Randy, thanks for fighting and being OUR voice against SB143! Hopefully today goes well for us NR DIYers in Montana! Thank you for everything you do in this industry!! HOFer in my book!
2nd that. Randy is one of the few popular hunting personalities on RUclips or TV that can be counted on when it comes to standing up for self guided hunters. He also publicly supports the 2nd amendment, while many of his industry colleagues are quiet on both these fronts.
Every hunter out there knows the feeling of not filling a tag all to well. That’s what drives us. Anytime spent out in the mountains is a blessing and a learning experience. Thanks Randy for an awesome and honest video.
Your hunting ethics and your Integrity as a person are one of many reason I enjoy and follow your content. The things you say and do I strongly apply them to my hunting and personal life and have made me a Better hunter and person thanks Randy!
Thanks Randy for hauling all the extra gear so that we can get a glimpse of the realities associated with a self guided Elk hunt. This is a real gut check for those of us already making our plans for 2021. Fitness, resolve, and a lot of luck ....essential components of a successful stalk.
Randy, Thank You for taking the Time and the Devotion on becoming a True American Elk Hunter. Showing us how we should ALL Respect the differences between Public or Private land Boundaries and especially the Patience that's really a Big Part of our Hunting Adventures,,, not to mention the Success or Failure in the respect of All the Game Animals we Enjoy Hunting. Thank You Sir for a Great Job !!
Thanks for taking us along Randy A great quick adventure. A buck in the hand is worth two bulls in the bush. Thanks for filming. And thank you for all you do for conservation.
I love these types of videos! Thank you Randy. These are how most of my hunts go. Either I don't see any game at all or the game I see are far away. But for some strange reason I keep going out season after season and come home with no game. Makes for some wonderful memories of all my outdoor experiences. Those memories are a treasure to me. 👍 I'm glad for the opportunity and that's enough for me.
The bags to heavy and your tired! But the whole time while saying that you are Smiling! Because you Love it and it lets you know your ALIVE!! I wish I could still get around like that! I’m happy just to still be able to get out being paralyzed. You hunt some AMAZING LAND!!
Seemed like I was hunting right there. I know this film wasn’t action packed, but honestly it’s really nice to see someone else in the industry go through and struggle till the last hour of the hunt. Thanks for acting in an ethical way and for not pushing boundaries just to fill your tag.
The best RUclips hunting videos out there! Really love the self filmed ones, they give a better insight into Randy Newberg. Absolutely love the videos, all of them.
Something very real about seeing a hunter as successful as you go through the same struggle I do. Your logic was sound and you stayed safe by not doing something silly. Nice work.
Always great to watch your hunts Randy! Thanks for taking us along. 2020 was a very unique year, not just because of covid, but because the fires here in the west wreaked havoc on the big game hunts and game numbers. Here’s to 2021!
Living vicariously through your adventures. Lol Moving from TX to Montana in a couple months. I bought a place about an hour east of Missoula. Can't wait to get there. Can't wait. Thanks for taking us along.
Randy i pray that your desire for the taste of elk meat will always be greater than your desire to pack an elk out by yourself. God bless you. Thanks for taking us along with you. Randy Dad told me before he passed on that 1 always goes for the easy meat lol
Wonderful, I loved this video! The content is all there. We have all been at that last desperate hour which winds down, leaving us with nothing but the hope of next year. God love you, man; you and Kim.
Snot Swab, brilliant! I can’t count how many times I’ve scratched the heck out of my nose on the back of my glove. Most times it just runs down my mask and neck gaiter. Plus I don’t look good in a stache. Randy love your vids. Keep up the good work. We all know the effort you put into producing top notch camera work. Stay Safe.
I like your videos cause I am a very staunch believer in the stability and accuracy of the Howa 1500 in all calibers. I believe that the Weatherby vanguard's and the Howa 1500 are made in the same place and have very few differences. VERY ACCURATE
I know all that extra weight from camera gear is why you have 20-30 year olds as your cameramen, but you did a good job as a solo hunter Randy. Thanks for sharing your own your own adventure with us. I think that if I was to go hunting in Montana I would get the Big Game Combo which is a much better value than the two single combos, especially just in case something like that buck coming out happens while elk hunting. As you have mentioned before hunting borders can be a gamble that can payoff and sometimes it doesn’t.
Hell yeah! So awesome that youre hunting in my stomping grounds in the Judith Mountains. I know that exact spot that youre at, and have many pictures from up there. Keep up the GREAT work Randy!
Filming by yourself has shots most people take for granted. The b-roll of you walking up to or from a camera sequence requires placement and retrieval of cameras 📷. Great job Randy. 🦌❤️🇺🇸
Randy, I know where you were and more often than not the elk are on the private, but sometimes they are not. I have had a lot of fun up there. The hike out is always more difficult than the one in.
Hey Randy, I thoroughly enjoy all your videos. I have come to enjoy the entire group, Marcus, Michael, Beau,Lucas, Uncle Larry, Bart, Mathew, yourself and many others . When it come to four wheeling skills however, you seriously need to get some skills and a more appropriate rig. I have seen a number of times where you had major issues with the terrain and it would have only taken a little bit of planning with your rig. Don't throw tons of money into a rig that's designed for the Baja and take it into the snowy or muddy mountains. Maybe its just me but I have always felt that our time spent hunting is precious and the last thing I want holding me back is a failure of my equipment including my rig that I depend on to get me there. That's just my 10 cents worth. I look forward to many more videos and I hope this doesn't come across a total negative. I really do appreciate and enjoy the reflections you have on your hunts. It is very refreshing and puts into words what I am sure many of us fellow hunters feel each day we get to enjoy the outdoors. Thanks again, Michael
It was a rough deer season for me deer late season but I know the feeling. Got busted or had things not go my way at all. Hopefully next year will be better
Elk seem to have calendars and maps built in. Been there on the day after season driving to work to see elk feeding near the freeway. Private ground is something I stay a long ways away from. My son has apps on his phone showing boundaries. He shows me ways in and out to public land and I won't take the chance. I know a couple guys that had the wounded elk cross the fence with a landowner refusing any access. Some of my favorite spots are now locked up by folks that now have their own piece of Montana heaven.
You do know the bigger bucks and bulls have OnX as well right? Lol. Seems to always be that way right, they know where the private boundaries are. I’ve watched bucks and bulls that I swear they know exactly where the boundary is. I’ve had bulls coming right toward me and as soon they got to the private boundary, they full on and stopped and started feeding down the boundary line. Most people on here probably know exactly what I’m talking about.
Trudging thru that crusty snow will take the strength out of you like nothing else! I bet all that travel back and forth to retrieve the camera while filming your going and coming helps you appreciate a camera man.
Sorry camera guys but these self filmed hunts have been great to watch. I feel like I have the same conversations with myself when I’m elk hunting but I don’t have a camera. The squirrels probably think I’m nuts.
I'm old and I keep doing it. It's become a comfort to keep making memories for those days when I can no longer go. Keep making memories my friend! You won't regret it. :)
From a legal stand point, if you shoot an elk that's just barely on public and it dies on private, can you just walk over and recover it? Is there laws that protect hunters to do that? Or do you need land owner permission to recover it? Thanks
Randy, if you shoot game on public and he's either wounded or dies on private... you can almost always pursue or recover your animal if he goes on private. A lot of times if you contact the land owner he/she will allow you to access on their private to retrieve your animal. If not, you can always contact local game warden and they have jurisdiction to permit you to enter private and get your animal. Just saying... your scenario has occurred many times over and there are legal avenues available.
Brian, FYI, this is not true in Montana. There is no way you can legally make a landowner grant access, not even with a warden. You may want to look into this before you hunt in Montana, or you could be in for a surprising eye opening. Kudos to Randy for knowing the laws and respecting the landowners and not taking an unnecessary chance.
that's why I never hunted elk they are just too heavy for single handed retrieve without horses or mechanical help...so I just kept to mulies which are bad enough
Everything is on private anymore in montana! Been going out for years now and I see more hunters than ever and less animals on public! Too much hunting pressure!
Randy, thanks for fighting and being OUR voice against SB143! Hopefully today goes well for us NR DIYers in Montana! Thank you for everything you do in this industry!! HOFer in my book!

