The steering wheel turns with the front wheels. You just clip Batman's hand on the wheel and it "Appears" to be steering the Batmobile. Just commenting so no one gets upset when they get it and the figure just sits in the seat.
OK, Last thing. Now that I have had this for a while, I noticed that when the cannon is pointed down, the missile shoots in an arc. When the cannon is pointed up, it shoots in a straight line. Somehow they got this mixed up. I know, I know. I am just picking nits here right now. But it is something to think about.
Can you show a disassembly video? I would like to see how hard it is to access the motor and ESC. If it were feasible to upgrade so it moved faster it would make a sweet RC. Also is it only controllable through the app?

People complaint this thing it's hard to control using the phone because it's not designed to run high speed like a regular R/C car. it's more for display, functions and features. Grab it while they are still around. It's one of the coolest toy that I've ever bought!

I don't know why but after successfully connecting to the car via wifi (iPhone), it doesn't actually respond to any controls. It won't drive or move the canon's etc. Do you have any ideas why? I've tried doing a full reset and going through the set up numerous times (forgetting the network in wifi and everything). Could it have something to do with 2.4GHz orrr…something like that? I'm at a loss. Could bluetooth be causing problems? Not sure what's going on - the lights stop blinking and everything, it appears to be connected, but won't respond to any controller input.
