That was a fun one to watch. Last time I was on Big Creek was about 25 years ago in a Pyranha Micro. We did that in the morning, then caught Ramsey Cascades in the afternoon. Fun, steep, day.
Hey thanks buddy this is like good first time level there I personally like it high but I would never take a crew first time down that high could be very dangerous I paddled it low at 2.8-4.3 that’s money spot is 3.5 this was 3.1
pretty sic...thanks for sharing...great vid...always love your knowledge of runs and ability to guide others down difficult runs while watching out for them..stay safe...
Man, I'd paddle with you anytime. So many over-the-shoulder checks on your partners coming through behind you. Great lines and a great video! That move you made right at 2:59 was gorgeous, I'd have tried for a lot more left-hand angle and then a hard turn to the right, but the way you did it popped you right out with the perfect angle for the next move.
Yeah on these small creeks I’m very concerned pins and strainers I know about where all the spots are and it’s so easy to just zone out and paddle and someone pins or is under a tree and your way downstream and can see them not safe so I try to just do a quick glance back every rapid make sure all good before dropping into the next
That's a good a test as any for a steep, rocky SE creek and we know people are going to run the Indra down everything. Would the Code have been better?
The Code eats this stuff up. Where I feel the Indra fell short was the front bow would get knocked off line when hits rocks. Can make it work but the code was built for this🥳
@@WadeHarrison Ahhhhhh so thats Big Creek! I know the name, didn't get it when I was over there back in 2010, but it looks like I missed out on a treat!
Did you have to tape an index on your paddle? For $500, it didn't even come with one? Can you go over why you prefer straight shaft over bent shaft? I know paddle tricks are much easier, but I'm talking about in river running.
Dude I said that same thing to these 2 on the walk up I was like with this creek it can go bad very fast and my buddy Brian is a phenomenal boater and I was like he got locked upside down under a tree out here and was very bad so let’s keep eye on each other and stay slow and easy through these top rapids I was shocked how many new trees were out there but was all good

Yeah, you can knock those both out in a day with the right water levels
One of the best Big Creek videos I've seen. Nice grab and go. Stout wading.

Rocippopotamus amphibius in some interesting place, tech run! That bottom half is awesome scenery !
Yeah it’s a classic
Beautiful run, reminds me of Pauley and Lavazola creeks near Nevada City, California.
Well that sounds like a place I like
I've paddled Pauley and Lavazola back in the day! Beautful creeks.
Micro creek?! That’s a Big creek!
Big micro
That's a really cool steep drop after drop creek you all are running. What creek and where is that? Sweet lines, well done.
Big CReek North Carolina USA

Oh dang, unintended Indra over Steeze moment . . . just happened that way. Obsoleting boats.
Yup exactly
Very reminiscent of some of my local creeks, sweet looking run and the Indra seemed to get down there really nicely. What is that run called?
Well those i like to see
It’s big creek in North Carolina USA

Are you also a kayak guide? Can paddlers from out west schedule a trip with you?
I have done some guide trip yes but not alot
@@WadeHarrison I just thought maybe you did because these people seem like clients in the video.
Thoughts on it as a creeker? Looked like the rocker came in handy
The rocker and wide bow definitely helped it

This comes with a grip on it
So for this type of run in particular would you say Code > Scorch > Indra? I’ll hang up and listen.
Code Scorch Indra in that order
How does it do on a river like this compared to a code?
Code would be a better choice there
Just got my Indra, any thoughts on seat position? forward/middle/back?
What creek?
This is big creek midnight hole to Pig
Number 1
Yup
That noise at 0:43 lmao wtf
My big mouth got full of water in the middle of a woo! 😂
@@WadeHarrison that should be your youtube signature 😂
LMFAO 🤣
Impressive Rescue
Yeah was just right there
Did y’all hike your boats in? 🕛 🌖 🕳️
Yes it’s a hike up and paddle down
Damn i believe that's the spot Brian Miller had a bad pin in a C1.
