster my truck and my house ! the insurance canceled me ! I could not own an another house for five years. Because insurance companies wouldn’t cover me !And I did cry and haven’t been able to replace my Harley since. now I’m 67 I don’t know if I ever will have another. Retired with with only Social Security. But I’m glad I get to watch your stories and Scotty and Joe and enjoy them all. Thanks for the good rides.😊 at least I’m living in gulfport Mississippi. with saddle tramp, down here somewhere. I watch him too.😊
Wow, that was a great story or documentary of about Betsy and Scotty. I thought I was gonna cry when he had to depart ways with Betsy. I don’t know if I could’ve left her behind !😅what a old friend she was.😢 thanks for a great story. Can’t wait to see more of Scotty also.😊
It is kind of heartbreaking to leave behind a friend who has been with you through it all. It’s a big event for sure. I’ll catch up with Scotty as we continue to run into each other.
@@ciminoscycles 26,000 it was owned by a friend of mine and I think he over revved it twisted the crank crank was out 38,000 of an inch so now I have to find somebody to fix the crank
@@bigmurr725 damn that’s rough. I’m so easy on my bikes. A suggestion I would have if you’re going to rebuild it is to get a dark horse crank and gear drive the cams so you no longer have to worry about cam chain tensioners.
@@ciminoscycles Hey John I have heard the Darkhorse are good Craigs but very expensive I think I have a gear drive set up already there’s a place in Boynton Beach Florida I think I’m going to send it to MC Cycles they’re big Into Harley crankshafts
Betsy gave Scotty many miles and many memories, lots of good times and some not so good times. Motorcycle is just like any other man-made vehicle(s) they are subject to break-down, falling apart, and break into pieces. Yet we give them name like we would our pet, and/or a nickname like a good friend. We become so attached to them and treat them often times better than we would ourselves. It's all for the Love of the Ride, the Adventure of the travel into the unexplode to go to the end of the road. Love to Ride, Ride to Live until the Very End. Luck be with you Scotty, wherever you may go.
Goodland Kansas, 1971.brokedown Triumph on I-70. Rescued by a man with a motorcycle dealership in his barn on the family farm. Jim McClelland I believe his name was. My buddy and I spent a week as guests of his family while waiting for parts. An amazing experience for a couple of longhair bikers.
Great story. All machines should be like Betsy. Easy to work on, easy on your wallet and dependable over the long term. I’m hanging on to my Shovel. Resurrected it 3 times so far. Had three Crown Vic’s. All got over 300K with no trouble.
I put 63,000 miles on my old 1990 Sportster...It was like a friend dying when I had to sell it.I still think about it today although, I now have another one.
I had an Evo bagger and it just wasn’t my thing. Those single piston brakes almost got me killed once. Now I’ve had FXRs I had zero issues riding. I suppose it’s relative.
It spent some time in NC and has migrated back to Kansas in an undisclosed location. Her frame was restored and she was put back in working order but she was stolen. Now she is in pieces resting in Kansas.
It's called a "soultie" and could be a beautiful thing like you and Scotty experienced, if you know what it is. If you don't understand a soultie than it could be very detrimental. I pat my sporty when she is doing her best. Motorcycles build families and from time to time should be invited to the supper table that they brought you to. Haha Rest in Pieces Betsy!
It's unfortunate that Betsy was stolen and then Scotty took parts from her.. atleast now that he's bought a 96 he's going to keep ol blue all in one piece. Said that he has to take it to Mexico one more season so he can get his money back from the Mexican government and if he doesn't then you're not allowed to bring any other vehicle's through the border ever again..
I love when you read Scotty’s old stories I hope you continue to do more
I can do it if the demand is there. It’s a little time consuming getting the pictures together but the end product is worth it.

That is a great story. Has Scotty written books, if not, he sure needs to.
He wrote a philosophical book called Josie’s Journey it’s pretty good. I’m hoping he will write an autobiography some day.
good job brother !! Awesome!!
I appreciate the support man Right on!

Great story, a motorcycle is more than a machine, they're dream makers!
100%
You should really consider reading more of Scottys wonderful stories...
Where you located?? Tennessee??
North Georgia
Where is Scooter’s first bike ?

good story
I have to thank Scotty for supplying the story I just read stuff lol
I have a 1994 roadking with 300000 plus miles on it. I rode it to almost every state. I will never part with it.
That’s awesome man
I may be due for new lifters. What lifters have you used?
👍😎 Scotty the scooter tramp..

She still exists out there although she’s in a million pieces right now.

Most of Betsy still exists. The only real part Scotty took from Betsy were the leg fairings and tour pack
@ciminoscycles she's all in pieces though according to him or atleast she was.. said he's not taking anything off ol blue..
Scotty loves a good ego stroke lol
