New information from the investigation into the crash of Asiana Airlines flight 214 include revelations that two flight attendants were ejected from the plane upon impact. Meanwhile, an investigation into the possibility that one of the two fatalities from the crash may have been caused from being struck by an emergency vehicle is ongoing.
The following timeline is based on a report by Reuters.
82 seconds before impact: Plane's altitude is about 1,600 feet. Autopilot is disengaged. Speed not given. The plane is configured for approach and proceeds normally with "no discussion of any aircraft anomalies or concerns," NTSB Chairman Deborah Hersman later says.
73 seconds: Air speed slows to 170 knots. Altitude is about 1,400 feet.
54 seconds: Speed falls to 149 knots, altitude drops to 1,000 feet.
34 seconds: Speed falls to 134 knots, below safe landing target of 137 knots. Altitude is 500 feet. Instructor pilot realizes plane is too low.
16 seconds: Speed falls to 118 knots, altitude now 200 feet. Pilots notice plane not centered to runway and try to correct. Indicator lights near runway show plane is pointed too low.
8 seconds: Speed falls to 112 knots, altitude 125 feet. Plane's throttles start moving forward.
7 seconds: Crew member is heard on cockpit voice recorder calling for more speed.
4 seconds: Sound of "stick shaker" is heard warning of a stall.
3 seconds: Flight reaches lowest speed of 103 knots. Engines at half power and power increasing. Engine response to command to increase power appears to be normal.
1.5 seconds: Call is made to abort landing and "go-around."
Impact: Speed is 106 knots. Plane's tail section hits sea wall at edge of runway reaching into San Francisco Bay and breaks off. Debris is strewn along runway as plane comes halt.

Even a student pilot wouldn't make such a mistake. It must be nice to get an airline job without even being able to fly.
Dushjsaos
True tbh
Nonsense. Literal nonsense. If experienced pilots can make mistakes, then who are student pilots really?
@@SauI_Goodman Are you a pilot, because even a student pilot is trained to avoid a stall at low altitude which was the case here?
@@aviator-js3bh Yes, I am currently studying to be a pilot. I'm not sure what your point is, as it's evident that experienced pilots do make mistakes too. What are you trying to say? Humans are perfect? Lol
As someone that reads lots of reports of crashes, I can tell you experienced pilots do make mistakes. If they can, then a student pilot is bound to make more.
Why were the flight attendants standing up on landing? 😂
I don’t know, but that is dangerous!
Probably They not want to sit so they flung out of the Plane
The animation is wrong. The flight attendants were ejected but were strapped to jump seats near tail
They wanted a catapult launch
My uncle is British airways cabin crew on 777-200 so BA038 and Asiana airlines flight 214 make my uncle want to stand at the front
5 years AND 3 months and 8 days later, I traveled to LAX from ICN but it was windy delay instead!
Thank god
Ok guys were going to land but we recommend every Flight attendant to stand up while we perform the landing.
@아발란치 definitely shows the importance of using your seats and seatbelts.
@@devinthieraultthey were 🙄
It's just animation. In reality flight attendants were sitting in the jumpseats
I LOVE THE ANIMATION OMG

salute to the camera who somehow recorded the entire crash
[and the pilots who tried to save as much people as possible]
Okay, before i keep scrolling down seeing the “a student pilot could do better” just remember asiana 214 was an OVERNIGHT FLIGHT meaning the pilots were exhausted so stop blaming the pilots
they slept while other pilots replaced them, they weren't exhausted
My god this is terrifying I can’t believe this happened
Looks like a Final Destination scene.
Flight attendant: lets stand up during landing
Flight attendant: oh yea why not stand up while crashing at sfo runway that sucks us out of the plane
What could possibly happen
*literally 2 seconds later*
They weren’t stood up.
I hear that 304 out of 307 survived. 3 people died. I guess the 2 flight attendants and 1 passenger.
(This is a guess this is not real info idk)
There were really 3, including the only passenger killed not because of the accident but by a fire truck that ran over her.
A crash at sfo runway
First of all the yoke or hydraulics is wrong as per aircraft and why are flight attendants are standing while landings
10 Years later this is so inancture the yoke did not have a concorde yoke it was a 777 And no one was Standing Up and There was No report Of 2 Flight attendants standing up
That is a 777-300ER not a 200
There’s so much wrong here 😂
Tf is an Embraer yoke doing in the 777?
Why are the flight attendants standing up
And, if all that wasn't bad enough, they ran out of coffee halfway through the flight.
NOOOOOOOOOOO
nobody saw the plane get teleported in the air wth

the captains must have eye issue 😂 thought it was 130knots huh?

Yes

@@Notrichalerq they were 16 16 and 15 I don’t think the flight attendants were this young?
@@dew9103 they werent flight attendants though
Nice Embraer yoke...😂
From what I remember about it. They had gotten 30 knots to slow, and no one took any action. As someone commented even a student pilot wouldn't make such a mistake.
Disasters usually happen from a combination of many different factors.
The aircrew consisted of 2 captains with the left seat pilot having over 10k flying hours
And the supervising instructor in the right seat with up to 12k flying hours.
It should be noted that anyone (even the most professional pilots) are succeptible to human error.
After all, we arent machines.
i’m pretty sure one of the key airspeed instruments malfunctioned i think?
Casual Ryanair landing.

In many recordings I managed to find, the plane would’ve really survived if the pilots didn’t decide to Climb again. Great job Asians Airlines… I’m never gonna let go of Korean Air!

Pilot: "We crashed because my flight controls began to shake violently.."
I’m just ablut 262914% sure that only 3 people were ejected from the plane upon impact. Those 3 being young girls on a study trip. 1 of these 3 girls was possibly killed by a fire truck running her over. No flight attendants were ejected
“Dear flight attendants please stay still and do not move we are experiencing a little stall to the ocean and the tail might rip off the aircraft so don’t worry “😂
what is wrong with the yoke and that does not look like SFO airport
why are the flight attendants standing during landing?

@@alexvang805 I agree
The pilots probably landed the 777 too early, and this plane’s tail struck the sea wall.
Ttheir approach was too low and by the time they tried to climb it was too late
It was his first time landing a 777
He’s usually flying a 747 and this was his first stint
God bless that family who lost their daughter . Who was alive!!!!
How can you not notice a body or just decides “oh well, she’s dead anyways “ let’s just drive over it. 😡
The pilot effed up big time. Bye bye planes/ he’s gotta drive his Corolla
If it’s his first time landing that particular plane , why wasn’t the f/o guiding him? Or at least Notice something isn’t right
yeah, to survive such a crash only to be run over by some yahoo. what was the fire department's response? ban helmet cameras, of course.
