- The 2025 Toyota GRMN Supra, an exciting addition to Toyota's sports car lineup, has been generating significant buzz in the automotive world. This high-performance variant, short for "Gazoo Racing Masters of the Nurburgring," showcases Toyota's dedication to enhancing the Supra's capabilities, particularly in track-focused environments.
Spy images and testing activities at the Nürburgring Nordschleife hint at substantial upgrades over the regular models. The Supra GRMN is expected to feature a sportier aero package, including a more aggressive front bumper with large intakes, canards, a splitter, reworked side skirts, and a distinctive fixed spoiler at the rear. These modifications are not just cosmetic but are designed to improve aerodynamics and downforce, crucial for high-speed stability and cornering on the racetrack.
Underneath its striking exterior, the Supra GRMN is anticipated to boast enhanced performance hardware. Rumors suggest that it could be equipped with BMW's formidable S58 engine, a 473-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six, known for its use in the M2, M3, and M4. However, it's plausible that Toyota might opt for a slightly detuned version, similar to the 453-hp engine powering the BMW M2, to maintain a unique character for the Supra GRMN.
In addition to the engine upgrade, the Supra GRMN is likely to feature a retuned suspension setup with bigger brakes and lightweight wheels. These improvements aim to sharpen the handling and braking performance, essential for a car with track aspirations. The use of cross-drilled rotors and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in the prototype suggests a focus on high-performance driving conditions.
The GRMN badge, reflecting Toyota's commitment to high-performance vehicles, pays homage to their late chief test driver, Hiromu Naruse. This model aims to embody his spirit of pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering and driving pleasure.
Overall, the 2025 Toyota GRMN Supra represents a significant step up from the regular Supra models. With its enhanced aerodynamics, upgraded engine, and track-focused improvements, it promises to deliver an exhilarating driving experience, both on the road and on the racetrack. As with any upcoming model, exact specifications and performance figures will be clearer closer to its launch date.

Probably not S58 but still B58 with upgraded internals and will bump up to 405hp to be level with Z. I don’t think BMW will hand them over just s58 to challenge their own line up.
Exactly. If the Supra had the S58, even the detuned version of the S58 would make the GRMN faster than the G87 M2.
The B58 internals don’t need to be upgraded, they’re forged already. The Nismo Z & current 3.0 Supra make about the same power on a dyno as is.
@@chrisginocyes but the price tag would be higher and who knows if a M2 Comp or M2 CS will come out then it would even the playing field once again
Yes bmw would do that, they already did it with the B58. BMW doesn’t care for their motors to be exclusive. Also it’s not challenging their lineup.. that reasoning only applies within the same brand and lower trim levels.
@@TNTSID well yes but the s58 is not a bmw engine. Its from the M GmbH which makes a difference indeed
Wish it was a S58 but sounds like the regular B58
I hope it is going to be only tuned B58 and not a S58. With S58, it 'd be almost sure thing that this 'd be a limited edition with pricetag unattainable for normal guy. (Few years ago they mentioned 100K+ and limited to something like 200 pieces. So still chance, it won't be this case)
@@jancula9I think it will be super limited regardless unfortunately
i think a slightly uprated b58 making 420 hp 100kg weight reduction more aero better brakes tires and stiffer suspension setup and limited to 500 units and toyota will be able to sell all of them on a drop of the hat.
B58 is Better
@@chujiqvq4955it’s not. The S58 MAX output on a STOCK block is 1,370 hp. Redbull ran a stock block on 1,000hp for drifting for 2 years. They took it apart to inspect it and the engineers and technicians said it’s pretty much is brand new. There’s a video on it as well. People on the street run 1000whp no problems as well
A stock block b58 can only push 800whp. That’s like low 900hp crank only.
It is still a good motor though
The thing I don’t like about this, is that it’ll be priced at $100k+ and Toyota said they didn’t build a in-house Supra because it would be priced around $100k. I understand that the GRMN will be a limited edition. But I still wish Toyota partnered with Yamaha to make the Supra. Anyways still excited for this car.
Over here in the Netherlands the 2020 A90 Supra is already over €100.000.
would be built in Graz Austria i would have thought as thats where they are built now like Jaguars and other BMW/toyota models
100k for a wing and a number is ridiculous. At most, this car will cost slightly less than BMW M2, the objectively better car.
