One question - for the hinge hole with the Forstner bit how far from the edge of the sanding block do you set? I have a hinge drilling jig with different possible offsets - 3,4,5 & 6 mm from the edge. TIA.

It depends on the hinge you have. It’s just whatever makes the two pieces of wood line up properly
