    I have made many up to 10lb pork butts in my Acorn Jr. Always great! I put them on at like 1am @220 and let it go all night. Usually early morning I spray it with apple juice/apple cider vinegar mix. When it's 180 I spray heavily and wrap in foil till it's 200 internal. Then I put it still in foil wrapped in towels in a playmate to rest. It's still hot hours later when I serve it. A real crowd pleaser.

    Great video. But how long did it take to cook?

    @ Cook For Your Wife, is that your backyard? Jesus, it's beautiful. By the way, I just ordered a Char-Griller Akorn Jr. today. I expect to receive it tomorrow. You've inspired me. I'm going to have to pick me up a port butt. :D

    I might invest in one of them. It seems to be working great for your needs.

    So you use wood chips instead of the chunks?

      I use both what ever mood I am in. I had a cherry tree fall last year so I cut that up and use it as well. Thank you for watching

    Did it maintain a constant heat during the cook?

      I was surprised that this little grill held temp thru the whole cook. I was checking it every half hour because I was nervous about it. This little grill can hold temp very well

    how long does it typically take to fire this thing up?

    • @cookforyourwife6235
      @cookforyourwife6235  4 года назад

      I usually have it going in about 30 minutes. You do want to keep a eye on it because it can get away from you and really heat up. Depending on what I’m doing I start closing it up anywhere from 300 to 400 degrees. It’s much easier to bring the temp up then it is to bring temp down. I hope that helps.