Well said, I like the bmw inline but the Yamaha decision would’ve been great.
@@or2wheelsm2 is only better if the Supra has b58. Supra weighs a few hundred pounds less than the m2. So with the s58 it would be better performance value. Probably not as luxurious though.
But Toyota could easily charge crazy markup by making it a limited edition. If it goes more than 10k above the m2 then it’s overpriced for sure.
If thats a s58, good job for the Sound!!
Does not sound like the S58, it sounds like the B58, The S58 sounds almost like the S55. Like Chris Harris said a 335d sound that revs higher
There are so many tuning options for the regular Supra now, is it really worth releasing a GRMN? It's likely going to be a huge bump in price, and I find it hard to believe it'll beat the tuned versions in terms of performance even pricewise.
Does the s58 even fit in the Supra 👀
I wish they would make an AWD version. That would be awesome.....
Finally make a superior model by being allowed to use the S58 power plant but slap the "GRMN" title on the car to make sure everyone knows where it ACTUALLY came from!
They should have gave it an active rear wing
It needs to have an active rear wing
The German Supra.
That spoiler is horrid! I hope they reconsider and take notes from Verus Motorsports swan neck spoiler.
I want that wing
They should do a tuned up boosted 4 banger. Way lighter over the front end would handle way better. Fuk a heavy 6
They do it's called a gr86
not boosted ;)@@JulianoVitiello
they already do its called the supra 2.0 with the b48 its 200 pounds lighter then the 3.0 supra stage 3 the car with full fbo and it makes about the same power as the 3.0 supra stock.
Give it a side exhaust
This sound like b58
Hmm, the sound.
Sweet BMW M car
I know
BMW performance and handling with Toyota Reliability….don’t see a single issue here
BMW SUPRA
Wow! Who knew 🤦🏻♂️
its not gonna come out... S58 would be obsolete when it already has b58
i think it will continue to use the B58/ZF8HP toyota might rework the engine for more power and transmision for faster shifting and closer ratio but that about it i bet it wont make anymore then 450hp but they could do a 100kg of weight reduction via bucket seats lithuim battary titanuim exhuast ceramic brakes and composite panals improve brakes aero downforce wider tires and a more agressive suspension setup it would still be a beast price it at 100k usd mrsp limited to 500 units it would be all sold out in less then 30mins.
It’s going to be s58
No chance. Why would BMW hand over the S58 for the Supra to beat the M2?
@@chrisginocit’s a collab and toyota paid for it
@@chrisginoc because why else would Toyota come up with the GRMN Supra?
@@Ionknoboi Revisit this video in 2024 when the GRMN specs are released. The BMW collaboration is only for the B58. Bmw would be stupid to give Toyota their S58
@@ykitsnotjohn1610 It would steal the sales of their M2 and M4 if they give the Supra a S58 engine. It will not be a S58.
Grmn stands for German
GRMN stands for "Gazoo Racing Meister of Nürburgring".Still using that Nürburgring lol
I actually dislike this concept. The B58 is powerful enough. It’s the same phenomenon that curses every other sports car. Once you have the car that you wanted, in the back of your head you just think “I could have had the better model” (this is something that has certainly happened to me) and in the off chance that you have the GRMN model, you’re going to be too scared to drive it. I liked the Supra because the best supra you could have gotten was literally just the B58. Now that’s changing if they put the S58 in this thing. Call me crazy, but I might be the only person who dislikes a better performing version of a car.
If u want the b58 then just stick to the standard gr supra. S58 is better and should be in the grmn.
@@bundamaker6747 buy the manual supra then you can justify the b58 there no way toyota will do s58 manual if they were to put the s58 in.
@@patthonsirilim5739 i mean bmw already has a manual paired with the s58. Anyways s58 isn’t happening. The mule grmn Supras sound like they have b58s
@@bundamaker6747 exactly toyota probally wouldent be doing an s58 supra and even if they did it deffinitly wouldent be manual version.
@@patthonsirilim5739 when I said standard gr supra i mean standard non grmn supra.
Get rid of the bmw engine and put the 2jz
overweight underpowered(stock form) inefficent cant get pass emission regs and production have already stop.
Fuck that heavy ass iron block.
All nice, but s58 sound like shit