Doesn’t get much better...
Thanks for taking us along Randy A great quick adventure. A buck in the hand is worth two bulls in the bush. Thanks for filming.

Thanks for hauling us along, (ie camera, batteries, tripod). We your followers really appreciate you. Nice solo hunt.
I love these types of videos! Thank you Randy.

Cheers!

Fantastic self filming expressing the craziness, hard work and ultimate joy of the hunt, keep those smiles coming!

Good stuff Randy!! I wish we were both 30 years younger!!!
Great video Randy these are awesome !!
Well, there's only one thing to say. "Next Year Newburg" Lol!
Keep up the great work, we all enjoy your content and on your own attitude.

Randy, great hunting trip. Thanks for sharing it with us.
That proves it! Randy needs his sidekick Marcus. Thanks for taking us along.
Love the insight into the thought process, found out I’m not a crazy as I thought I was. Great video, thanks Randy.
These self filmed videos are coming out awesome. You have a great editing team!
Glad you like them!
Cannot win them all, but you put in the time in beautiful country. Thanks for sharing.
Such a gifted and classy wild game education with you

Appreciate the video Mr. Newburg😁👍
I simply think it's great to have a youth out there giving it hell.
Very cool series. I imagine this is what it was like when you started out. No crew, big production, etc. loved this.

That was a great idea Randy 😂. The snot spot on gloves , or on sleeves .
Great video Randy!! Keep up the hard work.

Awesome hunt Randy. Sucks it didn’t work out but your will to drive forward is inspiring. I would carry the camera bag next time 😀
Never show yourself too tired. Mrs Fin is gonna shut you down!

Best of Luck Next Year!
Kudos! No way on earth I could walk around the mountains talking to myself.
I do it all the time lol
It was a rough deer season for me deer late season but I know the feeling. Got busted or had things not go my way at all. Hopefully next year will be better
Good morning all!
Have a great day!
Well heck! At least ya saw some. Most people don't find that many elk in a whole season, I'm one of them haha!
I seem to pack too much as well and I’m not even filming. Use a sawtooth pack and it’s great for my day trips. Nice footage

From the moment you put the lense on that Mulie, I knew you were going after it 😉
Too bad ! That buck was lookin' pretty good to me. A buck in the hand is worth two bulls in the bush.
Randy sure has a honey hole there. I saw a lot of elk and no hunters. Get video Randy.
Moving to idaho near montana soon oh i hope to meet randy sometime!
quick question do u think elk will move, or migrate east at any point or will they stay west
Next time newberg, next time!!
very nice
What do you keep in the three front packs pockets ?
Hey Randy, you know that your truck was built to go off road fast right?😂
You have a lot of cameramen on the payroll to have to film yourself. 😊 Keep up the good work.
I have one word for you Randy. Lama
Trudging thru that crusty snow will take the strength out of you like nothing else! I bet all that travel back and forth to retrieve the camera while filming your going and coming helps you appreciate a camera man.
Randy Newberg aka Steve Martin starring in train's plane's and automobiles 😆
I believe them ELK are using onyx maps So they are on private and Safe from Randy
Randy where did you get your boot gaiters and bino harness.
They look like they are from his sponsors. Gaiters are Kenetrek and bino harness is Sitka. Anyone feel free to chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank younfor the info
Well darn it it looks like a good spot but man that private property blue.
Sorry camera guys but these self filmed hunts have been great to watch. I feel like I have the same conversations with myself when I’m elk hunting but I don’t have a camera. The squirrels probably think I’m nuts.
The unlucky ford raptor strikes again
Just realized the guitar in the background music @ 3:40 is Daft Punk- Get lucky lol
What happenedd to the chopper mitts?
I'm afraid you did get some of my hunting luck. Hence the tag still in your pocket. There is still small game hunting for a bit. 👍
I hate to say that you can use a slice of that Onion in yer Tag Sammy! 🖖
Giver the onion, Randy!
Love that expression. My family uses that whenever it requires taking it up a notch.
I guess I’m getting old, but hunting alone in late season just seems so depressing and lonely.
I'm old and I keep doing it. It's become a comfort to keep making memories for those days when I can no longer go.
Keep making memories my friend! You won't regret it. :)
@@skippylippy547 I keep doing it, I just don’t like doing it alone.
Heck I carry too much stuff just hunting within an hour of my house. Especially if I take one of my kids. Tons of snacks and entertainment.
Sucks ya couldn’t go hunt with your son I know how much that means to ya .But hey you got us to go along with ya today
Why is there so much private land compared to Arizona where it's mostly public land?
You need Mac with you to carry your pack!
If there is ever a gerenty with elk hunting it is that there is never a gerenty
Well, Randy, We just can't help ourselves I guess, it must be a sickness of some kind.. :-)
Give her the onion! Grandpa used to say hunt with your stomach.
Randy you need a Jeep for these kind of trips!
From a legal stand point, if you shoot an elk that's just barely on public and it dies on private, can you just walk over and recover it? Is there laws that protect hunters to do that? Or do you need land owner permission to recover it? Thanks
You would need land owner permission to recover it.
@@Randy_Savage_ohyeah thanks! I could see it going both ways, so i appreciate the clarification
Damn.....90 days??? My wife flips shit when I'm gone for 5 days during the rut.
Luck sent....
I like the way you hunt and would like to go with you sometime so you don't have to talk to yourself but I don't think I could keep up
Sew some lambs wool on those gloves for those “snot sickles”
where`s your horse and quad ,or Llama ?
I thought you had a llama?

You need to get TRED 4x4 recovery boards. Can i have one of our guys reach out to your team to give you some free products?
Where are those damn kids at! The boss can’t be out there carrying his own pack and camera, cameraman are spoiled these days
